I wanted to read Celia's story when we first met her in Taming the Vampire and I wasn't disappointed at all! It was short, adventurous, intense and the ending was just perfect!

‘Bound by the Vampire’ is the follow up novella to ‘Taming the Vampire’, and I thought it was a good story. ‘Bound by the Vampire’ was definitely more about the plot and story. I think the author gave us more of an in depth view of the Green Fae Clan.
The story dives right in, which is always a plus for me. Right away, it seems, Evan and Celia both are so opposite and yet it works within the plot. Evan is a rude, bad to the bone, and sexy vampire, and I loved his behavior. I also enjoyed his vampire tendencies throughout the book. Evan isn’t a fan of the faeries, because of what they did to his maker years ago, so helping Celia, may not come easy at first. Celia is quite and very reserved, although she is only part fae. We got to know about her a bit in book 1, Taming the Vampire. Her explanation on why she is being chased was deep, Fae realm, dreams, and absinthe, it all ties in together. We also got to know a bit about the infamous assassin, Hawk, who is trying to kill her. I can only see good things taking place if there is to be a third book. I enjoyed seeing Liz and Jack again. They were an interesting twist that gave the end the push it needed.

Part 2 of what I suspect originally started as a trilogy. Here we have the friend of the h from book 1 and here she meets her own vampire h who runs a bar.
Someone tries to kill the h so she goes to hide out at the H’s she’s learnt a new trick where she can get to the fae realm which was supposed to be out of bounds and she can spy on peeps to find out who’s after her.
Turns out her own peeps have it in for her. All that warging addles her brain though and she finds it harder and harder to get back the H claims her to drag her back even though she may not claim him back and then he plays hard to get so she has to trick him to declare love.
It’s a lovely book and a great addition to the series but I loved the first book more

Even better then book 1!!
And it was great. My only disappointment was I was going into this needing more on the couple in book 1. But it's not but I like this one more then them. But Liz and Jack do make an appearance but it's not about them it's about Celia and. Still 5 stars from me.

I love quick romances. This was novella was brilliant and I had to pace myself from rushing through it in one night because I loved the characters so much.

So much happens “off screen” and then it just ends. If this couple is carried on like the last couple in the next book, I won’t be amused. One more try with book 3.

Ms. Hart has created a fascinating world. Vampires, Fae, and demons! How can a lover of paranormal romance resist?
Bound by the Vampire is the second within the Blood and Absinthe series. This book focused more on the plot and the functions of the Green Fae society than the first book had.
Celia Albright is a spell caster who does not have her power completely under control, but that has not stopped her from stumbling upon some very interesting and ruinous secrets. She had learned that by drinking the Absinthe her people (the Fae) create and draw power from has been thinning the veil between the human world and that of the Dark Fae. She has approached the leaders of her people and pleaded with them, trying get them to stop producing and using the Absinthe. However, without the elixir, their powers and the powers of other such as vampires, would fade. Naturally, she has created enemies - those who fear losing their power and becoming weak like humans. After an attempt is made on her life, Celia asks Evan Grant for protection.
Evan Grant wanted nothing to with Celia and her cause, but he could not allow her death to rest on his conscious. He agrees to hide her and protect her as she gathers more information about the Dark Fae.
This novella was packed with world building and I enjoyed the characters. Evan was delicious and Celia was willing to give her life for a cause she believed in. The reason I did not give this book five of five was that the relationship development was a bit thin and the ending was rather abrupt. It was just over and there was not much closure.

Bound by the Vampire by Chloe Hart was not an exceptional read, but it does suffice as a time killer. This is the second installment to Chloe Hart's Blood and Absinthe series. I must note that I've read better paranormal romance novelettes in past and this one doesn't quite measure up.
This story centers around Celia Albright, eighth-blood Fae and a spellcaster and Evan Grant, a vampire. Celia is being hunted down by assassins for discovering that the Absinthe elixir the Fae use to fortify their strength is opening the gateway to the dark Fae and bringing forth demons into their world. Therefore, she turns to Evan for protection as her friends Liz & Jack (who are the the main protagonists in the first installment, "Taming the Vampire") are away fighting demons. Evan reluctantly agrees to provide her protection and sparks fly as these two get closer to one another.
My thoughts: Honestly, I was bored to tears throughout the first half of the story. It was bogged down with details and the pace was slow. Also, if Celine flushes one more time or bites her bottom lip, I'm going to pull my hair out and scream from annoyance. It was constantly repetitive and unnecessary. However, as the story progressed, the story picked up pace as the plot thickened. Hence, I enjoyed the last half of the book. However, I didn't like how the story ended abruptly with a cliff hanger. I guess that's a motivation for readers to read the third installment of the series. Overall, this was an OK read and not one I would read again.

