It's a good read- I really focused on the language and literacy section, but throughout you see best practice in action with wonderful suggested activities- making this a great resource for new teachers I would recommend

This is a very comprehensive book, touching on all the domains of early childhood learning. I love that it shows a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities while remaining developmentally appropriate. I also appreciated the separation of Social Studies from social-emotional development. There are lots of practical suggestions, especially for the beginning teacher. It would make a great text for a college course or useful for mentoring new teachers. My only complaint would be that there was not much on using technology. Technology can be appropriately used in every domain and since this was a "revised" edition, I would have expected to see some of that listed.
