Sometimes love can be cruel. Not that Roxane has fallen in love but the one man she found interesting has crossed from her personal life into her professional one which makes life complicated. Parker Williams doesn't take no for an answer, not that Roxane would deny him anyway. He has his own set of rules that must be followed while hers are being crossed through like a to-do list. When a person falls in love, it's supposed to be easy but it's much more complex than either realized it could be. Roxane's control is slipping along with every opinion she had about love. This time, it feels different. This time, it finally feels right. Slowly she realizes how much is at stake, but she is only concerned about losing one thing-her heart.
Lyra Parish is a hopeless romantic obsessed with writing spicy Hallmark-like romances. When she isn’t immersed in fictional worlds, you can find her pretending to be a Vanlifer with her hubby. Lyra loves coffee, the great outdoors, authentic people, and living her best life.
blockquote>"Last night, I realized how you treat men when you're done with them. Tell me right now if you want this to stop, if you want me to stop. I don't want you throwing my flowers away. I don't know where this is going but - " "Parker, what are we doing?" "Taking a chance," he whispered.
Parker and Roxane's story continue and I fell in love with Parker even more. He's such a different character; you can just tell how serious he's about Rox. I was very pleased to read he didn't sleep with her - even though it drove both mad - because he has his reasons and he takes his time. The reason gets explained in the story and I adored him even more after that.
Single Vol. 2 picks up where Vol.1 ended: Parker flying with Rox to NYC for a business trip, a trip which will change everything. Their pull grows stronger and stronger the longer these two are together and Rox can't any longer deny how much her heart and mind are in a constant battle.
"The heart was trying to control me, but I couldn't let it. Even the heart had weaknesses. Love was the equivalent of stabbing a dagger into a heart and twisting. Okay, maybe it wasn't that dramatic, but it felt like it to me."
"It seems my world was slowly crumbling as I realized what was happening ...."
At one point it's useless to fight what your heart and body craves, and what Roxane's body and heart craves is handsome Parker. A man who makes her feel safe, desired, and loved.
I enjoyed their story and despite encountering some obstacles both found their way back to each other. I'm, again, curious what's going to happen in Vol. 3 until then I'm craving me some Parker. He's definitely sex on two legs
If you're looking to start a new novella series that offers laughter, some steam, and lighthearted romance with a adoring but dirty mouthed alpha, then I'd suggest to pick up Lyra's SINGLE series. ___________________________________ ✦ Read all my review (A-Z) on the blog ✦ Like the blog on Facebook ✦ Email subscription to my blog

I was looking forward to reading SINGLE 2 by Lyra Parish, after reading and loving the volume one in the series in OWNED an Alpha Anthology of never before seen novellas. Part one was hot sexy read, and wow did I love Parker, and with the way things ended, I could wait to see what was next in store for Roxane and Parker.
“Who is Parker Williams? Oh, Parker was the man who so easily destroyed my golden rules”
Parker has sent Roxana into a tailspin, he doesn’t take no for an answer, he knows what he wants and he wants Roxana. The more time Roxana spends with him, the more she starts to question her feelings about love. Her walls are crumbling, and she starts to realize that one by one the rules that she had in place to protect her heart are slowly breaking.
“Love and I weren’t compatible: we’d broken up a long time ago”
SINGLE 2 was a great read. Roxane and Parker are great characters. Their chemistry was off the walls, loved the passion, and sexual tension between them. Love Parker so sexy, so caring, so protective, and so alpha. This was a quick read that kept me hooked from the start to finish. I’m loving the story so far, and I can’t wait to read the Volume Three to see how it all ends for Roxana and Parker.
“Parker had pulled out his talons and had dug too deeply into the crevices of my heart”
I recommend this series, as I don’t think you will be disappointed. I will be adding more of Lyra’s book to me TBR list.
Single Vol.two continues Rox's journey of being a badass business woman and living the single life. The later is not so easy with Parker in her life. Can Rox spend a week with Parker in NYC and keep it all business or is Parker going to continue to chizzle away at the walls around Rox's heart.
