The concept is intriguing, but was not fully developed.

There were some very entertaining alien species.

Some FF romantic rep, but a female character had to morph her sex to male before a sex scene. That feels like the opposite of queer rep to me.

The story would have benefitted from more time and attention paid to the development character and setting.

Given that all non-consensual sex is rape, I can’t consider sexual violence as ‘erotic’.

Rape is a common form of torture strategy in stories of colonization and conquest. This novella could have challenged that, but didn’t.
