When I look back on my love story with Devon Mitchell, I want to feel more than just what we were. I want to know that deep down we had tried everything possible to be what we were.
Talk about a ride.
There is nothing more intense than reunited love... especially when it comes with a slice of anger.
From the moment Devon and Tegan reunited sparks flew... actually bullets flew. Years ago Devon ran from Tegan as a confused boy needing to find his way but he charged back into Tegan's life a self-assured man willing to eradicate anything bad in Tegan's path.
But Devon didn't return to the girl he left behind years ago. Instead he meets a woman in her place who is more than ready to make him own up.
Everything about Devon & Tegan's lost love found again was raw and real and I loved every minute of it.
Especially when action and raw sexual angst are mixed together. Sometimes I just can't believe how hot words can be and coming from Devon... they get pretty hot.

Holy hotness! I'm pretty sure Devon was added to my list of favorite book boyfriends off that line alone. He was bumped up to husband material.
But my favorite part about Invincible was seeing Zerro again. My sexy, mafia prince.

I loved this book. A great addition to the series.
Devon and Tegan were a happy couple...
“Oh, come on,” she said smiling, a giggle escaping her pink-tinted lips. Her eyes were a sparkling blue and her hair reminded me of firecrackers. “Devon Mitchell can do just about anything he puts his mind to.”
...until their graduation day. Devon decided to leave, leaving a heartbroken Teg behind.
“We can’t. There is no me and you any longer, no ‘us.’ So, just leave. Leave me. Leave us. Get out of this run down town and do something with your life that doesn’t involve me...and, Teg? Don’t come back. There isn’t anything here for you anymore.”
Neither of them forgot their time together. Questions went unanswered and hearts were broken.
Years later, Tegan's life is in danger. A great debt looms over her head and once again she feels betrayed by the people around her.
Devon is an FBI agent and very faithful to this job. It takes one vacation for his life to be turned upside down.
When Devon's world collides with Tegan's, things heat up and the past becomes their present. Will they fight their demons and stay together? Will their love stand strong enough? Read to find out!
I loved the characters and I think Devon is my favorite. I also loved the fact that Zerro and Bree make appearences in the book. I enjoyed their involvement immensely!
Overall, a very enjoyable read. Read it all in one sitting.

If you are looking for a romance novel with twists, turns and danger then I recommend this book. I loved also that we got a look into what Zerro & Bree (Indebted & Inevitable) are now doing with their lives.

Invincible: indestructible...
J.L. Beck delivers again with the third addition to the Kingpin Love Affair Series. Invincible is a story filled with heartache, forgiveness, love, hate, hurt, pain, angst and misery... I could go on and on, but you see where I am going. This is a journey filled with emotions. Emotions that felt so very real to me.
If you have ever had your heart broken or broken someone's heart, raise your hand. If you have your hand up in the air then this book has the power to make you relate to these two characters through the agony that they both endured.
Tegan. I loved her. From her red hair to her freckles, but what made me fall was her sense of humor. Her thoughts are priceless and gives you a sense of calmness in those intense moments. With all the feels coming from the left and right, feeling the hilarity in the pit of your stomach balances everything out. While inside of her head, I felt connected to her. Every emotion she has felt, every thought that has ran through her mind, every nightmare that plagued her has once been present in my own life. I love a character that can make me FEEL, and Teg without a doubt made me feel everything.
"My name. He said my name. My heart plummeted, and my knees went weak. My name on his lips, his lips on mine."
Sweet Devon. Let me just say this... this is his story. I love me some Alzerro, I really do but 'Zerro' and Devon are two different characters. Which means two different personalities AND stories.
Now Devon, even though he is the reason behind the angst that flows through this story I could NOT be mad at him. Reading his POV allowed me to see what was going through his head when he made his decisions which allowed me to understand his reasoning behind things. Even though, I wanted to grab him at times, forcing him to look at me with those emerald sea orbs of his until he GOT ME, I couldn't. I couldn't because he was hurt too. He was full of remorse and carrying the weight just as Tegan was.
"Every memory implanted itself into my brain as if being in my heart wasn’t good enough."
Teg is strong, and her strength could be felt off ever page. Dev is vulnerable and she is his weakness. Together, they balance each other out as they travel down a road of rediscovering each other. It's painful, filled with regret, and dangerous more times than not, but it's also real, raw, so intense it's torrid, but mostly beautiful. This is a love story that spans throughout the years. A love story that goes up against time.

Devon and Teg were high school sweethearts, Tegan thought she had her whole life mapped out with Devon, when on graduation day he dropped the bomb on her that would send her life spiraling out of control..
Cut to a few years later, Teg has managed to find herself in a dire situation, and who comes to save the day? None other than..... Yeah sorry can't tell you, but what I can tell you is that we get a cameo from Zerro.