I have enjoyed this series. It has lust, passion, love, sexiness and frustration. Rox and Parker are great character. Rox is a breath of fresh air in this book world of shy, timid women. Parker is hot passionate intelligent and caring exactly what Rox needs. If I must say something negative it would be the volumes are quick reads, shame on you Lyra, and leaves me wanting, a bit like Rox. I can't wait to see what happens in volume 3.
Single, Volume 2 is the second chapter in this novella serial, and things are starting to hot up and get even more complicated for Roxane and Parker.
What seems to be the hardest thing for Roxane and Parker, is to keep their hands off each other. Considering how Roxane is adamant that being single is what she wants to remain. Work is her life and she doesn't need the stress of a relationship. Yet she is finding it harder to stick to this mantra of hers. Parker is making it almost impossible for Rox to say no. He is breaking through her carefully constructed walls, with his charm, honesty, panty dropping looks and attitude. Poor Rox is struggling.
I did get a little confused at one point, Rox didn't want Parker for anything more than fun, and he wanted more. Yet somehow it changed to Rox declaring she wanted more, and Parker holding off until he was sure. A hell of a lot of frustration was flying around, and making the atmosphere incredibly intense. I was practically biting my nails waiting for them to get down to it!!
I absolutely loved Parker, he was so gorgeous, and exuded power and control. I loved the way, he managed to stick firm with Rox and how he wouldn't sleep with her, even though he had every opportunity to. Which made Rox even more desperate to get her hands on him.
Roxane was also a fantastic character to continue following in this series. She is completely in control, gorgeous, focused, and knows what she wants. Well, that is until Parker came along.
This novella was action from start to finish, with some great lines, stupidly hot foreplay, and a few dramatic little twists too.
If you want a quick, easy, and crazy hot read. I highly recommend this book, and series.
I can't wait for the next one! 4 Stars.
**I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
What I like about this series is the main hero Parker, wasn’t your usual arrogant alpha male. He actually didn’t want to have sex with Roxane and then walk away. He was looking for “the one”. He wanted a commitment not a one night stand. Personally I feel he could have done so much better but like real life, you can’t help who steals your heart and for some unknown reason, Roxane had stolen Parker’s.
But Roxane, omg she was a pain at times. She’s got this huge thing going on with her feelings towards Parker which conflict with how she feels her Father would react to a relationship between them. This is where her immaturity comes in and at times I found her very irritating. There was a point around chapter 10 when she started to try and top Parker and this didn’t really fit in with her character at all but it came to nothing and Parker regained control lol.
Ms Parish writes a good story and she does write characters that you either love or hate. I felt the book was slightly rushed towards the end but there is another book coming so that’s good.
I would recommend this series solely because Parker is a different type of alpha man which makes a refreshing change.
5 Stars for Lyra Parish and her follow up to Single Volume 1!! Time to add Parker Williams to your BBF list! Roxane VanBuren has found the one man that is crossing her set rules and working his way into her heart. Parker Williams also has a set of rules that he needs to be met to make this relationship work. Love shouldn’t be so hard. But when your heart has been shattered before, you do what you can to protect it. Will either one be able to get past their “rules” and let their love for each other happen? After finishing Single Vol. 1 I couldn’t wait for this one to come out! I needed to make sure that Roxane didn’t do anything stupid and lose Parker Williams! The man oozes sex appeal, romance, and chivalry in Vol 2. There was a twist I did not expect and all I thought was “No”! Okay a little dramatic, but that is how into the book I was. I’m a fan, what can I say?! Thank you Lyra Parish for another 5 Star read!
Sometimes love can be cruel. Not that Roxane has fallen in love but the one man she found interesting has crossed from her personal life into her professional one which makes life complicated.
Parker Williams doesn’t take no for an answer, not that Roxane would deny him anyway. OK so this picks up where book 1 left off.
Roxanne and Parker are still fighting their attraction to each other. Add to that Roxanne dad has thrown a spanner in the works that will see her relocate to New York and her fear that her father is going to catch them out in a relationship, things are not looking to be easy for them. Oh and let's not forget an appearance from both exes that could threaten their future together before it even gets started.
Like book 1 there is lots of hot teasing moments and lots of steam, combined with Roxanne and Parkers sense of humour and this makes for a quick hot read.
