"Can two dragons really share one woman?" Daisy Alexander is a curvy woman with a lot of courage who can usually take care of herself. However, when she stumbles into the middle of a shifter turf war she finds she is about to be caught in the cross-hairs. That is until she meets the impossibly handsome dragon shifter, Nick. Handsome and with a body to die for, Daisy feels like she in love at first sight. From the looks of it, it seems Nick might feel the same way. Only thing is, Nick's stubborn brother Damien wants a piece of Daisy too. Will Daisy be able to choose? Or will she have to be SHARED by the dragons?
My first eye roll was when she was volunteering to go outside the wall for herbs. And it just got worse.
The bad guys are BAD and the good guys are GOOD. The dialogue shows this by being over the top bad and then super sweet which made it insincere and unreal. The relationship is pretty much insta-love with them verbalizing their feelings but I didn't understand why they felt that way. The sex is detailed but not sexy, more clinical, A into B.
The h gets intoxicated and suddenly wants to kiss the second H. What! When did the h get feelings for him? Then she gets feelings for that H when hurt by the other H. The h has sex with one and then the other. Not menage just cheating. Gah! It felt contrived. Many things just happen to happen. The H has to work with an old flame and I hated it--which is probably what the author wanted me to feel. But that was the strongest emotion I had while reading this so I wasn't happy when I finished just relieved.
The story is so fast moving that it felt like an overview of a movie without the pictures. Lots of things happen with a sentence or two of explanation.
This story is ok for adults looking for a light read but don't take it seriously or you will be disappointed.
First off the title is misleading, secondly the whole book is unbelievable, thirdly Daisy is TSTL and fourthly she and Damien deserve each other. I cannot for the life of me figure out how she sees Damien continually antagonize Nick and still wonder how Nick could have no love for him when Damien never had any love for his brother in the first place. Ugh, I just couldn't with this book, especially from the beginning, when no one lifted a finger to volunteer to go for the medicine that got Daisy in this whole shifter battle predicament. If everyone was as callous as that it's a wonder that were any humans left. I don't subscribe to the notion of loving two people, being attracted to two people yes, but in love, no. Daisy knew that she was attracted to Damien first so she should've rebuffed Nick. And what bogusness was that logic Damien spewed? Nick always had a cold streak, but he couldn't give any actual instances to support his claim. The clan didn't even back Damien up because he was an irreverent mischief maker who never even tried to toe the line. But Daisy takes his say so on the fact that Damien was hot, knocked her socks of and Nick admitted that he would've seriously killed someone who was only his brother by unfortunate circumstance. I eye-rolled and sucked my teeth through this book.
I think the title is a bit misleading, but the story inside is definitely worth reading. This book is all about heart, family and love. Daisy has volunteered to leave the safety of the high, stone walls surrounding her town, in the hopes of finding a rare herb needed to save a six year old boys life. The dangers outside of the town walls are numerous, with shifters of all kinds, especially wolves and dragons, who, as per the tales told by the elderly to each and every child since birth, will tear up humans and dispose of them piece by piece. But Daisy is determined to not let the child die because everyone else was chicken. She was going, no matter what. With no family left, in her mind, it was the logical solution. And just as she thought all was going well, low and behold, there appears the wolves, snarling and growling, ready to tear her apart, until one takes note of a mark on her hand. Then life starts to get interesting. Dragons to the rescue, Daisy manages to escape the wolves, only to find herself being detained by the dragons. Nick and Damien believe that it would endanger her town if she was to return, so Damien delivers the herbs and confirms that she is alive and well, and a hero in the eyes of her hometown. But, nothing ever seems like it truly is, and the brothers are certainly no exception to this rule. The "brotherly feud" that is a constant between them, only seems to escalate as Daisy finds herself in the middle of a major dilemma...she can't pick one brother over the other....she loves them both. With daily battles being fought, both against the wolves and among the dragons, tempers rise and hearts are broken. Packed full of excitement, anxiety, action, friendships and loving, this book will have you reeling from the first page, right up to the end. Bonnie Burrows is extremely talented. Her writing had me guessing, and more often than not, incorrectly, as to which direction the plot was headed. Absolutely loved this story and hope to be able to read many more from her.
Because of the title I assumed it was a menage story. It's more like a love triangle. 100 years after a nuclear war there are very few people left but a whole lot of wolf & dragon shifters. I thought this was an interesting combo. The few towns that were left are in the north Michigan area. These towns are surrounded by very large walls to protect them from the wolf shifters. The Dragon shifters try to keep an eye on these towns & help keep the wolves at bay even though the townsfolk don't realize it. The wolves have a legend/prophecy that there is a Woman of the star who can make a wolf very powerful by mating with him. Daisy is this woman. She braves the wilderness to find an herb to help treat a little boy's illness. Just as she gets the herb two wolves spy her. They intend to kill her until one notices the star on her hand. The other is the Alpha & he's real sleaze. Ezra, the Alpha, tells her he's taking her & she will be his mate. Two dragons show up & chase Ezra away. One of them, Damien, takes the herbs back to town & hangs out to make sure the boy is okay for Daisy. The other, Nick, takes Daisy back to their home in Crystal Falls. They are brothers & both are completely taken with Daisy. Nick gets a few days head start on Damien in getting to know Daisy. By the time Damien gets back, Daisy & Nick are already together. The story from here is Damien tries to woo Daisy when he sees her. When she is with Damien it feels so right. Damien never stops watching over her. Two times he was there to save her. The second time it should've been Nick but he was to busy saving his ex from being mauled by wolves, which was a complete setup. Daisy realizes she loves both men but wants time to figure out what she should do. As the final shifter battle takes place, one of them shows their true colors & her decision is made. Definitely worth reading.
