Everything Bug by Cherie Winner, Non Fiction. The teaching point of this book is to teach children about insects and spiders in an engaging and interesting way to younger ages, including pictures and fun facts.

Much of what is presented would actually be familiar to many members of the target audience, but still I love the premise of "Kids' FAQs." Good supplement to a more comprehensive unit on bug-type critters, or a fun read for fans... and two pages worth of resources.

Why don’t spiders stick to their own webs? Why is it so hard to swat a fly? What makes lightning bugs light up? These questions and 27 more are answered in this fact-filled book laced with bright, colorful photos and laid out in an easy-to-read format. Two ages at the end debunk four myths about spiders and insects. An index would have been helpful, but a bibliography and list of websites about insects provide readers with resources for additional information. Bug lovers will be drawn to this fun book like moths to flame. For the classroom, use this as a springboard for student projects in question-and-answer format.

The title of this non-fiction book tells it all. This book talks about almost any topic a student could ask about on the subject of bugs.

The style or format that this author chose was definitely a beneficial one for the reader. Each set of two pages has a question that asks what the information on the pages responds to. The question is in larger font and bolded. It is easy to see and it gives the reader an idea of what is to come on those corresponding pages. It is very useful if you are looking for a specific section of the book or if you are not interested in what the question asks, the reader can skip that section.