Things in the fast lane are about to speed up and Roxanne and Parker find themselves hanging on for the ride of their lives.
This is a good book to settle down with a glass of wine for a quick fast paced sexy quick read!! Can't wait to see what happens in book 3!!
TRACY'S REVIEW 4 Stars
He has his own set of rules that must be followed while hers are being crossed through like a to-do list.
When a person falls in love, it’s supposed to be easy but it’s much more complex than either realized it could be. Roxane’s control is slipping along with every opinion she had about love. This time, it feels different. This time, it finally feels right.
Slowly she realizes how much is at stake, but she is only concerned about losing one thing—her heart.
So if you read the first one we pick up where Parker just left Roxane satisfied in her office. Roxanne is starting to think that maybe she could “like” Parker. We know how Roxane feels about love. “Love is the equivalent of stabbing a dagger into a heart and twisting. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that dramatic, but it felt like it to me.” Parker talks Roxanne into taking things one day at a time. So with a trip coming up to New York, Roxane decides to do just that, and enjoy spending time with him, where no one is watching.
I loved this one almost as much as I loved the first one. I freaking love Roxane. If she was real I would idolize her. Beautiful, successful, and having a gorgeous man only have eyes for you…what woman doesn’t want that? Then add in the fact that she is funny as hell.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Rox and Parker in the next one.
Single, Volume 1 was an absolute tease. It left me wanting more. More sex. More drama. More mystery. More Roxane and Parker! Parker Williams made one hell of a mark on the book boyfriend stomping ground. He’s not your typical alpha male. He’s sexy, smart, gentlemanly and so determined to get what he wants. He’s managed to make Rox re-evaluate her rules and anti-relationship stance. Both Rox and Parker have had their hearts ripped out for entirely different reasons, but both have rules set in place to make sure it never happens again. That’s right, Parker has his own set of laws to abide by and Rox has a difficult time staying on track.
I can really see some development with the two main characters. They’ve started to open up and come to terms with certain things, and it’s changing the way they interact with one another. Rox is still that strong, independent woman we saw in the first book, but now she’s letting her guard down a bit and letting some vulnerability show. There were times where I felt as if she was trying to be someone else. Her personality did some shifting in certain situations. She also had moments that revealed a less mature version of herself, which contradicted her usual sophisticated persona.
There was some drama put in place towards the end that I thought was going to be a big part of the plot line, but then the story twisted back in another direction. I know this is a serial so obviously they’re going to be quick reads. However, I would’ve liked that situation to be dragged on a bit, because it seemed to much like a simple filler as it was written. The rushed ending left me feeling a bit restless.
Nevertheless, I’m hooked on these characters and this story and I can’t wait to see what Lyra Parish puts them through next.
Roxanne VanBuren is all about control. As a businesswoman and a single woman, she prides herself on letting her head rule her heart regardless of the situation.
Parker Williams has one mission – unravel and unlock Roxanne’s control and force her to see that letting go and opening up to him can set her free in limitless ways.
She has rules but so does he, and as things continue to heat up between them in more than just a physical way, it will be interesting to see who overrules the other one and to what extent Roxanne’s single minded focus will prevent her from committing.
In Volume 2 of Single, complications arise that have both Roxanne and Parker questioning what they truly want from each other. The tables get turned on Roxanne on more than one occasion in Volume 2, and she finds herself in a situation that she never thought she’d be in again. Lyra Parish does a good job of illustrating Roxanne’s struggle and discomfort with wanting and ultimately needing Parker. Her heart’s on the line again and that worries her because there’s a business aspect to her relationship with Parker that could ruin various aspects of her life.
Parker Williams is a complex man, and I don’t think readers are privy to everything about him just yet. He’s a perfect book boyfriend because he exudes alpha male sexiness and he knows how to handle his woman and make no mistake, Roxanne is his woman. Roxanne definitely makes him work for every encounter with her, but Parker remains steadfast in his pursuit and his rules in doing so.
It will be interesting to see where Lyra takes Roxanne and Parker in Volume 3 with what went down at the end of Volume 2. I can definitely see some complications heading their way due to the complexity of their personal and working relationships. I can’t wait to see if Roxanne remains single or allows her heart control for once and gives into what Parker wants.
