Mum to a great son, and rescue Border Collie (Moby), Pauline writes in two genres: historical fiction, and contemporary crime/comedy.

After leaving a 25-year career as a police officer, she now owns an editing company based in Melbourne, Australia.

She's progressing through her 'bucket list', and with the release of her debut novel (and three more in waiting), she looks forward to the next chapter ... whatever it may be.

For the now, she toils on a historical novel close to home.

A fantastic sequel to Toohey's previous book Pull of the Yew Tree. It hit all the feels both tears and smiles... Lovely writing and a lovely, rich reading experience.

Definitely well worth a read for any historical fiction fans.

The tale continues, of the challenge to keep the Fitzgeralds strong. In the background to the family challenges, some of the challenges from the Kings of England are well shown. The Norman fight with the Irish families is also relayed.
