A suicidal billionaire, a burnt-out Washington litigator, and a woman who has forsaken technology to work in the wilds of Brazil are all brought together by an astounding mystery of the testament.
This book was a lot different from John Grishams usual novels but it was so good that didn't matter. Some of the plot was a bit contrived in parts but I just love the way his mind works - he draws you in to his stories ever deeper and once again his book held my interest all the way through. The central character Nate went from being a hard bitten, life scarred alcoholic lawyer with no hooe and no future to a man who found a faith in God which literally changed the rest of his life. Fascinating!
I like John Grisham's novels and movies adopted his novels. He knows what reades want and how readers contend with and write the novels with mixed these appropriately. The Testament was little bit exotic cause the main background was a woods in Brazil. But the main plot was same like other his novels concerned with a legal problem and a lawsuit. Two main characters, one was a millionaire and the other was a lawyer, were lack of something. That was a kind of tie with someone who is a member of families. The story is good, but there are still remaining a douts concerned with a sucide of Troy Phelan. Why did he kill himeslf? and Why did he find his illegitimate daughter? Is there anything between the man and his daughter? If he really want to giver his fortune, he would have to have some reasons to make reades understand his acting. I agree with the opinion he has a power and skills attract his readers. Whenever I reas his book, I wonder about an ending and forthcoming story. However, whenever I read his novel, I can feel that he always trys to stand for justice and good right. Additionally, he wants to put a pure love story between a lawyer and a women at all times. They would just fall in love at first sight even without special reasons. Sometimes I don't like his standard formats and really desirable endings. I'll try to read his new novel, and then revalue at his pieces.
#9 whild i was reading, i was curious why Rachel Lane did not just inheirted the estate. In the story, she needed any kinds of supply because she was so poor and everything was not convenient in the deep place of Brazil. She also thought that she should accept the estate because she did nothing for her father. Hoever, the environment in the story was so bad for those folks because they lived such as in primitive age. a lot of illness was hard to recover because lack of the medicine. If she would to inheirted the estate, she probably purchased any kinds of medicine or equipment that she needed. she could also imporve the enviroment sanitation to become better because it is good for every folk who lived here. when the environment had improved, the illness would become less. In additon, she could also help the folks to have a better education and so on. The other question is why Grisham made up the character Rachel who had no attempt to inheirted so much money. she is really opposite to the other heirs who just wanted to get more the estate. We can see how peopel were so ugly when their benefit was affected through Rachel. People just chaseed the best that they could get, most of them never thought taking care about other people who had a bad situation. I thought we can introspect ourselves if we are as same as those selfish heirs through reading this story.
