Cowboys for Christmas is book one in the Cowboys Online series by Jan Springer. I’ve been wanting to start this series forever and I am so glad I finally did. I loved this book. JJ was so easy to love. She was sweet and innocent but also tough and determined. And the three cowboys, well, they were sexy as sin.

JJ had signed up for the pilot Freedom Run project with no real hope of getting accepted. JJ suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. Her dream is to be somewhere where she can feel free in wide open spaces. This job is like a dream. She was determined to make this work. Tre cazzi e una patonza nel ranch delle meraviglie
Sono approdato a qualche certezza - al termine di questo catastrofico delirio - che desidero condividere con la meravigliosa community di goodreads:
1) i piloti degli aerei privati tengono dell'alcool a bordo perché sì;
2) per abbattere la paura dell'aereo bisogna assumere quell'alcool assieme a farmaci ansiolitici (non è importante stare male sull'aereo in volo, normale prassi);
3) il sistema giudiziario canadese è colpevole di incarcerare persone che si macchiano del reato di omicidio (la giustizia privata è la condotta idonea da perseguire, Di Lello da Vasto docet);
4) gli uomini tengono sempre il cazzo eretto, che sia colazione, pranzo o cena;
5) l'ambiente è di legno rustico, intimo, accogliente, caldo, rustico, intimo, camino acceso, lucine verdi, rustico, caldo, intimo, ancora camino (stavolta spento) e un pochettino rustico;
6) esistono dei dildo a forma di albero di natale, per di più facilmente reperibili su internet;
7) il ménage à trois si costruisce facendo esordire in ordine i cazzi, ovviamente tutti belli grossi (e sexy, aggettivo più ricorrente dei congiuntivi cannati);
8) si può fare sesso nella doccia attraverso delle posizioni misteriose che contemplano il contorsionismo, la levitazione (tipo tappeto volante) e l'immobilizzazione delle braccia con qualcosa;
9) l'orgasmo femminile è così devastante che il corpo, in piedi, si accascia - caddi come corpo morto cade - e soltanto il manganello incastrato permette al corpo/cadavere di rimanere in piedi (appeso come un giubbotto all'attaccapanni);

Comunque l'ambiente è abbastanza rustico.

Wow, this books has got the heat! I love how JJ is accepted and loved by her cowboys, and she loves and accepts them and their way of life. Cowboys for Christmas was a great read!

Signore e signori, quando si ha la fortuna di imbattersi in cotanta maestria, non rimane che inchinarsi umilmente (non solo all'autrice, ma anche a Google translate).
APPLAUSI.
Ps: nuove frontiere del romanticismo 4.0. vengono esplorate: della serie "ehi tesoro, guarda, ho sparso petali di rose e acceso candele per te... e adesso girati che ti apro il culo". Rimane il fatto che l'autrice si è per forza ispirata a Drangonball z, dove Goku affronta i nemici in ordine crescente di forza. Lascio indovinare il paragone.

Credo ci sia un'unica parola che possa riassumere e definire questo libro: rustico.
il libro è rustico, la storia è rustica, l'ambiente è rustico, i cowboy mi dicono essere supersexy, rustici e con il cazzo (unica parola utilizzata per descrivere l'organo maschile) sempre in tiro e, ovviamente, gigante.
La trama ha la stessa consistenza di quella dei film porno che si guardavano di notte di nascosto durante le gite scolastiche.
Un solo quesito continua a girarmi in testa: ma non è scomodo da estrarre un dildo anale a forma di albero di Natale?
Una menzione d'onore se la merita anche il programma di impiego dei detenuti in lavori socialmente utili denominato "Freedom Run". Stavo per dire "mi inchino all'autrice per cotanta fantasia", ma visti i gadget che è riuscita ad inserire nella storia meglio evitare di mettersi in certe posizioni...

