Rev. Kenneth Erwin Hagin, known as the “father of the modern faith movement,” served in Christian ministry for nearly 70 years.
In 1968, Rev. Hagin published the first issues of The Word of Faith magazine, which now has a monthly circulation of more than 300,000. The publishing outreach he founded, Faith Library Publications, has circulated worldwide more than 65 million copies of books by Rev. Hagin, Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin, and several other authors. Faith Library Publications also has produced more than 9 million audio teaching CDs.
In this easy to read book Kenneth E. Hagin demystifies the Gift of Prophecy, and its difference from the office of the Prophet. He shared spotlight across these areas:
In Chapter 1 The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament Church, he shared the importance of Prophecy as supernaturally speaking in a known tongue by the HolySpirit
In Chapter 2 Prophecy in the Old Testament, he explained how Prophecy in the old testament was majorly foretelling as against much of forth telling in the New.
In Chapter 3 The Purpose of Prophecy, he shared the major role of Prophecy in Edification, exhortation and comforting the body of Christ.
In Chapter 4 The Difference Between Prophecy and Interpretation of Tongues he shared also from the scriptures how Tongues with interpretation is an equivalent of Prophecy. While Prophecy doesn't always need tongue to function but interpretation does.
In Chapter 5, Guidance and the Gift of Prophecy, he shared how things need to be done decently and in order in line with the scriptures while in Chapter 6, Seven Steps To Judging Prophecy he shared 7 vital steps every Prophecy can be held up against to be sure of its authenticity.
The book while encouraging believers to tap into all of God's gifts warns against falling into excesses and fanaticism in the use of spiritual Gifts.
All operations of the Spirit must point to Jesus and glorify God.
I came across K. E. Hagin's books early this year, and I've been so blessed by every single one.
This book in particular offers sound teaching and scriptural context regarding the gift of prophecy in the present day church. This book contains practical teaching whether you are a new believer or seasoned in faith. I highly recommend.
This book blessed me a lot. I used it to study about the nine gifts of the Spirit. I gained knowledge and understanding reading this book. It was a quick read and I intend to read it again and again.
This was a quick read (70 pages) about the spiritual gift of prophecy. Rev. Hagin writes well and relates well to the reader. This is a handy book to help one identify the ability to receive prophetic messages.
