Welcome to Creighton Falls, New York… a town time forgot where miracles happen…
Glamorous city girl Hannah Ford wasn’t thinking when she walked out of a Christmas party and drove three hundred miles into a snowstorm; she just needed to escape. Thankfully local carpenter Sam Taylor comes to her rescue, and the unlikely pair are forced to spend a snowed-in Christmas together.
All Sam planned for Christmas was to get drunk alone. The holiday has always been something to be endured, until Hannah tumbles into his life, making it magical. Now Hannah and Sam have a chance to have a Christmas together… and make it the best one either of them have ever had.
But can one night out of reality turn into something that’s lasting and real?
Kate is the USA Today-bsetselling author of many books of both historical and contemporary fiction. Under the name Katharine Swartz, she is the author of the Tales from Goswell books, a series of time-slip novels set in the village of Goswell.
She likes to read women's fiction, mystery and thrillers, as well as historical novels. She particularly enjoys reading about well-drawn characters and avoids high-concept plots.
Having lived in both New York City and a tiny village on the windswept northwest coast of England, she now resides in a market town in Wales with her husband, five children, and two Golden Retrievers.
When Hannah Ford got upset at a holiday party when her ex-boyfriend showed up with his new girlfriend she wasn't thinking straight when she hopped in a car and decided to just drive to get away and clear her head. Right before Christmas she heads north until she ends up near the Canadian border in a small town with a blizzard steadily coming down. Pulling off the highway her small car immediately gets stuck in the unplowed roads.
Sam Taylor is out on the roads that night having come from plowing a driveway when he pulls over to offer Hannah help. With only one place to rent a room in the small town and it being closed for the holidays Sam offers to let Hannah stay with him which she reluctantly agrees to. With the blizzard dropping nearly three feet of snow and the snow plows no where in sight Hannah ends up having to spend the holiday with Sam who is very much used to being alone on the holidays.
Another lovely holiday read that has the characters bringing out the best in each other during a tough situation and dealing with their own ghosts haunting their holidays. Sam and Hannah couldn't be more opposite of each other but when together they just seem to work.
At novella length this is another great quick read romance I'd recommend to curl up with during the holiday season.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I’m definitely in the festive mood after reading this lovely Christmas story!
Hannah Ford is New York city born and bred but she’s just walked out of a Christmas party and driven over three hundred miles into a blizzard just to escape. Unfortunately, other than a signpost indicating the Creighton Falls is the next time, she really doesn’t know where she is, where she’s going, what she’s going to do - and it is nearly Christmas! Not only that but now her car’s going nowhere, stuck in the snow. She needs rescuing and quick! She’s fed up of artificial and is really looking for something real in her life.
Sam Taylor is a local carpenter and accountant, country born and bred. He’s returning home, intending to spend Christmas with a bottle for company when he finds Hannah and rescues her. As more snow falls, they’re going to be stuck together for Christmas . . . . and when you read it you’ll find it is the best one they’ve ever had! However, can one night turn into something much longer lasting and real for them both?
This is a chance romance, The two seem such opposites but they’re exactly what each other needs to break down the barriers they’ve erected around their hearts and help them find their HEA together. It isn’t a straight forward rush towards love, there are plenty of obstacles, misunderstandings, emotions and distance to get in the way but it is a delightful journey to accompany them on and a brilliant festive read that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a Christmas romance to escape into.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
This is such a sweet romance by Kate Hewitt. It takes place in upstate New York and the characters are well developed for such a short story. I'd like to see more of Hannah and Sam in a future book!
I received this book from NetGalley and Tule Publishing for an honest review.
This ebook was included with my Kindle download of "A Yorkshire Christmas" and it is virtually identical to the plot of that story.
Here it is:
A beautiful (of course) woman from the big city ends up in a small town where she just happens to be rescued by a handsome (of course) man. They spend a few days together and it's true love. Obviously.
I actually liked this story slightly better but it was still pretty weak. Also - neither story really had anything to do with Christmas other than that the stories were set at that time of year. At least it was a free download. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on it!
This book was almost exactly like the last one except the names have changed. Girl gets stuck in the snow right before Christmas. Boy finds girl and they spend Christmas together, but they come from different lives and it can’t work...or can it? 🙄

My thoughts: This was boring and the setting was better than the story, the steamy parts were just as dull. I already have Book 2 so I'll read it but wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.
Recommend to others: Probably not.

3,75🌟 This novella is about to very lonely soul mates that have scar from the past, and live very different lives. They get stuck together when he rescues her, and they are snowed in. As they discover more about each other and feel an inexplicable connection, they question if a relationship is possible. We get a hea in this nonspicy romance. Free on audible plus catalogue.
Literary bubblegum…. Actually bubblegum would be more enjoyable and would certainly last longer.
Sophisticated city woman runs away because her ex fiancé brings his new gf to a party at Christmastime. ( shocking how couples go to Christmas parties)
Anyway sophisticated city woman drives for 300 miles from the tropical heat of New York City in December to freezing cold tiny town where she gets stuck in the snow. I say tropical heat because the woman has no warm clothes, only “frothy “ ones.
Enter stage left… big burly man to rescue sophisticated city woman. She has to stay in his house because there’s no room at the inn yada yada… cue some deep meaningful conversations a walk in the snow chopping down a tree building a snowman a roll in the hay.
I'm going to keep the review simple, because my incompatibility with this book is completely about me. It is extremely rare for me to enjoy a novella. I just never feel like novellas are long enough to fully develop characters. This book was no different. They meet, two seconds later they fall in love without even knowing each other.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is a snowed in holiday novella that's good for passing some time but it wasn't all that memorable. The characters were likable enough but the spark between them was lacking. The story was low heat, they both had a load of baggage, and it didn't hit all the festive happy buttons I'd have wanted... But it had a happy ending that made me smile! All in all, I don't think I'd read any more in this series but it was enjoyable enough to amuse.
After reading A Yorkshire Christmas this book followed a very similar story line. Beautiful woman having bad relationship seeks quiet alone time but bumps in to handsome loner who lives alone but has a troubled past. He lives in an untidy house, she is neat and tidy, love blossoms, a year later she moves from the big city to some small village and they are married. Happy ever after.