Motivazioni per il mio approccio a questo libro:
1) dovevo leggere qualcosa con il "Natale" per una ReadingChallenge (...)
2) era gratis in Kindle Unlimited
e 3) avevo necessità di scrollarmi di dosso la tristezza lasciata da un precedente romanzo.
Allora: sinceramente pensavo molto peggio.
Tra tanti erotici seriali in cui manca totalmente la sostanza, qui l'autrice si è impegnata a creare una storia (non del tutto plausibile, ma c'è) e a differenziare i tre sexy cowboy anche sopra la cintola (mi vengono in mente altre produzioni orgia-fun dove ci si limitava ad abbozzare un X tozzo, un Y prorompente, ecc. mentre qui Rafe, Brady e Dan vengono introdotti con un quid diverso l'uno dall'altro), nonché a concedere a JJ almeno il beneficio del dubbio.
Dai, c'è una parte iniziale in cui JJ si ambienta: forse inizia da subito con i sogni grondanti, però perlomeno ha qualche scrupolo, del tipo "ma questi possenti meravigliosi uomini che stanno in perenne isolamento tra le nevi vorranno proprio me, solo perchè sono l'UNICA donna under 30 in astinenza da 10 anni disponibile nel raggio di 100 miglia (con anche in mezzo un lago ghiacciato) e sono consapevoli che se mi rimandano indietro tornerò in prigione (e soffro pure di claustrofobia)"?
E poi JJ si intenerisce per i loro regali.
A chi non si scioglierebbe il cuore a trovare fuori dalla porta un magnifico set di dildo anali in ordine crescente??
Voglio dire: ma quanto sono cariniiiiii??? Impossibile non comprendere l'amore a prima vista.
Tengo a precisare che comunque i tre sono ragazzi in gamba, lavorano, hanno una baita di legno pulita e decorata come la casetta degli orsetti, sono premurosi, giocherelloni e assolutamente generosi tra loro. E da ultimo va detto che JJ in realtà ha sempre avuto fantasie su un trio di omoni nudi con addosso solo il cappello da cowboy. Se il destino te li serve così, non si può certo rifiutare.
Paradossalmente, la parte meno riuscita è quella a cui ero - visto il genere - più interessata, ovvero il famigerato ménage à quatre.
Struca, struca (detto alla "veneta") tante anticipazioni nei sogni di lei, poi tre scene one to one e un'unico ménage finale nella realtà, e pure molto standard e senza grandi guizzi.
3 stelline per lo svago: però ho visto che c'è l'intera serie sul quartetto, quindi ci potrei anche fare un pensierino.

Getting A New Lease on Life
I read this years ago. It was one of my first reverse harem books. As you may have guessed, I really liked what I saw.
JJ's story with Rafe, Dan, and Brady is fairly simple at its core, but I love the way it played out. The heated yet unfriendly initial reactions, the "breaking in," corrections to the past, and the devotion shown by all really make this a worthwhile read. There are also the panic attacks and how they are handled that I also liked.
The guys are definitely entertaining, especially when they are all worked up and no outlet to relieve the tension.
This ends with a great HFN. It is very satisfying. 🍆🔥🍆🔥🍆🍑
I went back and forth between listening and reading. The narrator is Teri Clark Linden. I like her, but I do wish there was at least one male counterpart to voice the three new men in JJ's life.

This book definitely put me in the mood for some holiday romance!!
Every single book in this series sounded interesting to me!
Book one was hot and heavy with good plot telling, that I personally thought could have been well expanded upon. Good books are always too short:)
I usually don't care for menagé plots but I want to see how these relationships unfold throughout the series. The decor and food were so well written, I was craving the snowy/cabin atmosphere, being in Arizona that's not happening.
I'd like to purchase the e-book series because I'm that interested in the Moose Ranch characters. Also, that way, no one will know when I'm reading what I call my sexy books! What's not to love about the cover, btw!?

3.0 RATING- This book delivered exactly what I was expecting, a guilty pleasure, average, smutty menage read. No boy on boy action, it'a all about the girl. I was able to borrow it so I wasn't disappointed but I wouldn't have paid for it. I did think the story was missing an epilogue. Overall, just an okay read.