Wow what a great book 3. J.L Beck has done it again.
I absolutely loved Tegan and Devon. Their characters were very different which caused them to have some very interesting and humorous fights, but they also had great chemistry despite being very different.
Tegan is a really sweet character that you will like immediatly. She's very sweet and very much a people pleaser. She especially wants to please her mum all the time. I found I connected with her instantly and loved reading about her.
Devon on the other hand was a badboy growing up. He was always in trouble and didn't have a great start in life. His parents were drug dealers and his life was pretty much going to be a life of crime unless he changed his ways. Luckily Devon didn't want the life that he grow up around. He wanted to better himself and I loved that quality in him. He was so head strong and persistent. Failure for him wasn't ever a option.
He worked extremely hard to get a better life for himself and to get away from the bad boy life he grew up with. He was so strong and inspiring.
Devon and Tegan were high school sweet hearts. This was until Devon broke up with her on graduation leaving her utterly heart broken.
Tegan is now at college living with her boyfriend even though shes never fully gotten over Devon.
This is when Tegan's life changes forever whether she wanted it to or not.
Devon is now in the FBI after changing his life when he finds out about the huge danger/trouble Tegan's in.
He never stopped caring for her, so he decides to help her out and save her. He will do anything he can for her, but with them both trying not to get killed and them both also fighting some serious chemistry, things become very interesting.
The story has so many twists and turns in it, with a bit of danger and mystery to spice it up. I never knew where the story was heading one page to the next and I loved that about it.
The chemistry between the couple was very hot. They obviously had strong feeling for each other and I liked watching there relationship develop throughout the story.
This story was very different to the first 2 books. This story is much lighter and the characters are very different. There is more humor throughout as well. I enjoyed the fact the story was very different to the other 2 in the series and I liked that the author changed it up a lot to keep things fresh, but also giving us the elements we loved still like the danger and mystery.
The story was very well written and I enjoyed the story a lot.

Beck is one of those authors that never ceases to write books that draw you in and hook you from the beginning I love this book Its a great addition yo the Kingpin Love Affair Series Its not as dark as Indebted and Inevitable but you do get a peek into life for Zerro in the book!! It's book and love story perfection and a book you should not miss

For those of you that have been reading the Kingpin series you met Devon in book 2. This is Devon and Tegan's story. They were once high school sweethearts until Devon broke Tegan's heart and left town. Fast forward a few years and now Devon is a hotshot FBI agent who has been placed on a forced leave of absence for a month. Of course he in not happy about it. He decides to visit his hometown and investigate a case and to see if Tegan is still there. He finds Tegan in a diner and she is in a whole mess of trouble. Now he is on a mission to save her and the love they once had because once he sees her he never wants to let her go again. This book gives you a bit of a background on both Devon and Tegan and how they grew up. Neither one of them had an easy childhood and it seems that Tegan didn't have an easy time after Devon left either.
Now for those of you looking for the typical “darkness” you are used to in this series. This is NOT it. It's different and keep in mind this is a standalone book. Zerro does make an appearance here and there but this book is not about him. In all honesty, this book wasn't as fast paced as the others in this series or any of J.L. Beck's books as I would have liked. That is not necessarily a bad thing though. I am only one person. Once the pace picked up, it really picked up! There were some epic moments and some even awww moments. So, I will give this one a 4 because it did leave me with a smile on my face at the end. Thank you J.L. Beck you did it again with another HEA.

Teagan and Devon were high school sweethearts; they were in love, until he decided to leave her. He left her broken hearted and alone. She thought this is as bad as it gets, she was wrong. Now tangled up in a shit storm because her ex Jamie decided to leave her high and dry to pay is tab.
Things got way worse, and it looked like there was no end in sight for her. Devon thought he’d made the right decision to leave Teagan when he joined the service. It wasn’t a job that made having a family easy. He’d broken his heart and hers to save her from hating him in the end. Thinking she was off living her life to the fullest until he finds out she’s right in the middle of the action in his home town, and he needs to rescue her.
This is book three in the series and I have to say I loved this series. Devon and Teagan made me fall in love with them just like Zerro and Bree. The fierce alpha male in Devon is demanding and sexy, while the sweetness of Teagan mixed with her snark lends comedic moments throughout. J L knows exactly how much vulnerability to give her woman along with just enough “I’ll throat punch you if I have to” thrown in.
As always and yes I mean always because I’ve read four of her books so far and they all have the most amazing sex scenes. I swear my kindle almost burst into flames a few times while reading. I mean come on Devon knows how to lay it down like a porn star. The detail is exhilarating, Devon is demanding, aggressive, dominating, and makes you sweat. I’ll definitely keep reading her books I’m a fan for life.

