Have you ever wondered why some people have great success in spite of not being any smarter than you, and perhaps having less talent than you? It all goes down to mindset. Scott Allan starts off by sharing three important lessons his father taught him, and how those have shaped his thinking for the better.

Here are a few of the lessons that really stood out to me:

*Replace scarcity thinking with gratitude. I loved his "$10" example, because it helped me to have more appreciation for what I have, rather than focusing on what I don't have.

*Destiny is not just a matter of chance. It is a choice.

*You will never be at a loss for friendships or building strong alliances with people when focused on contributing toward helping others.

I appreciate that the book went beyond theory, and provided practical ways to implement the concepts. For example, the book provides three action steps to declutter your mind. I can't say that you will be changed in an instant by taking these steps, but I will say they are practical steps that can be immediately implemented so that without a lot of stress or planning, you can begin the process of changing your mindset.

Another great feature is that each section was concluded with key takeaways. Those are a great way to review the main points without re-reading the entire book.

If you want to empower your thoughts, reading books such as this one is a great place to start!

What can I say

Read this via Kindle Unlimited. But halfway through, liked it enough to buy it. Scott hits the nail on the head. Not all self growth books are created equal. This book is well worth the time to read....maybe more than once.

Typical of most of these type books - no surprises, but an easy read... Great book on a plane or other place where there may be distractions.

I don't know who you are or what you are doing in your life but if you can do something, then add this book in your list and read it ASAP! This is one of the most effective non-fiction I have read this year and because of its different concepts, it stands different from all the time management, energy management, or self-help books.
.
This book is about 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 and I see it as the most underrated management idea and I wish I could know how many people actually track and record every idea that crosses their mind.
.
But, why idea management is so important?
It was found that the average person has about 𝟭𝟮,𝟬𝟬𝟬 to 𝟲𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 thoughts per day. No matter if it was Einstein or Musk; all people think about lots of ideas every single day and some of those ideas can be revolutionary if worked on them. Edison used to keep his idea journal and there is record his ideas and experiments in more than 3,500 journals. All those inventions that happened in the world were the result of a fraction idea that crossed someone's mind and they worked on them.
.
We are no exception from them but the only difference that stands between us and world shapers is that they are aware of every idea that crosses their mind. If you are still reading this then ask yourself: How many times a day you think about some ideas and you forget them as soon as you stop thinking about them? Well, what if just one of those ideas might have the potential to change your life?
.
That's why you should read this book because Scott Allan teaches us all the efficient ways to capture our ideas and tells us how we can record them and work on them whenever needed. There are many methods that can be helpful with managing ideas and trust me, this book is worth every second that you will invest in it.
