I listened to the audio book narrated by Mark Barnard, and was given a audio copy for review. I bought the ebook version myself so that I could read along. This is a topic that interests me. UFO'S are not an abstract topic to me, I actually saw something I believe was a UFO so I am not as skeptical about the subject as some folks might be. I would highly recommend getting both the ebook and audio book, that way you can just click on the links provided.
This is a very interesting book, speculating on what we see, who they are, why they are here, what do they want.. J. D. Lovil has given this topic a lot of thought and done in depth research, much of it online. It's good that Mark Barnard is a clear reader because there is quite a bit of information and intelligent reasoned speculation. It is unfortunate that he has to read the link addresses, but I don't know how else you would give them in an audio book. I really liked the fact that the author doesn't come at the subject with an agenda. He gives an overview but doesn't jump to conclusions. He puts a lot of ideas out like scattershot, some sound plausible, some really far fetched. The quantum physics stuff was hard for me to follow.
I liked the humor and easy approach Lovil took to the various aspects of the UFO phenomenon. Since, as he admits, we don't know anything for sure, he looks to what conclusions could be drawn from the vast amount of sightings, reports and our own known history. He references Sitchkin's work but doesn't rehash it. He also provides numerous links to blogs, videos, and other online material, much of it free.
This book is a good starting place for someone that is just delving into the mystery of UFO'S and an addition to any collection of books on the subject.