This was an iBooks freebie and now I know why. I got through the first chapter and I am so proud of myself for that accomplishment. But I just couldn’t torture myself any more.
The book is so badly written. I didn’t give a damn about the characters. I wished them all to hell by the end of chapter 1. It would be better than being stuck in that damn book.
Save yourself some time and energy. Don’t bother with this one.

January 18, 2018So, I'm not rating this because I don't read this genre and as an asexual nearly aromantic person I feel like that wouldn't be entirely fair. But. I read it and I have some thoughts, which are focused on world-building and character development so...
I read this because my friend and I are always joking about writing parody romance/erotica one day, so I figured I should read some books of that ilk in order to better understand the genre. This was free on Amazon so...
*Also, this review contains SPOILERS, so be aware of that*
The story is about a girl who has been in prison. Wrongfully. For ten years. She was horribly abused by her father before that. Which, I feel like the only reason why she was in prison was just to make her scarred and wounded and in need of fixing by the males in her life, but that could be wrongfully assumed on my part. Moving on. So this woman, who is now 28, is finally out of prison and her most common phrase is: "Oh gosh." Ummmm... I realize we're in Canada, but I honestly was expecting her to be a little more rough around the edges. But. Um. Okay, I guess.
So she gets paroled out of prison because of this program where women get placed into jobs. Okay. Awesome. So this young woman, who has been abused by her father and has horrible fears and distrust of people in authority is told: you are going to go away to the wilds of Canada, by yourself, without us being able to easily find you or keeps tabs on you, where you could easily run away and disappear forever, to work for three male authority figures. This will be fine. Whaaaat? UM. This sounds like the start of a horror story where she gets horribly murdered and not like a love story between four people. But okay. Let's accept that is the conceit of the story and move on.
Dan (one of the three sexy cowboys, because of course they are all incredibly sexy, but that is acceptable to the genre, so I'm honestly not upset about that) sees JJ (our "heroine") for the first time and his thought process runs along the lines of: "She's mad sexy, I want to seduce her, I want all three of us sexy cowboys to seduce her, but oh no! she went to prison when she was 18, which means she is inexperienced in bed and might even be a virgin. It's so mysterious. And then they do. And then it's over, like, five seconds later. I guess that's because it's a novella and part of a series? I don't know? I'm kind of tempted to see if I can find the sequels for free somewhere, but I'm not sure. If I do, I'm going to highlight, for sure, every time JJ says "Oh gosh," because really. Really. What.

I can't speak for the sex parts, because I don't really pay attention to those parts, but I found the conceit of the premise hard to believe (or dare I say, hard to swallow, hehe... ahem). JJ's character was way too together for all of the shit she went through. She should have been panic attacking everywhere because that is something that messes up your adrenal glands and you don't get magically better because you are in the wild with three men you find sexually attractive. That's just not how the nervous system works. It's not. Her dialogue sometimes came across as a little valley girl teenager sometimes, which was awkward, but I guess acceptable because she is young and sometimes I can be a little "Like, totally," although usually I'm being facetious... I don't know. I haven't been to prison, though so... I just found her character difficult to believe. But maybe that's because when I break my characters I smash them and I make them struggle hard to put themselves back together, because, most of the time, that's how life is.
I will say it was nice to have respectful dudes who were all about consent and it's sad that I find it unbelievable that that could happen, but I hope it could. I'll let that one slide.

I read this because my friend and I are always joking about writing parody romance/erotica one day, so I figured I should read some books of that ilk in order to better understand the genre. This was free on Amazon so...

