Let the countdown begin... Everly Gray and Tynan Pierce, her sexy, secretive husband, take on projects no one else wants to deal with. Known as the TaP Team (Touch and Persuade), they combine the best in extrasensory perception and tactical ability. And then they accept the Lecoq contract. It should have been a slam-dunk. A straightforward assignment to expose the truth behind a manufacturing company's government contract, and it offered a perfect opportunity for Everly to practice her undercover skills. Embarking on a joint career is a dream come true for Pierce and Everly-until the nightmare edges in, they discover the contract is a fake, and death hovers, waiting in every corner.
This is a smart, sassy, fun listen! The only thing is...I didn't love it. There was too much bodice ripping and not enough background. I am a fan of scifi, paranormal, and James Bondian espionage so I should have really enjoyed it. I felt like I had missed the first scene as well. How had Everly met Tynan and how had they ended up mates (one of the words used waaaayyy too many times to describe their relationship)? There is an excessive amount of touching, thinking about each other, or sex during a mission that should have absorbed all of the team's attention.
Everly and Tynan are freelance spies and fix-it experts and generally take on jobs that the government or military doesn't want and/or can't do for themselves. Everly is newish and this was supposed to be another training op. But the two get in way deep and their extrasensory abilities (Tynan has some kind of ESP and Everly can see history by touching things with her fingertips) can't fix everything for them. The operation goes from finding out who and why someone is corrupting an element used in cell phones to something much bigger in the blink of an eye.
Valerie Gilbert does a good narration although I did listen on 1.25 speed to get rid of some of the more nasal qualities when she is trying to instill a more sarcastic or ironic tone to the narration or dialogue. The rest of the time she has a pleasant tone and did a serviceable job on the male voices and the irish lilt for Tynan.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Boom! in exchange for an honest review.
Somewhat unusual read. Everly Gray and Tynan Pierce are both husband and wife and a spy team with unusual abilities. Both have a superpower of sorts. Pierce an unusual eyesight ability and Everly an unusual ability to see images stored in fixed objects with her fingertips. The training op for Everly turns into the real thing. A fun fast read.
Was I ever happy to discover a spin off series featuring my two favorite characters; Everly & Pierce!
The chemistry between the two of them just flies off the page, if that's even possible, and even from the beginning of the Everly Gray Adventures I knew that I wanted Everly & Pierce to end up together.
Having joined forces to create the TaP Team (Touch & Persuade), we now get to witness the adventures that Everly & Pierce get up to. This book is filled with everything, tons of action, tons of romance, tons of suspenseful moments and just great characters all around.
I have to admit that it did feel like it was more of a novella, but maybe that's because it only took me a few days to finish it. I just love the authors style of writing and will read anything she publishes :)
I loved this fast-paced adventure/thriller starring two of my very favorite people, Pierce and what's-er-name. No, really I love Everly, but you have to admit, Pierce has something special. I am so thrilled see them really working as a team and showing their unlimited love. NO I did not say sex, that is mostly private, but we do get to see steam as well as devotion.
The TaPs Team mostly undertook this case as a high risk training session for Everly. She has been on three other lower risk assignments with Pierce but when this one turns out to be a much bigger deal than they expected, they can only hope that her training and the support of their team will get them through. Pierce is a great trainer but even he is have trouble letting Everly tackle some of the work that faces them when he realizes how much danger they are in. Element 63: The TaP Team is totally awesome. I am already anxiously awaiting their next adventure.
Wow! I love Everly and I love the direction this story is going. Love how this is suppose to be a training exercise and it turns into a real mission. Cannot believe the ending. Was not expecting who the bad guys were. I enjoyed the banter going on between the characters but how could Everly not realize that Annie was in labor? Is a must read in the ongoing journey of Everly Gray!
I'm really not sure about this one. Some aspects had inordinate stress put on them that seemed a little out of place with the basics as laid out in the publisher's blurb, especially if this is part of a series. It is rapidly paced and has some interesting new concepts, but it just didn't do it for me. The only thing that kept me from giving up at several points was Valerie Gilbert's excellent voice performance.
I loved the Everly Grey series. This has a different feel from the Everly Grey series but has good potential. Pierce had good character development but Everly's character didn't grow as much which was disappointing. It was still action packed and fun to read. I'm looking forward to the next installment - hopefully it gets better
The TaP team has a different pace... different feel to it then the Everly Gray Adventures. With that said, it has the potential to be fun action series to read. Everly and Pierce don't always work well together, but in the end they always get their man or woman.
This story moves at the speed of light! I could not put it down! I didn't understand some of the scientific info but that didn't stop me from enjoying this thriller. Can't wait for the second book in the series. Love Everly & Tynan!
Worth the wait. Everly and Pierce still working out the kinks but that's what makes this book work. Eagerly awaiting the next TaP book. Tho I am confused why a new series? Why not continue with original?
