They've lived in orbit around planet Lumus for centuries and, for all they know, no one else exists but them. However, they don't know how their race got here. No history book has an answer and no historian has the guts to find out. It's as if the history of their race, the human race, originated in orbit around this planet. Any knowledge of their distant past has either been erased or their Prime Director is correct--they were birthed here. Most don't question it. Some do. Regardless, life is undisturbed. All they know is peace. There is no torment, no struggle and no war. The starships and starfighters that make up their military -- Star Guild -- are for show, unneeded, and manufactured only to help with tech research. They know of no enemy, no threat, no carnage, and because of this... ...they aren't prepared for what's coming. Star Guild consists of episodes, much like shows on television. Chapters do not reside here. Each episode is written in novelette form and well worth the read. Star Guild is action packed and riveting, and with every heart pumping page you'll be on the edge of your seat, wanting to read what happens next. You'll be carried along, feeling as if you are part of the journey, playing a role in the adventure, and falling in love with the characters as you progress. When an episode finishes, you'll find yourself eagerly awaiting the next.
Brandon Ellis was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up on the outskirts of the city in a little town known as Gladstone, where he graduated high school and moved on to college. After studying Therapeutic Bodywork at East-West College of the Healing Arts, he excelled in his field, becoming one of the Pacific Northwest's leading Therapeutic teachers and bodywork professionals. After several years, the love for writing tugged at his heart so much that he decided to put things aside and live his passion - write. He's now fashioning story after story, creating imaginative worlds of inspiration and art.
Well this is strange, I was sure I had already written a review for this book, but as it's not posted, I must be mistaken. Anyway, what an intriguing and engaging space opera read. Human's who have no idea their passed history is a big fat lie! and that they are really not alone in the universe. Dumbed down intellectually, unknowingly controlled by beings of myths and story telling legends. The veil is starting to lift and the truth is crawling to the surface. After being attacked by unknown aliens, each main character ( of which there are a few) fight to stay alive, keep their family, friend's and people safe and unravel truth from fiction. I'm loving the twist and turns, the fast paced adrenalin throughout and looking forward to reading more of this well written military space opera. Highly recommended. 4.5 Star's.
Humans in space find out that they have been lied to, they are not alone, nor are they free.
Action and adventure in space. When their alien masters are discovered and plans are laid to kill of all the enslaved humans, a few escape, and some are rescued. They meet yet more alien races, and find out there all come from the same planet, Gaia.
This is a wonderful story with fantastic characters. It's full of mystery, action, love and epic battles. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great space fantasy.
Right from the beginning you are expecting something quite different than what you read and I was never able to guess what came next. This is a very good thing if a book is properly written which this one is. It was a tense but enjoyable read!
Stories like this one are intriguing but seem to be a marketing ploy to get you to buy the next book. I don't like that and do not participate. The story is not complete and is left hanging like the old Saturday serials back in the 1950's. If knowing this you want go read, go ahead but don't expect a complete story,,,
The books inside this Omnibus edition collect books 1 to 9 of this series. There's at least another edition that collects books 10 to 18. This is kind of important, because of the 9 books present in this edition, none stand on their own. They are all supposed to be read as part of the whole and as such the action, that never trully stops, continues in varios fronts along all books as the story develops.
Characters are spotlighted in different sections and we get to see everything from that character perspective, complete with inner dialogue, which is quite cool. So as long as they are spotlighted we get quite complex characters, others being only defined by actions or in future spotlights.
This is not my flavor. Not bad at all. The storyline develops the further in you go just like a tea bag. If a smorgasbord of sci fi mersed with old Earth legends sprinkled in fantasy wakes you up then you may have come to the right diner for a bite to eat.