A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my word! Where do I start? I freaking loved Vol. 1 in this serial. I freaking loved this one too but I missed the Parker of Vol. 1. Don't get me wrong, I freaking loved him in this but, at times I really missed the Parker who took control in Rox's office. I did like seeing a softer side to him here but, it was almost too soft. That is right up until Alex and then Jake. I freaking hate Jake. I didn't feel this strongly about him in Vol. 1 but I do now. Rox really backed down too easily in this one. I wanted that intense back and forth between the two but I missed it here. I also missed time with Stacey's character. I loved her character and I missed her presence here. All of that being said, I really loved this. It ended the way I figured it would but I was so not expecting so much of the stuff that happened to happen. I love that and it makes for a much more interesting read. I am so caught up in this story. I can't wait for the next Volume. I want part 3 today! Can I please get it now? I want to know what is going to happen when Rox returns to work. Will Jake be the villain or will Parker's past be the villain? I sense some drama coming and a hard road ahead. I almost wish it was ending here. But, I have to know what is going to happen next. I have to know if Parker and Rox are going to get their HEA. This is definitely a must read serial. I just wish I had to whole story now. I do love how it is drawn out and that I can read it quickly and be this satisfied with what I read. I so look forward to more of Parker and Rox and hopefully a return of the more dominate Parker. Maybe a combo of the dominate and caring side to one of the sexiest book boyfriends out there. I am a huge fan of Parker and I can't wait to see what happens next! ~Lisa
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I was so ready to jump in and read the second part of this serial. Things were heating up between Rox and Parker. Now they are going to New York together for business of course.
Rox still has her rules in place and will not break the final one “no cuddling”. I love that we also find our Parker also has rules that he is not willing to break. His #1 rule is causing the sexual tension between these two to go through the ceiling. I love that he is in control and confident but at the same time is sweet and so in-tune with Roxane. I was cracking up through this I so love Stacey.
Parker is so dominant, self confident, and cocky I normally would get irritated with someone like this but Parker really pulled it off well. I loved him more because of the way he was. Even though he was all this I loved that he gave the reins to Rox to a point when it came to the relationship. Again because of his “rules” the sexual tension was almost too much to take. Seriously how much does one girl have to endure before he gives in.
Few of my favorites:
It wasn’t just dinner, and he wasn’t just a person. He made me feel things that I had been afraid to explore for years, and that alone was frightening as fuck.
“Let’s take whatever this is one day at a time. I don’t want to worry about the future. I don’t want to worry about the what-ifs, could-bes, or might have beens. I want to focus on the right now with you.”
“Fuck. Just meet him. He’s hot. Let me recant that statement. He’s really fucking hot. Guys like that don’t just fall from space, okay? Meet him. And if you don’t, I’m going to text him from your phone and set it up for you. Don’t be your own personal cock block. Seriously,”
“He didn't fit the bill for the type of men I was attracted to; he'd basically written it.”
Parker Williams, you started digging your way in to my heart in Volume One, well now that I finished Volume Two…I am never letting you go! Ladies, Parker is the perfect blend of alpha. He is a lawyer, the definition of sexy from head to toe all while sporting a sweet smile and sassy mouth. It is no wonder why Roxy’s walls around her heart are crumbling. Love is something that Roxy took off the table when her fiancé died, but Parker is making her rethink everything. She has changes coming up in her career and she is finding it harder and harder to keep him at arms length. Will Parker remain a part of her future plans after having to leave abruptly? You need to read to find out!
“Parker Williams was a poisoned apple that I craved.”
You will in fact crave Parker Williams. You will crave this serial. The Volumes are the perfect escape. The characters are entertaining and likeable, I love all of them. Roxy is awesome. Even if she cannot figure out her love life, she speaks her mind and doesn’t back down. I adore when the female lead actually has a spine. I also LOVE her friend Stacey, she is the perfect BFF! The story sucks you in and keeps you wanting more. Volume 2 did the same as Volume One, it did not leave me hanging, but it left me not just wanting more...needing more! I just cannot get enough of this couples story.
