From the author of That Kiss and That Promise, comes another tale of romance and excitement! Sydney Baxter likes her independence. She's strong willed, determined, and well aware that her judgment, pertaining to men, cannot be trusted. When she meets a very sexy Ryan Underwood, she instantly becomes mesmerized. Unable or unwilling to shake her fascination with him, she sets out on a course that could possibly leave her vulnerable...again. From uncertainty to volatile situations, many obstacles stand in the way of her road to happiness, but Sydney's past is the biggest one. Is Ryan's seemingly nice-guy image genuine? Can she trust him, or will he leave her even more damaged? Despite their ups and downs, can Ryan show her he's not like all the rest?
Kate Squires was born and raised in Ohio, where she still resides. She has always loved writing but never, ever thought her life would lead to sitting in front of her laptop for hours on end creating stories other people would read some day. Kate has dabbled in all sorts of odd jobs ranging from dog groomer to dance instructor and even a chicken farmer, but her true passion is creating characters out of thin air and making them do her bidding.
Her published works include That Kiss, That Promise, I Will Catch You, Tracing Hearts, When Love Breaks, When Love Walks, and On the Edge of Regret.

This is a powerful story of an abuse survivor who refuses to remain a victim. Sydney got away from her abuser, but needs to let love in so she will know peace and love. Ryan loves her, but will Sydney be able to love him back?
So glad I got this at a garage sale! It was not a fast read for me, BUT… it got to me only because I’ve been in this situation and could relate. Relating to the main character and being so strong willed and stubborn and yet WEAK at the same time! Almost teared me up a couple times.. but I managed to get through & so LOVED This book and plan on reading more of Kate Squires’ books! *dog lovers should read this book too! ❤️
***SPOILERS INCLUDED IN THIS REVIEW*** This is the first book by this author that I have read. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It took me a little while to get used to her writing style. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and their personalities. I had to laugh about the dancing part of it, it seems like every one in the book knew how to do any type of dance from the Cha-Cha to Two-Stepping. Also, there were aspects of Ryan and Sydney's relationship that confused me. Like how he was already saying "I love you" after what seemed like not much time of knowing each other and after a single kiss or how they had been dating and she didn't even know he had a nephew that he was apparently close with or a brother (which I could understand omitting the brother part since they didn't speak). It was those kinds of little details that made it hard for me to believe in their relationship. The only time I really felt something was when Sequoia was attacked and passed away. I think the ideas were there, but the story just fell short. However, there could be some really interesting stories to be told about Nick, Sarah and John. With all of that said, there are powerful messages for women who are in abusive relationships and healing from the aftermath. You are worthy. You do deserve love and happiness.
First off, let me say that I normally don't read strictly romance novels. They've never really interested me. However, I was seduced by the cover of this book and just had to at least give it a try. I did enjoy the book. Sydney's past and her reactions to Ryan kept me interested in the story. It's written in first person and the writing style is greatly different than other novels I've read in the same perspective. There was only two times I had to re-read a paragraph just to make sure I read it correctly. At one point I found myself rooting for John more than Ryan, hehe.
Spoilers below I'm an animal lover to the point that be it real life, movie, or even a book, I get upset when anything happens to good animals. So what happened with Sequoia had me balling. I kept saying "Save her, dang it!"
One thing that did bug me was when, despite the obviously dangerous abusive past Sydney had with Keith, it surprised me tremendously that she would decline offered help and security. More than once. If I had been her, I would have agreed without a second thought. End Spoilers
All in all, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance.

Love, ME
Kate Squires is brilliant. I absolutely LOVED this book!
Sydney is a very strong-willed woman who, is living life and enjoying going out with her friends, John & Georgia. One night she meets Ryan - and is enamored by him. Although, she mistakes that he's married and wants to avoid him.
Sydney has a horrid past that she struggles with and tries her hardest to let Ryan in & eventually she learns that not all men are the same.
Learning your self-worth is important. You are the only one who has control of your life. I admire Sydney for over coming her fears - she learned that she is worth it and deserves a bright future.

