We've all had our experiences with him. The Bad Boy. The one we admire from a distance, but never think of approaching. The one with the hard body, and perfect stubble, who's too handsome for his own good. For me it was Nate McKinney. We met when I joined his gym. He expressed an interest in me, but I didn't believe it. What would a man like him want with a nerd like me? Nate had to do a little persuading to convince me his attraction was real. He showed me how deep and hot his passion ran for me. Sometimes he was gentle. Sometimes he was rough. And I enjoyed it all.But can I trust what he says? All signs indicate he's using me for what I can do for his company. I can't fall for a man like that. I can resist him. Right?Kevin Roberts

Christa Tomlinson is a pop culture loving, anime watching, nerdy fangirl who loves to read and write romance. She creates stories that are emotional and lovely with intimacy that is integral to the characters’ romantic arc.

Christa grew up reading romance giants Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, and Virgina Henley - thanks to her older sister who gave her her first romance novel many years before she should have been reading such saucy content. Christa's first attempt at writing her own romance novel was in middle school - a historical that will never see the light of day. Since that first attempt, Christa has written many spicy fanfictions of her favorite characters and romances featuring her own hot and sexy heroes. Her first self-published romance, The Sergeant, was an Amazon best seller in Gay Romance for seven weeks in a row.

After many years in the sunny warmth of Houston, Texas, Christa has returned home to St. Louis, Missouri. She is a former high school social studies teacher and retired roller derby player. Don't ask her if romance requires an HEA or she'll use her roller derby skills to hip check you.

You, Christa Tomlinson, have ruined me for other bad boys. This was the second book of the series and i loved it.Not as much as i loved the first one probably because it was much shorter and i tend to enjoy lengthy novels where the the characters go back and forth ( yeah i' m weird like that). Nevertheless this was a wonderful addition.Nate is actually a good boy in a bad boy's body and i loved the way he treated nerdy Kevin. Not much else to say , it was interesting and held my attention.
I have to say at this point that the thing i love the most about this author is the choice and variety of the characters, both physically(tall and short guys, blonds, long haired, with dreads e.t.c) and emotionally (confident alpha males, nerds, rude boys, kind souls e.t.c)
Same goes for Max's story :)

HOT, SEXY AND ADORABLE!!

This was the story between hot, sexy, smart Nate who after seeing cute, but sexy nerdy Kevin was never the same. Something about the insecure young man just turned Nate inside out with want. Once they start their relationship, Nate will do whatever it takes to keep Kevin. I love that no matter how long the story is, this author gives the characters depth. I also liked how it ties into the Gage and Max stories if you have read those. I liked the story but loved the sex between these two. I hope to see more of them in the story of Max. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

This was a very solid 4 stars. I liked how the characters weren't plagued with a lot of baggage, but normal, everyday type things that people deal with and can easily work through it. No soap opera and low angst. Great book to read through in one sitting leaving a smile on your face and a wish for a little more of these two characters.

I thought I was not going to love this one like the first book because Nate was not introduced that much in the first book but DAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGG! I really fell in love with Nate and Kevin's relationship. The blurb kind of spoils things but whatever.

Nate and his backstory? I liked it. Kevin and his tattoos? I liked it. Their personalities? I liked them.

Anyway, I really liked how Nate and Kevin's relationship progressed. It was insta-attracted kind of thing but at least nothing happened in 24 hours or even a week. I really loved every interaction between the two of them. Their dates and all, I really loved those.

I'm sad though that it is short because I liked it better than the first one even though it's shorter. And yeah, I wish this was longer or more detailed in chapters/events because I was really into this.

I feel like book 1 and this one is a build up to Max's story. I am not actually interested at Max. I was though in the book 1 but since I read the blurb for Max's book, I thought that book was going to be predictable. I'm still going to read that one some time.

But yeah, I liked Nate and Kevin's more than Joseph and Gage but not by much. Maybe because Nate and Kevin's "problem/plot twist" wasn't as intricate as Joseph and Gage's.

Overall, I great-but-short read.

Cute, short and very hot romance between Nate, owner of three gyms and geeky tech guy, Kevin. They meet when Kevin decides to build up his muscles so he can show off his tattoos that he got from Max, a friend of Nate's. Kevin goes to Nate's gym, a little worried about being intimidated by hunky muscle guys, but decides to join the gym. Liked the slow build up of romance between the two. Kevin was a little too meek, but I did understand. I can relate to his feelings. Things that happen to you in high school stay with you forever. Loved when Nate went all caveman - whew!! Hot lovin'. Good solid writing - a boo-boo or two but nothing that takes you out of the story. Apparently I jumped in the middle of this book party because there is a book one that seems to introduce these characters. But reading it as a standalone was perfectly fine.

