4.0⭐️ — Great — Enjoy it! - SHORT STORY

Also published at Amazon as WEREWOLF ANOTHER DAY and part of Winter Valley Wolves - The Wakefields

This is the first book of the series to have a thriller twist on the plot and even if it’s not a big one, gives the work some extra to the romance.

📚 Good reading, girls! 📚

Esher V. Vaughn

Reviewed by SFF Dragon

Dr Gina Sands shows her true colours, but Andi and Esher get their long overdue HEA in spite of her.

'Esher' is the seventh book in V. Vaughn's Winter Valley Wolves series and I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. It's also part of the multi-author Mating Season Collection of short, stand alone, paranormal romances and I absolutely loved it. Well written in first person, present tense, narrative style, and entirely from Andi's point of view, a style I usually hate, I got so engrossed in the story that it stopped bothering me about the end of the third paragraph and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Research scientist Dr Andi Thompson is dying, and not for the first time. Her cancer has returned with a vengeance and the prognosis isn't good, giving her only a few months left to live. She was saved the first time by her boyfriend, who injected her with a vial of his own werewolf blood and instead of being grateful, the ambitious scientist in her put dreams of professional glory ahead of the safety of the Silver Lake wolves and she lost the only man she ever loved. Now, renowned Geneticist Dr Gina Sands has turned up as joint Head of Scientific Research at Winter Valley University hell bent of capturing the wolves for her experiments. Andi hasn't seen Esher in seven years, but she has to warn him.

Esher Wakefield, werewolf and successful paediatric doctor, is shocked when he sees his true mate in Pete's bar. He hasn't seen Andi in seven years, and had just about given up hope of ever seeing her again. They parted on bad terms, each saying a lot of things they didn't mean, but he knows she's been trying to protect them ever since. Realising the love of his life is sick again, he has to save her, one way or another, and the wolves already know about the truly evil Dr Sands. What they don't know is that she's found herself a private backer and stepped outside the law until....

I'm not going to give any more spoilers. I love V. Vaughn's books and this series just keeps getting better and better. This book has action and bad guys, true love and steamy bits, some humour, but on the whole, is quite sad until you get to the happily ever after, which made me smile. Although this book is written as a stand alone, and can easily be read as one, the characters and the situation they find themselves in are introduced in the previous book and whilst not essential, I strongly suggest you read 'Ekton' first, as it sets up the background to 'Esher' perfectly.

The doctor will see you now . . .

More action, suspense and anticipation than anything in this book. Not my favorite (although not for those reasons). However, still a decent story.

Andi may have been working for Dr. Sands but she has only been doing it to protect the wolves of Winter Valley. When her attempt to get the wolves failed before she thought that Dr. Sands was done till she showed up at her doorstep. However, her time is running out as her leukemia has returned forcing her to seek out Esher who saved her life once before. After everything that came between them before will Esher be willing to help her? Or will the past keep them apart?

I liked Andi when we had a chance to see her in the prior books when she was helping Mia and Ekton. She's a sweetheart just like all of the girls who find werewolves to love, and risked it all to save them. I like Esher he's a good guy just like his brothers he just happened to fall in love with a scientist who has to thwart her evil boss.

I’ve been working my way through the Winter Valley Wolves series. Each novel is the series is a fast-paced whirlwind romance that captures the heart as well as the imagination. The author has created this perfect little lake community to allow her werewolves to live. She’s also put her own unique spin on the werewolves, like how they shift and how they form true mate relationships which I find fascinating. I’ve enjoyed every installment in the series but the Wakefield boys might just be my favorite so far. I can’t wait to dive right into the next one and I know when I finish they will be a series I come back to read over and over.

I received this book for an honest review and have to say that this is such a great series. V. Vaughn has such a great talent when it comes to writing. I truly enjoy her work. To me these work fine as a standalone and I can honestly say that since I know there is about 2 I have not read yet and do not feel lost. But I will say this that reading the previous book will help you be familiar with some of the characters that are in the story.
Andi Thompson truly broke my heart. Her story was very hard to read since I lost a mother this year to Leukemia, but I think also I understood the pain that Esher felt when he found out her Leukemia had returned. The realization that Andi must of felt to know that her days were numbered.
Andi carries a guilt around with her. She needs to learn to forgive herself. See a free years ago her stupid action had put the Silver Lake Wolves in danger. Though she had been forgiven a long time ago by Esher, Andi had not forgiven herself. So when she found out her Leukemia had returned it did not seem fair to ask Esher for his help.
Esher is this handsome werewolf. Him and Andi had been dating when she first had leukemia. The pain Esher had to feel when he realized that the Leukemia had returned to his true mate had to be heart wrenching. Here she was back in his life and he could lose her. Now he is faced with a chose to try to save her or let her die.
That mean old Dr Sand is back. I swear that woman is like a disease that you cannot get rid of. She carries for no one but herself. Trust me when I say she is up to no good.
Andi and someone dear to her finds themselves in danger. Can Esher save them in time?

CAPTIVATING & STEAMY ROMANCE!

ESHER-Winter Valley Wolves-Book #7-A heart-melting romantic story of true love.

This story features; Esher, a sultry, buffed, charismatic, pediatricican and werewolf; Andi, a sexy, beautiful human and head of the scientific research at the university.

What you'll find in this story; a cast of remarkable impressive and engaging characters, fabulous story-line, dynamic vivid scene descriptions, camaraderie, heart-rending moments, an abduction, pent-up rage and desires, spine-tingling heart-pounding sensual romance, and a fabulous conclusion that leaves you wanting more.

Andi has come out of remission from her leukemia and goes to see Esher for help. Dr. Sand is now working at the university, and is eager to have Andi work with her to capture a werewolf to test their blood and use Andi as a test subject.