This was an extra with a Yorkshire Christmas and essentially was the same book with s different setting. Rich city girl, car stuck in snow drift, farmer and love. Pretty poor really.
2.5 ⭐️. I thought this was ok. It was very predictable which I don’t often mind but I did on this occasion for some reason. Some bits were frustrating as I just didn’t know what the characters were thinking!
The magic resides in SIMPLICITY. Falling for Christmas has two main characters, Hannah and Sam. There are of course some others present in the story but they barely appear and we can say that all the actions are done by those two. However, the book is far from boring. It starts with Hannah running away from New York and actually we feel that we are running away with her. So not only, you picked this book for a moment of escape from reality, the heroine is doing so too. As I usually say when it was a good read, the book was smooth and easy going. I finished it in no time and I wanted more. I liked how the characters are built. Sam is who he is, a man of a few words whose life did not spare; Hannah is a woman who despite her failure was aiming at a new beginning. Not at any moment in the book you feel the characters are dwelling on themselves. They are on the contrary, dealing with the facts of their lives and dealing with each other at the same time. It is a book about the discovery of the other by a few steps, but a few steps that count. This book will add some sprinkles to your life and heart. *Copy provided by NetGalley
This was a short novella, and maybe that’s why things happened quickly. The upshot: girl is unhappy seeing old boyfriend with new girlfriend and takes off in her car in a blizzard. Girl gets stuck with no place to go and is rescued by new guy who takes her home. New guy has issues, girl has problems, they fall in love. Wait! I blinked - is that when it happened? Yes, you could figure out what was going to happen from the beginning. Not much plot, little character development, just some steamy romance.
This is another sweet, Christmas novella with romance and the idea of figuring out what you really want out of life. City girl, Hannah Ford hopped in her little car and headed north after being upset when her ex showed up with his new girlfriend at a holiday party. She didn't want to be there, but wasn't sure where she wanted to go. When she ends up near the Canadian Border, she gets caught in a snowstorm and gets stuck. Fortunately for her, Sam Taylor is on his way home from plowing a driveway and offers to take Hannah into town to the B&B. When they get there, he realized the owners are on vacation, so he offers to let her stay with him, in his guest room. She has nowhere else to go, so she reluctantly agrees. Snowed in, they get to know each other over the next few days and after participating in some winter activities, they eventually realize they both feel the same way. This was a sweet holiday story with some insta-love, a bedroom scene and some great characters. Both of them had some baggage to get over, but when they get together, it is a Merry Christmas for them. This was definitely an opposites attract story, with some Christmas magic.

Kate is running from a Christmas party and her past. Without thinking she jumps in the car and just drives until her car gets stuck in a snow bank. Sam happens to drive by and rescues her. With the town snowed in and shut down for Christmas, Kate has no choice but to hunker down at Sam’s house. It’s the beginning of breaking down barriers of the past and healing.
It was well written and a sweet little romance but not at all plausible.
I really enjoyed this one. I haven't read anything by Kate before, and I found this book to be endearing and full of holiday warmth and charm. I though Sam and Hannah were great characters - easily relatable and you could see how they grew as the book progressed. It was sweet to watch them fall in love not only with each other but the holidays again too.
This book was a cozy read, easy and engaging and perfect for a cold night with some hot cocoa.
Romances involving the main character ending up snowed into a small town around Christmas time are always going to be fun! I really enjoyed this and the authors writing, they tried to add some drama to the characters lives, and I honestly think this could have been a whole 400 page book not a novella, I’d have loved that.
Girl gets stranded in snow, and young local hermit rescues her. They are snowed in together for 3 days and hook up, because they are both broken people. I am glad that she originally had hesitations that he might kill her, but that goes out the door so fast. I guess when in Rome when your single and snowed in. Then they end up with each other and his mom comes out of nowhere. 🌶️

I listened to the audiobook version of this title, well read by Summer Roberts. Included in the Audible Plus Catalogue.
This is a nice uncomplicated Christmas short story. Ideal for the run up to Christmas when you want to relax from the perpetual action/adventure/soap/game show time wasters… find a quiet corner and enjoy.
I liked the Yorkshire Christmas better because there was less of a "sex" scene in that one, and I also wished that we could see Sam and Hannah's relationship come closer than just 3 days. Though the idea is super cute to find the man of your dreams during Christmas!

This story is wonderful, happy and so delightful! Not a long story but so very sweet and perfectly imperfect right to the end! I recommend it and I promise you will too!