I finished reading book #1 today and got this book right away. I was surprise at the difference in lenght, but didn't paid much attention. It was nice to see the books ran parallel to each other and was glad to see previous characters. I thought book #2 was going to be Max's, but I guess everything will work at the end.

This book was more romance tham sex, but still smexy. I just wanted a little more at the end. It felt rushed and Vanessa needed karma to get her.

Overall, a good story for to continue the series.

This was shaping up to be a solid 3 stars for me but Kevin started to get a bit too passive, like he was just there... Nate carried everything 🙈

And the thing with Vanessa completely brought down the story.. .
And Kevin's reaction to Vanessa, just running off and completely ignoring all of Nate's attempts to call him, text him and see him.
Nates still moping and upset', still trying to get Kevin to talk to him and Kevin decides he needs to go to clubs to make sure he can get other men's attention so he can believe that Nate has a genuine interest in him?????? Wtf
He doesn't do anything with the guys at the clubs, does some 'PG dancing ' and tells them he doesn't wanna hook up, he has a boyfriend. Then leaves with 5? phone numbers satisfied that he can now believe Nate didn't use him like his employee claimed he did. 🙄🙄🙄

No talk about him going to the clubs when he has Nate back over to talk about the app and they talk about them, Nate doesn't even hesitate to just take Kevin back. 😒

The breakup needed to have a lot more satisfying of a conclusion, Kevin needed to apologize for not communicating what happened with the coworker, definitely shouldn't have gone seeking other men's attention to feel like Nate could actually be interested in him... like, that's so stupid? Especially if most of the men at the club were just looking for a hook up, he doesn't really need to be special, just available🙄 and where is the consequence for what Vanessa said ? That her boss was gay for pay, having Nate briefly think about firing her is not a satisfying conclusion. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

So cute! Nowhere near the angst of the last book, but I really liked the dynamic between these two...
Kevin, who was getting inked by Max, was referred to Nate's gym to get in a little better shape to show off his new ink... that's where he meets Nate. Nate is tired of dating gym bunnies who just want a free membership and is taken with Kevin's shy demeanor and his innocence. He's sweet and just different from what he's used to....
Unfortunately, some hang up's on KEvin's part and a meddleson employee cause a few problems towards the end, but it wasn't long and drawn out, nor did she try anything else....although I would've liked to have seen her lose her job or get ridiculously embarrassed by someone for running off at the mouth... you know me, I like my karmic justice....and she definitely deserved some!

Other than that though, it was just a sweet, shorter than the last one, story of two people getting to know each other and starting a relationship. It was cute... Also ended pretty abruptly... that kinda threw me off... but meh, whatever
4 stars from me... can't wait to see what Max is getting up to!

Well...I did say if these sequel stories were under 300 pages.... Look, I just couldn't help myself, ok?

Nate's novella is easily the best of the three. Short, sweet with some good sex thrown in made for a quick but really enjoyable read. Kevin is just too damn adorable to not love. It was easy to connect with Kevin, to sit there and read his dialogue and think to myself , "I get that reference. I love that show, too. Yea, that comic book movie did suck." Nate comes in a far second to Kevin, but he was written well. I liked his pursuit of Kevin - a bit much, but not over the top into the land of creepy and/or melodramatic. I wouldn't really call Nate a Bad Boy though. He was rather drama free and a bit too...normal. I guess its good that I tend to like normal.

Gage and Max make appearances too, and it was cool to see how all three stories connect and weave through each other. The mention of the others wasn't overpowering and didn't take away from the main plot and made for a good supporting cast for Kevin and Nate.

All in all, a good read.

This was my favorite of the three stories in this series, I just loved Nate and Kevin together, they were sweet and sexy and I loved that there wasn't really any major issues/angst/drama, just two guys very different from each other falling in love. I also liked that this did overlap with a bit of the first story and the other guys were included in a few scenes. Kevin was totally adorkable, I just loved him! I think the writing and story in this was tighter than the first book, and I think you could totally read this on its own. If you want a nice quick read, try this!

The first word that comes to mind for Nate and Kevin's story is sweet and adorable! I loved how Nate wanted things to be great for Kevin in a certain area, loved that he wasn't afraid to tell Kevin how he was feeling, and that he didn't give up on Kevin. Kevin's shyness and his sense of humor were nice and fun. And these two were HOT when they reached that point of their relationship. There were a few editing issues but I loved Nate's story and I am definitely looking forward to Max's!