Single, Vol 2 carries on from Vol 1 so you need to of read the first book in the series before you read this book. Love is not simple for the 2 main characters in this story. They both have "rules" for what needs to happen in a relationship for it to work, so with Roxane and Parker having different ideas on how relationships are meant to work, there's a lot of clashing between the too. I appreciated that both of the characters had been through a heart break and that they were protecting themselves and their heart by putting these rules in place, but it was stopping them from finding 'true love' that was obviously standing in front of each other. I loved Roxane and Parker in this book as much as I did in the first book. Parker was a lovely character who was refreshing to read about. He wasn't your usual alpha male that's in your face with his demanding and possessive ways, but instead he was a nice, sweet man who was trying to be careful with his heart and was very loving and nice towards Roxane. Volume 2 was just as good as Volume 1. I enjoyed learnt more about both characters in this book and also learning about their lives. Lyra Parish wrote another great book that flowed nicely and that I read in one go. The book was very short and I was left wanting more. I can't wait until volume 3 is released and I get to find out how things work out for both the characters. 4 stars
The continuation of Roxane and Parker's story was a great read! Parker is such a lovable character, he is book husband worthy! Every once and awhile, I come across a hero character that is not extreme flawed but yet is still interesting, engrossing and holds all the appeal you want in an alpha. Parker is that man!
Rox and Parker are so hot for each other, despite Roxane trying to deny her feelings. As each page went by, I loved Parker more than the page before. It is a great change of pace to read a book where the roles are more or less reversed with a man looking for a serious relationship and the woman wanting only an unattached physical connection. Lyra does an excellent job of making you understand where Roxane is coming from and why she is the way about relationships. This makes it easier for when you want to hit Roxane upside the head for being so unsure and resistant to Parker. The chemistry between Rox and Parker is on fire and makes for a sexy story!
Overall, I loved this continuation to Roxane and Parker's story! There were ups and downs, hot and sexy, sweet and loving, and even a twist in the book. I highly recommend this serial!!
This is the second installment in this series and was ah-ma-zing! This book flowed right from book one and left me wanting so much more. I cannot wait for the next installment!
This is the continuation of Roxane's story. Roxane is determined to resist Parker, no matter how much her heart and body want him. Parker wants Roxane... only he wants her for more than one night. But as these two spend more time together and get to know each other, her resolve begins to slip. Will Roxane let Parker in and give him a chance? Packed full of steam, great banter, twists & turns, and one sexy man who will make you fall hard, get ready for one HOT ride.
I loved Parker. I loved his insistence and how he is not the typical alpha male (aka manwhore). It is a nice change of pace in the romance world for the guy to want more than one night of sex and for the girl to resist. And Roxane, oh how I wanted to strangle her at times. I wanted to tell her to take that chance on Parker. But these two have tons of chemistry and I can't wait for more from them.
Part 2 picks up right where we left off. Parker is, wow, hot! Roxanne and him have super chemistry and the build up is crazy good. Roxanne has all her rules for a reason and Parker is determined to break through them one at a time, but Roxanne isn't the only one with rules and Parker isn't so willing to start breaking all of his just yet.
Roxanne keeps telling herself that she has to stay away from Parker. She doesn't have relationships and especially not with co-workers. Parker really isn't making it easy on her though. He keeps seeping into her mind and he's all she can think about. It seems fate just wants to keep these two close and they both go to New York together for a business trip, alone. When they're in New York they fall into a sweet little romance. They're away from prying eyes at home and can be themselves, but things aren't always perfect and soon reality comes crashing back down for these two.
I love this series so far and can't wait to see if Roxanne and Parker get their happily ever after.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading this book (s) first Single, Volume 1
This story is more of Roxane. Roxane feels that Parker is bad for her so she must resist him. Only problem is he is just too hard to resist. The more time they spend together the more they learn about each other. Some good and some bad things come to light but can they work through it all? But when she opens herself up it seems he turns her away. So will this make her retreat even more into herself? Will Parker be able to win her back or should he move on and let her go?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.
