Pretty decent undead-souvenir-of-Chicago type volume, running down a large number of Chi-town ghost stories. As an out-of-towner I hadn't heard of many of them at all. Skepticism and scientific rationalism is at a minimum, of course, but I admire that the author actually did some fieldwork, tried to track down actual witnesses and persons on the scene, and admitted that a lifelong cemetery caretaker in Evanston who should have at least seen Seaweed Charlie (another ghost author claimed THOUSANDS of motorists witness this road-crossing phantom), in fact, had no acquaintance with such a spectre at all.