The title suggests this is a menage story. It isn't. It a love triangle between two petty, childish brothers and a girl who can't make up her mind and sleeps with both of them, causing horrible conflict. A hundred years, post apocalypse, the heroine lives in a community of 4,000 people in northern Michigan with no outside contact, they wear cotton t-shirts (where do they get the cotton?) and know what a ‘massage therapist’ is. The language used, especially in the sex scenes is about as mature as a twelve-year-old from thirty years ago. However, if you find descriptions of feminine buds, feminine mounds, feminine folds, feminine lips, feminine entrances, manhoods and granite-hard rods do it or you, read on. The heroine really should get that ‘frustrating ache low in her belly’ looked at. It happens a lot. Could be serious. It usually happens before she jumps into bed with whatever brother she's gone to tell off for being a ****** There are also plenty of inconsistencies in the story such as: all shifter babies are boys, then there are women in the dragon town that have spent their whole lives there, and a woman from the wolf town has a baby daughter. Repetitive plot, cringeworthy language in the sex scenes, and one dimensional characters that behave at best like early teens, at worst like young children. There are better paranormal books to spend your time and money on.
I received this book as an eARC with the promise to write an honest review so here it is. I loved this book it captured my complete attention from the very first page and held me totally engrossed until the very last page. I won't give any spoilers, but I was not expecting the twist to this novel.
I loved how brave Daisy was to leave Stone River to help save a little boy. I also loved how the dragon shifter brothers Nicholas and Damian rescued Daisy from the clutches of the evil werewolf Ezra.
This book was non stop action and the romance between the characters was hot hot hot. I truly loved this book and I highly recommend it to everyone. I know you will love it as much as I did. Be sure to pick up your copy today, you will be very glad that you did.
I couldn't even get out of the valley with these characters. The narration style was almost like a children's book. The dialogue was forced and unrealistic. The romance wasn't supported by the context. The characters' actions made no sense given the circumstances.
Life beyond the walls. Daisy ventures outside the confines of the walls to her town that’s been secluded for over 100 years. She’s goes in search of a herb to help heal a small boy. She finds it with no problem but getting back will be. With werewolves wanting her and the dragon shifters out there. And then there is the prophesy about her with the star birthmark. Will written self-contained story with two hunky male dragon shifters that both want her, but which one to choose.
Although the story had some dialogue that was somewhat stilted, my overall opinion is that it was a great adventure. I really liked how Daisy eventually figures everything out. Her character is strong and caring however, she bothered me because she also was so naive and was cowardly when it came to being honest with people. Her adventure was exciting and I enjoyed reading about it.
Five stars can't get a higher rating. Nick and Damien are dragon shifters brothers, they saved Daisy from being kidnapped from shifters wolves. Nick and Damien both loved Daisy. Daisy loved them both. She was waiting for a sign to which brother she should spend her life with. Nick or Damien? Readers will enjoy this fascinating story.
While the story itself was pretty action filled, it just began to feel as if things began to repeat over and over. The fights, in particular became rather dull and sort of just a side dish. The story concept was good, I just did not feel the author draw me into it.
While this book had great potential, this reads like a first draft...there are jumps in time that leave you wanting more explanation, the grammatical errors are painfully obvious and at the very beginning there is a pop culture reference that almost made me puke and give up on the book all together. This book was okay...
just finished the book I loved it this story kept me on my toes Bonnie Burrows delivered surprises throughout the story and at one point I thought ah ha I got it but was thrown for a loop. I really like books where your kept guessing AWESOME
I usually know what to expect with a story like this one. I was pleasantly surprised several times. It didn't go where I expected and wasn't predictable at all. Lots of action.
Wow! I loved it! Shared By The Dragons by Bonnie burrows is exciting, smart, well written, thrilling, action packed, captivating, heartwarming, romantic, sensual and sexy! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
The story was well written and the characters were great. I really like shifter books but dragons shifters are my favorite. Wow, what a ride of emotions, with so many twists and turns; you will not be able to put it down. Highly recommended and keep them coming.
This is a great story of love that last no matter what. Daisy is a brave women who was caught in the middle of two brothers. Bottle her and she loves them both. When one shows his dark side she finds the choice to be easy. The journey was long but worth it