I just loved this book. I fell in love with Devon in Inevitable (A Kingpin Love Affair book 2). He is the unexpected Prince Charming. Back in high school, Devon had found the love of his life Tegan. She was smart, sweet, sexy and his everything. They planned to be together forever, until Devon ended their relationship at their high school graduation, leaving a very heart broken Tegan. Years pass and Devon is brought back to his home town to investigate a case. He unexpectedly bumps into Tegan and Devon finds that leaving her years ago only made her life worse than better. Determined to help her, he stops at nothing to protect her, even if it means putting his career and life in danger. Devon is also determined to win Tegan back and make up for lost time. Will Tegan be able to get out of the trouble she has been put in with the help of Devon? Can their love overcome years of hurt, and their hearts beat again as one?
This story was beautifully written. I loved the humor, lust, sexiness, action and most of all how hard Devon and Tegan fought for their love. JL Beck just keeps getting better and better! Can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

This story was beautifully written. I loved the humor, lust, sexiness, action and most of all how hard Devon and Tegan fought for their love. JL Beck just keeps getting better and better! Can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

I am totally in love with this series. in my opinion they just get better and better as they go on. JL you rock. Thanks for sharing such great stories with us.
This is the third book in the series. It is a standalone, but I liked the fact that I read the first two because it gave you a background of the secondary characters. This is not a dark read but does contain angst, drama, and romance of course.
This was an emotional read for me. Tegan and Devon were amazing together, but had so much heartache in their life. Devon blames himself for Tegan's problems because of the choices he made years ago. He thought he was doing the right thing but that doesn't always work out that way. I loved seeing them try and find their way back to each other. This is a definite must read. I am always looking forward to JL's next book.

Invincible is book three in A Kingpin Love Affair. It can be read as a standalone. Invincible is Devon and Teagan's story. If you read the first two you'll be happy to know we do get a little Zerro in this one too. Devon broke Teagan's heart before. She has moved on but to a crappy boyfriend , Jamie. Jamie has borrowed money and can't repaid it. He flees and leaves Teagan to take care of his debt. Devon is now a FBI agent. He is on a break from work when his path crosses with Teagan again. They both still have feeling for each and things between them pick up pretty quickly.
Invincible is a great story. It's not dark like the first two instead it's more of a great love story. It has some suspense, steamy scenes, and some surprising twists and turns. I definitely was not disappointed with this one.

This is the third book in the Kingpin Love Affair series and one of my favorites!
Tegan thought she had found the love of her life, the one she would she spend the rest of her life with, yet in a matter of minutes all her dreams and hopes were crushed with two words, "It's Over."
As I read what Tegan had gone though after Devon left her it broke my heart, because try as she might, she could not stop loving him. Now that he's "sprung" back into her life, she kept reminding herself that two words broke her heart years ago.
There is a lot of action involved, and I loved seeing the Alpha in Devon come out to protect Tegan, come what may. Now will Tegan find it in her heart to forgive Devon? Will they get their HEA? ~ Kara, 4 Sweet Sexy stars

Another amazing story from JL Beck!!! I absolutely love Devon and Teagan!!! JL Beck definitely knows how to write a book that is action packed, suspenseful, hot, and a great story. I was completely taken in on the first page and could not put it down. I truly felt like I was there and felt all the emotions with the characters. I highly recommend not just this book, but all of JL Beck’s books. She is an amazing author and I simply cannot get enough and cannot wait until the next book.

Another awesome job by J.L. Beck. Invincible surpassed it's previous books with the emotional connection i got with this. I love all of J.L.'s books, this one though, she has outdone herself. With the mix of love, hotness, suspense, and holy sH*tness; it is an overall awesome book... I cannot wait to read what else comes out of her sleeve!

Tegan Anderson y Devon Mitchell tenían un romance adolescente, hasta el momento en el que Devon decide romper con ella, para así alejarse de su familia y esa vida complicada. Años después, Devon regresa al pueblo donde se crió y coincidirá con Tegan, su amor de infancia, la cual está metida en serios problemas.
Con el libro anterior sabía que Devon era una persona maravillosa, y este libro me lo ha vuelto a afirmar. La manera en que tiende a proteger a Tegan en el pasado, marchándose, pero con el corazón roto solo por el bien de ella. Pero es que reencontrarse de nuevo, es volver a protegerla, ya esté ella metida en situaciones complicadas como si no lo estuviera. Su fin siempre ha sido protegerla.
Tegan me parecía que desde que Devon rompió con ella, no supo cómo poder dirigir su vida y buscarse un futuro. Quedarse en el pueblo para mí fue su perdición para entrar de lleno en situaciones que no tenían que ver con ella. Pero el destino es su salvavidas y la vuelta de Devon es su salvación.
Me pareció un amor tan puro, protector y único, que ellos dos hayan pasado de romperse en añicos a volver a verse y no poder evitar estar separados. Es que ambos eran tan tiernos y perfectos.
Por último, comentar que Zerro, nuevamente, siempre está presente aunque no lo veas. Además, su humor y su labia es de lo mejor de su personalidad. Y bueno, en ese epílogo, me muero de amor.