Rox is fighting her feelings for Parker. Parker is not giving up. They have a business trip to New York. Its one day of business and the other 3 days to enjoy New York. They go to their meeting and things aren't going as expected. Good thing Parker went with Rox to the meeting. After the meeting they went out for lunch, then back to the hotel. They were supposed to meet up and go out. They went sight seeing and enjoyed each others company. The next morning as they were enjoying breakfast Parker received an unexpected call, and it wasn't what he expected at all. He didn't know what to expect and just left Rox in the hotel. Rox was devastated and then got angry. She took the next flight home for what? who knows? Nothing was the same, would it ever be the same? You will find out if you read this book.
Single Vol.two continues Rox's journey of being a badass business woman and living the single life. The later is not so easy with Parker in her life. Can Rox spend a week with Parker in NYC and keep it all business or is Parker going to continue to chizzle away at the walls around Rox's heart.

I Received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions in this review are my own. I was very excited to be reading the second installment of Lyra Parish's Single series. I enjoyed meeting Roxane and Parker in the first book and this installment brings more depth to their story. Not only do readers get more details about the characters Roxane begins to grow and change for the better. The romantic scenes take on a sweet and steamy tone rather than just steam and new love/lust. This book is just as enjoyable and relatable as the first. I felt like I was traveling with the setting descriptions that Parish provided. I like the way Roxane and Parker interact more with each other as well. I think that many readers will find this to be a great read. I recommend this for those that are looking for a good book.
Blown away! I enjoyed the ups and downs in this book. When Parker walks in and shakes up Roxane world you just can’t put the book down. Roxane bond and determined to keep Parker as just a fling, seems to have her world up ended when Parker decides he wants much more from her. You’re going to laugh, scream and want to pull your hair out at times. These two light the pages up and keep things rolling. Parker knows what he wants and willing to win at all cost, Roxane is just as determined and always wins. The battle of wills with them is so fun to see play out. Just when you know they have found the right road something is tossed into the mix and has them running the other way. I enjoyed the suspense, this red delivers. Amazing work! Looking forward to more from Lyra!
As you know this is the second book in the series and I wanted more Parker; that's exactly what I got. I swear I was so enamored with continuation of this story I totally ignored every responsibility I had. This picks up where volume one ends. We get a look into what both Rox and Parker's lives. Getting to really know them is very entertaining. The Angst you experience is incredible, but the real deal is outta this world. I'm so glad this volume didn't leave me hanging! It is filled with lust, passion, strategy and pain. I'm going to go crazy waiting to see what the next volume brings, but as long as I get to experience more Parker, it will be worth the wait! Once again Lyra amazed me! 5BadAssDirtySexy&ShockingStars!

bk continues where we left Parker and Roxanne in bk 1. We see both Roxanne and Parker break thier rules and I love it. They are perfect together, the banter between the two is so enjoyable. Roxanne is use to being in charge, calling the shots but with Parker she gets weak and who wouldn't. Parker doesn't just sleep around for the hell of it, it has to mean somthing, it kinda role reversal and I love it. But things aren't going to be easy for them, there's Roxanne father, her ex, and people from her past, but parker is giving up without a fight, but will a blast from him past come into the mix. I truly loved this story , the characters, definitely a must read and definitely a 5 star.
Will Parker break through all of Rox's walls? Now that they are working together, it gets harder to avoid the attraction that she has for Parker. Parker has his own rules so how will these 2 dominant, head strong personalities find a way to come together? I love the interactions between Parker and Rox – they are both dedicated to their careers and know what they want in life which gives them both depth. Their intimate moments are off the charts and Parker's restraint is amazing. Lyra Parish gave me several twists along the way and I'm so excited to see what happens next!
I read the first book in this series in an anthology and I really loved it & the second one delivered as well.. it's a great strong woman falls for a hot man book. I also really liked that a lot of the issues you typically see with men in these stories were with Roxanne rather than Parker. She had a sordid past and commitment issues rather than him... it's a nice change on the story. I know it seems like a typical book but it really keeps your interest! I cant wait for the next one!
I received a copy of Single, Volume 2 by Lyra Parish in exchange for an honest review. Book 2 continues where book 1 left off with dear old Rox and Parker. I am really enjoying this three part book series. I got so into the story that time flew and it really didn't take long to read it. I get a kick out of Rox's friend Stacey on how she keeps telling Rox that you better snatch up Parker before she does. The story is well writing and very entertaining. I so can't wait for book 3.