The story is about a girl who has been in prison. Wrongfully. For ten years. She was horribly abused by her father before that. Which, I feel like the only reason why she was in prison was just to make her scarred and wounded and in need of fixing by the males in her life, but that could be wrongfully assumed on my part. Moving on. So this woman, who is now 28, is finally out of prison and her most common phrase is: "Oh gosh." Ummmm... I realize we're in Canada, but I honestly was expecting her to be a little more rough around the edges. But. Um. Okay, I guess.
So she gets paroled out of prison because of this program where women get placed into jobs. Okay. Awesome. So this young woman, who has been abused by her father and has horrible fears and distrust of people in authority is told: you are going to go away to the wilds of Canada, by yourself, without us being able to easily find you or keeps tabs on you, where you could easily run away and disappear forever, to work for three male authority figures. This will be fine. Whaaaat? UM. This sounds like the start of a horror story where she gets horribly murdered and not like a love story between four people. But okay. Let's accept that is the conceit of the story and move on.
Dan (one of the three sexy cowboys, because of course they are all incredibly sexy, but that is acceptable to the genre, so I'm honestly not upset about that) sees JJ (our "heroine") for the first time and his thought process runs along the lines of: "She's mad sexy, I want to seduce her, I want all three of us sexy cowboys to seduce her, but oh no! she went to prison when she was 18, which means she is inexperienced in bed and might even be a virgin. Trovato gratuitamente su Amazon, l'ho scaricato e ho deciso di leggerlo perché cercavo una storia leggera. Ed è questo che è. Leggera. Se non si hanno grandi aspettative è carino. Ovviamente, non è questo libro emozionante, anzi in più di qualche scena mi sono ritrovata a domandarmi se stessi leggendo un fantasy. Pieno di assurdità, ma divertente.

I got this book as part of the "A Touch of Menage" box set by Jan Springer when it was on sale for 99c because I'm a naughty, naughty girl and I do like a good menage story.
This story was relatively well written and I thought that it was very interesting that Jan Springer made her heroine a convicted (though wrongfully) murderer. It was interesting that in the 10 years that JJ was incarcerated that she still was able to remain nice and sweet, and did not turn rough, mean and jaded.
The story opens with JJ getting paroled and getting a job housekeeping and cooking for three cowboys in the wilds of Northern Ontario. Of course, the cowboys are gorgeous and it's attraction and lust at first sight (isn't that they way with erotic romances?).
As the story progresses, we get to see Brady, Rafe and Dan as three hardworking and principled guys who have a growing attraction to JJ, which is reciprocated by JJ, but JJ being afraid to jeopardise her job and being thrown back into jail doesn't act on the attraction until a little outing she has with the guys. Of course, after that, all bets are off and the guys plot the best way to get her into their beds, individually and together.
What follows is plenty of sexy times between JJ and the guys, which is relatively well written except for the fact that Jan Springer uses the term "creamed" a lot when describing JJ's arousal. That's just gross. I can't remember the number of times that I read the phrase "she creamed" in the story but it put me off every time. Memo to Ms Springer: that's not sexy, in fact, it's rather disgusting actually. Of course, this could be just me, any others might find it a perfectly acceptable descriptor.
I would have also liked the last and only menage scene to have been a little longer and more detailed. I thought the ending was rather abrupt.
Overall, this was an enjoyable and easy read.

An Awesome Read!
I loved reading Cowboys for Christmas: A Romance Menage Western Contemporary, all about JJ a young women who has been in jail for the last ten years for killing her step-father in self defense. She came home one night and found her mother dead in the hallway & her step-father watching tv as if nothing was wrong, she started yelling and he broke her arm her wrist and beat her good, she reached out for something picked up the poker and cracked it over his head. And for that she went to jail, even though she was defending herself. Now she finds herself getting early release & put in a program called Freedom Run. She's going to Ontario Canada to live on a cattle ranch in the middle of know-where with three Cowboys, to cook & clean. They put her on a plane fill her with melds because she is claustrophobic and then put her in a bush plane and hope for the best. By the time she lands she's three sheets in the wind, cause she found wine and drank it on the short flight to the ranch. Upon arriving she meets Brady her boss, who gives her one smoking kiss and puts her to bed. The author wrote a very interesting story, and the characters made the story come to life! Read this book, because it will make you laugh, cry, sigh, shake your head and cum up a storm! Read about the incredible women named JJ and the three hunky Cowboys she now works for. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed reading it!

