Beck is an idealistic new recruit in the New York City branch of BauerCorp, the world's single provider of material resources. His mentor, Lawless, has brought him under his wing and showed him the inner workings of the Technology Sector, a four person team tasked with creating the next generation in technological revolution. When his friend comes to him with designs for what he believes to be humanities's first chance at mastering time travel, Beck is flooded with thoughts of humanity changing for the better. However, things don't always work out they way we would like. When sinister forces steal Lawless's designs and exile him from the company, they only succeed in provoking Lawless's fury.
