This is the second volume of a three-volume work under the general title Exploring Christian Holiness. It deals with the historical development of holiness teaching through the Christian centuries. Hardcover.
I have been a student of holiness history and theology for a number of years, but I can honestly say I learned a ton from this volume. It goes into detail I rarely find in other books on the subject. I’m looking forward to reading volume three.
Volume 2: William Greathouse This series is written from a Nazarene (Wesleyan) perspective so expect a huge emphasis on entire sanctification but these three aren't to be avoided simply because of that. Many non-Nazarene theologians of prominence have praised this series because of how thorough, scholarly, unique, yet readable these are. The three volumes deal with the historical analysis, a biblical analysis, and a systematic theological analysis of the doctrine of holiness. There isn't anything like these nor will be for a while.
