“Nobody Like You Has Ever Existed Before.
Nobody knows your Assignment like you do. This is why it is so important to find the center of your anointing and stay there. Learn your Assignment. Focus on it. Narrow down your life to build around it. Unclutter your life and get rid of anything that does not contribute to your Assignment. Do not dabble in everything. Specialize in what God has told you to do with your life. Do it better than anyone else. Do what you do best.” (Mike Murdock, The Assignment: The Trials & The Triumphs)
This is volume 3 of 4 of the author’s series on The Assignment. Every volume has a different wisdom concerning discovering and fulfilling your Assignment. This volume was not different and covered many different topics, including:
1. Every Assignment has a birthplace;
2. Your Assignment will always enable someone else to succeed;
3. Your Assignment may be revealed by God through a dream;
4. Your obsession with your Assignment determines the success of your Assignment;
5. Your Assignment may require uncommon knowledge in a specific field of study;
6. Because nobody else has received your Assignment, nobody else understands it like you do;
7. Your Assignment will become your legacy to others;
8. You will only be remembered for your obsession;
9. You will never see the miracle hand of God in anything you attempt without Him;
10. Every step toward self-sufficiency is a step away from God;
11. God will never advance you beyond your last act of obedience;
12. Your success in your Assignment depends on your ability to embrace correction;
13. Your Assignment is not to everybody, but to somebody…
31. Your rise to leadership will require excellence in your present Assignment.
Chapter 13: Your Assignment is Not to Everybody, but to Somebody was a chapter that spoke to me personally. The author says, “Everybody does not need you. But somebody does.” He gives examples from the Bible of people who were assigned to either one person or groups of people. For example: Moses was assigned to the Israelites, Aaron was assigned to Moses, Ruth was assigned to Naomi, Saul was assigned to rule over Israel, David was assigned to the Israelites…
So how do you know whom you are assigned? The author gives 21 Keys to help you see who you are assigned too. Some of these keys are:
• You will feel their pain
• You will rejoice when they rejoice
• Their needs matter more than your own needs
• God will anoint you with supernatural wisdom to meet their needs
• You will possess uncommon patience toward them
• You will leave your place of comfort to minister to them
• Their enemies become your enemies
• Their friends become your friends
• Their adversary becomes your own adversity
• Their vision becomes your vision
• Their focus becomes your focus
• You are happy every time you see them
• You will risk alienation from others you love to protect the one to whom you are assigned
• You have a desire to protect them
• You delight in their prosperity
• Their spiritual condition matters
• You will risk personal loss to guarantee their gain
• You will feel uncommon mercy and forgiveness toward them...
You are not assigned to everyone, but you are assigned to someone. This could be a group or only one person. The author helps you to discover through this particular chapter to whom you have been assigned. I thought this was eye-opening because often we think we are assigned to everyone and then our focus and concentration can be diluted and we end up helping no one fully. But if we know to whom we have been assigned, we can focus and concentrate on them and this can yield great results. For example: Parents are definitely assigned to their children, grandparents assigned to their grandchildren, spouses are assigned to their spouses…This can be very freeing when you discover to whom you have been assigned. Remember, “you are not responsible for everyone…you are responsible to someone.”

5. To destroy a man with a great dream, give him a second one. It will fragment his focus, dilute his energy and destroy his concentration.
6. Champions make decisions that create the future they desire. Losers make decisions that create the present they desire.
7. Learners become leaders. Leaders
are always readers.

10. Survival involves solving your problems. Promotion involves solving the problems of others.
11. God will never promote you unless you are over-qualified for your present assignment.
