Former police chief Jerry Boyd presents a sequel to his first book, Firestone Park, which began the chronicle of his law enforcement career. This second volume contains stories from the second seven years of that career. Some of that time was spent with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, but the majority of those years were played out with the Irvine California Police Department where Jerry served first as a Lieutenant, and later as a Captain.
Jerry Boyd is in his 50th year of public safety service, primarily in law enforcement. Though he has served as Chief of a Fire/Rescue agency and a 9-1-1 Center Director his law enforcement experience is the most extensive. The author began his career as a Technical Reserve (Communications) with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and after turning 21 became a Deputy Sheriff where he served in a variety of patrol and detective assignments. Upon promotion to Sergeant he served in patrol at the Norwalk, Firestone, and Carson Stations. Much of that experience is documented in his book of war stories Firestone Park: Policing South-Central Los Angeles.