This quote taken from the pages of this book Do Not in any way describe the story with in. "You can't judge a book by it's cover~sometimes the cover is pretty, but the pages are blank" This cover is beautiful and the pages are definitely Not Blank! From the very beginning you are drawn into Sydney's head. You are kept on the edge of your seat waiting. I laughed, I cried, and felt Syd's pain. The contents of this story touches on the sad fact that abuse is out there. It also touches on what an abused woman must do to overcome and persevere the after affects of said abuse. The love scenes are done in a way that "Less is More". I love the fact that I did not get the over abundance of repetitive description. The very first time Syd made love, was written with grace. You knew what she was giving and taking without all the detail involved. I love Kate's style of sweet romance, and gut wrenching sorrow. Thank You Kate Squires for bringing me another wonderful story that I could get lost in. I can't wait for the next.
mWow! kate has totally surprised me in yet another book. This book is powerful on its message, never let yourself stay in an abusive relationship. I love that Sydney was able to get free from Keith & her world seemed okay till "Mr. Beautiful" aka Ryan walked into The Nail. You learn you can't judge a book by its cover. Ryan & Sydney def have true tests to their relationship throughout the story. You will laugh at the way they act with each other. Even though she doesn't tell him right away about her past he is understanding & waits. Ryan is an awesome veterinarian along with his sister Sarah. I loved 7yr old Joshua, so innocent & brave. Maverick & Sequoia are the two coolest dogs! Nick "the motorcycle guy" plays a special part in this story that brings the story another curveball. The strength Sydney finds in herself when she was threatened & weakened the most as tragedy strikes, gives true meaning to revenge served best cold. You will laugh and definitely cry when you don't see it coming. The little things were worth remembering!
Why? As you read this book, you slightly figure out what the hell is going on in this book but when the words finally tell you what the hell happened, it definitely triggered some of the most emotional feelings ever. Whether you cry easily or not, this book is definitely a must read. Though, I wouldn't recommend reading it before bed because: 1. You won't be able to put the book down. 2. You will probably cry your eyes out and look like a puff face when you wake up.
Again, as the synopsis forewarned you all, this book may contain some triggers for people and I woke up with puffy eyes and face after reading this book. Needless to say, my best friend got mad at me for waking her up the next morning and started the conversation out with, 'I cried myself to sleep last night'. She thought something big happened -- Well, scratch that. Something big did happen. I found an author that I know that I can put on my TBR list for all of her books.
I Will Catch You by Kate Squires is a definite must read.
Sydney has a had a rough past. She's not looking for any kind of relationship. She works and goes out dancing. She doesn't know what happens when she meets Ryan for the first time. She is hooked.
Ryan has been knocked through a loop when he meets Sydney for the first time. Then by chance he meets her again when she brings her dog in for a check up.
Sydney doesn't want to let her heart get caught up in another relationship but when her and Ryan get to know each other better she can't help it.
This is a great read that deals with some touchy subjects. It touches the heart and makes you remember that love can help heal.
This is the 4th book I have read by Kate and she hasn't let me down yet! Has she made me cry - YES, has she left me feeling complete at the end of a story - YES, has she given me something different and unexpected - DEFINITELY.
The characters where very well-written, they were so easy to fall in love with. Kate shows us there is is no perfect relationships in the world and we have to work through some, like the Underwood siblings: Ryan, Sarah & Nick. She shows us the friendships can run deep like those with Sydney, Georgia & John. And she shows us the Love can be real, even though it may get a little ugly at times with Sydney & Ryan.
Kate Squires has done it again with another well written story. It will keep you guessing from the first to the last page. It is a story with heartache and pain, but in the end it has love and meaning. Anyone can relate to these characters in some kind of way whether it's finding love or being involved in some kind of tragedy.
Some parts you will need a tissue for and I'm not denying I had some teary eyes at one part. Sydney and Ryan the two main characters are star crossed lovers not meant to find each other....but in the end did. Follow them through the beginning of their relationship and see ALL the obstacles that come between them.
I highly recommend all of Kate Squires books to read.
First book read by this author and I will be reading more from her.
I will Catch you is a great story that covers sensitive subject matters but need to be told to understand Sydney's past.
Sydney has been through hell is her past and is now a strong independent feisty lady, she was not expecting 'Mr Beautiful' aka Dr Ryan Underwood to come dancing into her life and smash down her carefully guarded walls around her broken heart.
Ryan is a hot gentleman who falls head of heels for Sydney and is ruthless is catching her.
This book is a sweet romance read that will make you cry tears of joy and sadness it will also make you smile and laugh a lot.
This book is so well written! It tackles some tough subjects but Kate did an amazing job! I loved Sydney and Ryan's story. There are some heartbreaking moments but there are also amazing ones! All in all I loved this book and highly recommend it <3
An intense yet heartwarming story dealing with the important topic of domestic violence. Wonderful story and characters - I simply could not put this book down once I got started!
