Danny really thought suicide would be the end of everything. His life had been going so well. He was sure he was fated for something really grand, really important. So why, despite all reason, did he shoot himself rather than the crazy ex-girlfriend who was trying to kill him? Why had he ignored that voice in his head screaming to shoot her with the gun he had just found? The voice had been demonic, and since he disobeyed it Hell didn’t want him. His life was on track to bring about a great evil, had he not offed himself, so Heaven didn’t quite trust him. Thus, Danny has been left to wander the Earth, unseen and unheard, not alive but unable to die. Fateless. That is, until that same ex-girlfriend finds him once again, offering him a chance to make amends. A chance to reclaim his fate.
I’ve been writing for a long time, through med school, military service, and the rest of life’s odds and ends. Now the task which weighs upon my mind is how to polish and promote the writing I’ve done.
3.5⭐️ What an entertaining yet peculiar read. Imagine if a clairvoyant told you you would perform an act so heinous that you were better off dead and years later she sends her grandsons to kill you. Danny has a reading by a soothsayer foreseeing something terrible in his future. Years later Danny winds up killing himself, leaving him stranded to wander earth for eternity. Enter one of Danny's ex school friends who also happens to see the dead, the beautiful and charming Lupita. I flew through the first four chapters getting to know Danny and his friends but then the story hit a couple of speed bumps which slowed me right down and caused some confusion in the actual plot. Some important information had been left out which I found dispiriting because this book has such potential. I was frustrated at how much the story focused on Lupita's looks instead of her personality whereas Danny was very fleshed out and quite humorous at times. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I would like to read more by this author and not base my opinion on one book.