Logico che poi la storia finisca con l’atto sessuale. Come puoi portare avanti una storia del genere?
E, logicamente, questa ragazza capita in un ranch sperduto, dove ci sono questi tre giovani, belli, con dei fisici assurdi e tutti innamorati di lei e che non si fanno scrupoli a dividersela fra loro. Naturalmente anche per lei la cosa è normale. Io non ho parole.
Ne ho letti di erotici, ma questo li batte tutti. D’altronde come si fa a non sciogliersi davanti a un regalo di Natale come quello che le hanno fatto trovare i tre bellimbusti: tre bellissimi dildo anali di diverse misure. Da provare subito!

Spoiler AheadThis was a pretty feel good hot Christmas ménage. Jennifer Jane (JJ) Watson has spent the past ten Christmases in a maximum security prison. Each one of the guys is very attracted to JJ although they know no woman wants to live in the conditions that they live in. I really liked this book JJ went to prison for defending herself. The guys who are use to sharing women want her, but they know they have to take it slow. JJ has some very hot dreams about the boys and cowboy hats. This book had a few errors in it and I felt that it ended weird. This was my first time reading this author. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I'm torn about this. The ending is frustrating it just stops, yes it appears Cowboys in her Pocket largely picks up where Cowboys for Christmas ends but the ending isn't satisfying. There are too many cowboy puns, no truly brilliant lines (only lines memorable for their cringeworthiness) and too much predictability, eg I guessed the butt man from the outset dominance and brooding silence. There is a lot of suspension of belief required to escape into the book (I read for escapism). But it was nice to read a strong woman with real flaws, anxiety, claustrophobia. And watching the men deal with that was a joy, one scene, in particular, could have gone so wrong but didn't.
The big props I give to Cowboys for Christmas is its sexual positivity. JJ has been in prison 10 years, since not long after her 18th birthday. She is sexually inexperienced. But masturbation has been part of her life for a long time, she is comfortable with it. Most of the menage intimacy is fantasy as JJ pleasures herself. That is something that I don't often see in romance. Also, I will applaud and cheer any book that notes safe sex without any party having to bring it up (as it should be).
I got Cowboys for Christmas because I wanted reverse harem or menage books set at Christmas, this fitted the bill. It was okay. It will ultimately be forgettable and honestly, I just didn't enjoy the sex as much as I needed to for a higher rating. Even if there were some cute moments, like their proposition to her and her faith and honesty.

I've read/listened to 3 of the books in Jan Springer's Key Club series and while I enjoyed the okay, I liked the opener for the Cowboys Online series a lot more. The characters were more well-rounded and the situation they were in was a lot more compelling. The attraction between the characters felt real and intense and steamy bits felt more based in emotion, which was a plus for me. I did find that the word "cream" was used in excess, but other than that it was a fun read and I might even continue on with the series. 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Ce n'est pas super bien traduit ; le style est assez médiocre, aussi la responsabilité en incombe peut-être au texte de base lui-même. Une histoire de ménage à 4, soit 3 hommes et 1 femme. L'intérêt d'un trio de cow-boys n'est pas avéré ici, le personnage de Rafe étant totalement inutile. C'est superficiel tant certains sujets sont peu développés et ça se termine assez abruptement par la partie à plusieurs. Mieux vaut un mauvais Vanessa Vale que ça.

The premise is good, I like the characters and the deeper stories there. If this was a longer story and they had more time for character building and tension over time, combined with deeper connection with the tough background of JJ, I would have enjoyed it even more.
I’m picky when it comes to language, especially in smut, and this did not hit the mark for me, which ruined the overall vibe. There were a couple of handfuls I wasn’t kicking my feet about, but “engorged” this and that on her and on them🙂↔️🙂↔️ No thanks.
