To Serve And Protect

Rate this book
Michael Grady has just closed one of the biggest investigations in Boston police history when he spots Rachel MacNeil in a crowd of reporters during a press conference. The hot punch of lust he feels is instant and all consuming. He is a Dom to his very core, but has only had unsatisfactory short vanilla interludes with women who weren't willing to fulfill his needs. The more he learns about Rachel, the more he knows she is the submissive he has been searching for, but her tragic past is a red flag that common sense tells him should make him run in the opposite direction. Rachel MacNeil left the bdsm lifestyle after a shocking, painful betrayal ripped away the trust she had in her dom and left her a broken woman. She has finally put herself back together but, even as she tries to subdue it, the desire to give in to her submissive self has never left her and flares to life again when she meets Michael. Rachel knows that trust is at the core of a true submissive's ability to flourish and please her dom. How can she go down that road and risk her heart again when it becomes clear with every touch, every kiss, that this man has the power to dominate not only her body and her heart, but her very soul?

E. Jamie lives in Toronto, Canada. She has been writing since the age of eleven and hasn't been bored a day in her life since.

E. Jamie stands for hot. Hot sexy stories that make your toes and everything else curl. It stands for passionate tales that leave the bedroom door wide open and leave you begging for more.

She decided to take the plunge into writing erotica for publication (after writing it for free for more years than she should have been. Naughty girl) and was snapped up by Amira Press first.

In her free time she likes to read and counts Paullina Simons, Diana Gabaldon, Julia Quinn, Victoria Alexander, Catherine Anderson and Lisa Kleypas among her favorite authors. She loves to listen to music while she writes and suggests movies soundtracks are some of the best music to write to. She is in love with the TV show Supernatural and thinks Jensen Ackles was born simply to inspire her to write smut. As she is a Days Of Our Lives fan, she believes James Scott falls into this category as well.

She loves to cook as she considers it yet another wonderful creative outlet though much to her chagrin she cannot make soup.

I really liked this book. It was about Rachel who lost her 4yr old daughter and then her husband. Before her husband died, he became someone that was abusive. She is starting to get her life on track, but really misses being a submissive. Enter Michael, a Dom and a detective. When he first sees her he knows she is the one for him. The relationship kind of moves fast, but it is a book not real life. Also, I think she should have just told him everything at one time, instead of holding back. Not super intense in the Dom/sub aspect if that is what your looking for. Great couple and great read.