Tegan Anderson and Devon Mitchell had a teenage romance until the moment in which Devon decides to break up with her in order to get away from his family and that complicated life. Years later, Devon returns to the town where he grew up and coincides with Tegan, his childhood sweetheart, who is in serious trouble.
I knew from the previous book that Devon was a wonderful person, and this book has reaffirmed that for me. The way he tends to protect Tegan in the past, leaving with a broken heart just for her sake. But he met her again to protect her, whether she was in trouble or not. His purpose has always been to protect her.
Tegan seemed to me that ever since Devon broke up with her, she didn't know how to run her life and find a future for herself. Staying in town was her downfall to getting right into situations that had nothing to do with her. But fate is her lifeline, and Devon's return is her salvation.
I found it such a pure, protective, and unique love, that the two of them have gone from shattering into pieces to seeing each other again and not being able to avoid being apart. They were both just so tender and perfect.
Lastly, to comment that Zerro, again, is always present even when you don't see him. Also, his humor and wit are one of the best things about his personality. And well, in that epilogue, I'm dying of love.

This is the next book in the series, new characters. You get the informant in this book. Du perspective, his and hers. She is someone who is just a magnet for trouble. When the good guy walks away for her to be free of his issues, she finds more drama. I will say the guy trying to do the right thing but forgetting to ask the girl what she wants... it's getting to be a bit much. This book features a few different dark topics, some steam, some anger, and some closure. This was an easy read and it was over just like that. I am curious what book 4 will bring.

I loved the characters and I think Devon is my favorite. I also loved the fact that Zerro and Bree make appearences in the book. I enjoyed their involvement immensely!

I was looking forward to reading Devon's story since I have liked him in the previous book from this series. In Invincible, we definitely get to know him up close and personal as I had hoped! He did not let me down; he was everything that I thought he would be. He's a hot, alpha, FBI agent! What more can a girl ask for?
When Devon was in high school, he had a girlfriend named Tegan that he was in love with. When high school ended, he chose to leave town thinking it was what was best for her and himself. He had lived in a town full of drug dealers and he knew he had to get away from that because he wanted out of that life style.
Years have passed and Devon has become a FBI agent and is now on the right side of the law. Even though his dreams have come true for his career, he still is missing the one person he left behind. His heart still belongs to Tegan so he was never able to move on. When he returns home to look into a diner that has been getting complaints about shady dealings, the last thing he expected was to see Tegan.
Tegan's life was not what she thought it would be. She got mixed up with the wrong guy that put her in danger with people he owed money to. Now the bad guys are after Tegan to pay off her ex boyfriend's debt. One night while working, there's a shooting and the one person that broke her heart and left...is now the one saving her life.
Devon and Tegan come across each other in the worst of circumstances. Now that Devon knows Tegan is in trouble, he does everything he can to protect her. He has let her down before and holds himself responsible for the life that Tegan has lived. His feelings for her come back full force and he struggles to not let his feelings get in the way. When he realizes that he can't hold back his feeling anymore, he lets it all out...
"I fucked up years ago. I fucked up with you, with me, with our love...with every fucking thing. I'm trying to make things right, and I will do whatever it takes to make it happen. The feelings I had for you when I pushed you out of my life, I still have, and they will never go away. The chemistry between Devon and Tegan throughout this story is pretty sizzling and so are the love scenes! Devon's alpha male really came out and I loved every bit of it. There were times when I wanted to slap him because he still tried to push Tegan away, but Tegan didn't let that happen for very long...
"He didn't know it, but I would never let him go because, when you love someone the way that I love him, you don't let them give up. Our love was invincible in way, shape and form... I just needed him to realize he was the very reason behind that."
Invincible was not just a love story, it was also a very suspenseful read. There were a lot of twist that took place in the storyline which I've noticed J.L Beck likes to do in her books! I'm not complaining because I enjoyed this story just as much as Indebted and Inevitable. I'm looking forward to see what is next from J.L Beck. I have really enjoyed all of her books that I have read!
