A question on Reddit made me think about the first romance books I read. I can't remember the first one but these did stuck with me. I got them from the library and they were educational?
But also hot.
I know that there some people out there who don't want to acknowledge that with puberty also comes the interest in sex and having it (or discovering you don't want to) with another person. But with those wants also comes the quest to what intimacy means. These books were very validating in discovering that process.
They were about love and how you can show that with your body. How awkward that may be.
At least that's what I can remember. I could have my nostalgia glasses on. I will try to find them again second hand and reread them to see how they hold up.
Sidenote: I'm really glad I grew up in a country where I even had access to these kinds of books. I never had the sex talk with my parents but I did get a book 🤣.