These two main characters couldn’t be more different. Evan is living life looking out for number one and Celia lives her life looking for ways she can help others and make a difference. When they first meet, it certainly isn’t love at first sight. He thinks she is incredibly naïve, fashion-impaired and kind of demented. (She wears a sweatshirt, sneakers and a fanny-pack to see a vampire, really?) Celia starts correcting him on his poor grammar. Not a good start. But something about her endears her to him and he finds her attractive despite her attire.

Celia is not a warrior like her friend Liz (from book 1). She is a spellcaster and has more Fae blood than Liz. While she is doing research she finds out something disturbing about her people and a lot of people don't want that secret out. She is in danger and in need of protection so she goes to ask for the protection of Evan who is Jack's friend.
Evan owns a Bar and is amused by Celia's offer when she first makes the proposition. 50,000 dollars for protection. When he first takes note of her from head to toe, he admits she is pretty but not really his type...so why does he feel the urge to protect her.
While protecting her, even from a vampire who is somewhat a friend Hawk, he ends up falling in love with her.
Evan has to protect her from Fae, vampires, and even himself at times....

Definitely better than the previous installation in this series. The meaning of absinthe in this novella becomes more clear as Chloe tries to save the world by preventing the other elves from drinking potions made from the herb. Apparently the herb, when consumed, keeps the portals open to the Dark Fae realm open and allows for demons to pass through. In fact, because the portals are open, the Dark Fae are planning to invade Earth.
I won't go into further detail into the plot, but the author is beginning to make the world of Blood and Absinthe more interesting. The romantic development between the hero and heroine is almost not worth mentioning -- however, since this is a novella, I'm letting it slide this time around. The four star rating I'm giving this book is mostly towards the improvement Hart has made in world-building.

I was so pessimistic as to what these books would be like but I can't tell how you wrong I was. I read all 3 of Chloe Harts books in one day (they are short novels apart from the third) but I have to say the second is my favourite as I or some other vampire obsessed girl like myself can relate to Celia. these are easy reads, brilliantly written and I couldn't put the book down! I always enjoy when the baddy falls for the innocent good hearted girls!
I can't wait for her 4th book to come out in June!

I did like the story right up to the point where Evan talks about how he was turned during ww2 then a few pages later it tells of his last lover being around the era of queen victoria. This is impossible they are decades apart. It is a minor thing I guess but and could be a typo/editting thing but research and checking facts is important thing to do when writing. Overall that was my only issue with the story otherwise I thought it was quite a good little read!

Celia had just been attacked. And with Jack and Liz in Canada she could only think of one person... vampire to turn to. Jack had always spoken highly of Evan. Evan was ruthless and mean and that was exactly who Celia needed to keep her safe. If only she could convince him to protect her.
Another great story. I love this series. I love that Jack and Liz make and appearance and I that we got to meet the characters for the next book.

Super quick read, but great fun! I like Celia's determination to the task at hand. And of course the chemistry between her & Evan. of xourse we knew they'd end up together from the moment she stepped into his office asking him to help protect her from whomever is trying to kill her. Quite an enjoyable read!

After reading book one I couldn't get my hands on this book quick enough! So happy to have found an author that has the art of novella down packed! In book two we are given two new characters to fall in love with without losing the first characters we fell in love with. Great writing! Awesome world to get lost in!

I adore this series, I really really do. The detailing of the characters are what do it for me, as a reader. The strength of personality written truly shines...while the emotioally charged state of friends, enemies and lover's enhance it, the story is just as addictive. The third is definitely going in my to read list. X

Once you finished reading the first book of "Blood and Absinthe" series it is natural that you grab the second book "Bound by the Vampire" and again you won't be disappointed! This story involves Celia - a redhead spellcaster and vampire Evan - a club owner. Again Chloe Hart did excellent job. The story is short but sparkling and entertaining.

Chloe Hart's second novella in the Blood and Absinthe series was as easy to read and as enjoyable as Taming the Vampire. I liked Evan and Celia. I would have liked to have seen more of the Dark Fae realm and to learn more about the breeding programme, but maybe we'll get a greater glimpse in the next part.
If you're after a quick, fun, light-hearted, sexy and romantic read, then look no further.

So, I read this novel in what seems like the flash of lightening.
What did I love about it? Well, first off the main character's (our vampire) name: Evan. For some reason that name makes me melt. Next, I loved the story. It was another novella but it was a great one. It had the romance, the suspense, and the drama. Loved. It.

Another cute short story, well written with good characters and a good base plot for a while story. The author could easily produce a lengthy novel of this material and I would read it eagerly. Like all romances, it has it gushy moments, but hey, that's why we read them right? Round 3 here I come.