We met Nate in book one. He owns a chain of gyms and is fed up of dating the same type of guys that he meets at work. In walks Kevin, computer geek, comic fan and virgin. He wants a new body to be able to show off his tattoos. Nate is instantly attracted to Kevin but Kevin thinks Nate has ulterior motives for his interest. They may have more in common than they first thought. A sweet story with an HEA. 3.5 stars

Really enjoyed this. Thought it was sweet and romantic. Nate just wanted Kevin and wasn't prepared to give up when they hit trouble.
Kevin was so sweet and shy. Loved that he gained confidence and accepted Nate did want him.
It was more romance than sex which was a total flip to the 1st book!!
I was just disappointed that it wasn't as long as the 1st book.
Now onto Max!

Awwww!!

That was so sweet but short. I loved how shy Kevin was and that Nate just found him so cute and adorable. Nate found that someone that he was looking for that didn't want him, for his money or who he is. Didn't like that what that Vanessa chick did at all, and she still didn't get what she wanted anyway.

Nothing groundbreaking, but a sweet romance with interesting characters. I enjoyed the fact that Kevin was a biracial nerd who attracted the Norse god-like gym owner tough guy. Nice contrasts and complements there. A pleasant way to spend a couple hours of reading time, assuming you're cool with m/m love. Which, by the way, is super hot.

Received this free for signing up for Christa Tomlinson's newsletter. I don't know why I hadn't heard of this author before. I seem to have the story she wrote from the MM group back in the 2014 Loves Landscapes, but I never read it.

This was a novella about a guy, Nate, who owns gyms that he was able to finance by being an underground fighter. He's a very good boxer, but he's gotten out of that game and into the fitness game. He's tired of the type of guys he's been dating and he meets a new guy at this gym. Turns out the guy was referred by Nate's friend Max, a tattoo artist.

Despite Kevin's shyness and introverted personality, he begins working out with Nate - letting Nate be his personal trainer. He's attracted, but convinced that Nate is straight. Nate senses Kevin's reluctance and takes things slow. Eventually though Nate makes his wishes know, but Kevin is still in disbelief.

When a shady person confirms Kevin's distrust, he pulls away. This was the only part of the story I had trouble with. Even an introvert with low self-esteem might handle this differently. Regardless, it played well into the story and ultimately allows Kevin to see himself and Nate differently.

Overall I enjoyed the story. There were a few editing issues that I would have cleaned up, but nothing major. I liked Kevin a lot and felt like the author gave enough information for the reader to understand his headspace. I didn't feel the same connection to Nate and maybe that's because I haven't read the first book in the series, which I think I'll do. A solid story and I'll be interested to read more of this author's books.

***BEWARE OF THE SPOLIERS>>>>>****
https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2018...

I had won this book back in 2015 (I believe it was that year) well more so, I had won the first book, but the author since she had forgotten to send my book off, she actually gave me all three books in the series. Which I am glad of because when I read the first book, I definitely wanted to read, the second and third book. But never gotten around to it up until now. And I will say book two is as good as book 1 I am just glad that it is sorter than book 1. I love Nate and Kevin story, I swear I am not lying Kevin is me, but I don't have anxiety and low self-esteem, only PSTD. I liked how Nate got that girl Vanessa straight, and I am like watching something will happen, and something will ruin their great vibe and relationship. And then Kevin will not talk to Nate, and then Vanessa happened, It's weird how she of all people didn't see how Nate looked at Kevin. She was so blind where like everybody else from the employers and those who work out there, they all noticed it, but she wanted Nate for herself but got burned when he told her he was full blown GAY.

Nate is a 29 year old gym owner. Kevin is a 25 year old freelance web/app designer. Kevin is a virgin. I’m not a big fan of any virgin trope at all, so that wasn’t a plus for me, but honestly I like usual it didn’t bother me in this book at all. The author did a good job. I was not a big fan of the central conflict, but I did like how it was resolved. Kevin seemed a little naive, and I feel like I’d truly love him once he grew up a bit, maybe in like 10 years, but I appreciated the author didn’t make him inexperienced as a purity fetish. But overall I thought they were a good couple and of course as in the first book the sex was written well. I also liked the guys just hanging out. Not a big fan that one of the only (minor) women with a speaking role was a manipulative jerk.

I liked the first book better but I was pleasantly surprised by this novella. I’d love to read the next one too.

A good story.

I enjoyed this story but I wanted more. For example, the issue with Vanessa really needed to be dealt with, not just glossed over. I wish the editing were better, too. There were commas where there shouldn't have been, no commas where there should have been, and hyphenated words that shouldn't have been hyphenated. Overall, it was a great story with two adorable characters. I can't wait for Max's story.