SPECTACULAR fast paced well written heart-warming read by a truly gifted author. The characters are more than convincing and certainly praise worthy. The story-line keeps the attention of the reader with powerful scene descriptions. I absolutely relished this story, a most gratifying read from start to finish. If you enjoy shifter romance this is an excellent choice for your library. {I received a copy of this book for a completely honest review}. In the world of paranormal romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book..

I was given an ARC of Esher from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

I'm really hoping this series isn't finished, I'm HOOKED & don't want it to end. As soon as I started reading this, I was lost within the world of the Winter Valey wolves, I couldn't get enough... I quickly found myself finished. PLEASE read this series in order, you NEED to otherwise most of what happens in this wont make absolute sense.

Andi knows all the signs, but has to make sure, a quick look at her blood & she knows for sure, her cancer is back, but not only does she have this to worry about but Dr. Sands is know in Winter Valley. Esher hasn't seen Andi in years, but once he does, he knows he has to do anything he can to keep her alive & safe.

I was really hoping that V would tell us Andi's story, what a story we have. It explains most of what Andi implies in 'Ekton'(book 6). Also I love the interractions between Esher & Andi, especially when they'd forgiven one-another years prior, but only now do they allow the other to know.

Esher is book 7 in V. Vaughn's "Winter Valley Wolves" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that wasn't the last novella from V. Vaughn's "Winter Valley Wolves" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far & I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.

WOW I so love the way Ms. Vaughn ties everything up and you'll love the hunky studs in the Series in Winter Valley Wolves at Silver Lake.
Dr. Andi Thompson knew she was in trouble
all the signs were their her leukemia was back stage 4. She can't do it again she has decided to forgo chemotherapy no more.. She just had a little time she wants to live a little something she hasn't done since she blew it with Esher.
Dr. Esher Wakefield is a pediatric doctor and a Werewolf. As he heads to the bar he sees Andi right away why was she here she never comes to the bar? Than he saw the bruising and knew Andi was sick again, he knew he needed to help her there was no options, Andi was his True Fated Mate and he loved her. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

Andi Thompson cancer is back, bad, 7 years ago she was healed by werewolf blood given to her by her lab partner, ex-boyfriend Esher Wakefield. He is now a successful pediatrician only missing his true mate but years ago curing her almost cost his pack, though he knows all she has done it the years since to protect his pack and in one case his little brother and his mate, and he still wants her. Andi used to work with Miri and knows that Dr. Gina Sands has plans that can hurt the pack so she calls Miri to tell her to tell the Alpha. Then she finds out there is a change of plans and she tries to warn Esher but he realizes she is sick again and he wants her to quit her job, save her again even has a back up plann that he really likes. But all he** breaks out when she doesn't call and Miri is taken too ,both there lives could be in danger Can they find them in time?Did either manage to get word to help them? This series just got so much better. Finally Andi and Esher get there story. Andi made a big mistake years ago and since then has tried to make things right again, see she had cancer and Esher gave her his blood curing her, Howevery instead if keeping it too herself she ean her mouth in the science world and because of her the wolves and most importantly Esher is in trouble and too fix things she has worked the the local college and everyone a new student comes in too study werewolves she messes up their work. That way no one can find the were's. However her cancer is back and she's dying, the only problem is there is another doctor at her job out to get the wolves. Can she save herself, the wolves and fix her relationship with Esher. Read to find out, but let me tell you it's AWESOME EPIC AMAZING book. You won't be able to put it down. This is one of the best shifter series I've read in a while. V.Vaughn is an outstanding author, with her books you get pulled into each book as if you were there. It's sooooooooooooo awesome. I love love love this book and series. Congratulations V.Vaughn to another epic book. You Rock....

While the concept of the fated (but separated) couple using the werewolf's blood to treat her cancer was intriguing, the execution of the story was pretty bad. Dr Sands, formerly seen in the Ekton story, is a cartoon villain--the heroine even describes her as like Cruella de Ville. The outrageous conspiracy plot just couldn't be used effectively in such a short story and, like before, everything just magically works out. There were also a few odd inconsistencies in the book, things that didn't match what we've seen in other parts of the series. Most notable is that Esher points out to Andi that Mia no longer has to wear glasses after becoming a werewolf--even though Ergan is described as wearing them when he are first introduced to him. While I enjoyed the Lindstroms boxed set, the Wakefields have been a dud for me and I don't see myself taking in anymore of the the Winter Valley Wolves series.

Andi still loves her college boyfriend Esher but believes he hates her due to almost outing the werewolf pack he belongs too. Instead of contacting him and finding out how he feels she pays penance by sabotaging any evidence that comes through the University lab. Unfortunately when her cancer comes back worse then before she tries to find Esher to see if he would help her again. What she finds out when she seeks Esher out is beyond her greatest hopes and wildest dreams but she isn’t the only one looking for werewolf blood and her salvation may be Esher’s packs downfall yet. Mating Season is such a great collection and Winter Valley Wolves are my favorites, the characters are strong but sweet and full of life and the storylines are engaging and emotional. Can’t recommend highly enough!

We met Andi in the last book in the series and now learn why she is so protective of the wolves. She was involved with one of the wolves when she was in college and his blood saved her life. Unfortunately, she also opened the wolves up to discovery with some of her later actions. Now her disease is back and a scientist bent on finding the wolves is there too. She doesn't expect Esher to help her but wants to warn the wolves. He is not willing to let her give up.

I have enjoyed this series of short stories about the wolves and their fated mates. They are never truly happy until they can be with their mate. The men are hard to resist so they usually don't have to work too hard to get their mate.

Andi is a scientist at Winter Valley University who has made it her life mission to protect the werewolves in the area since it's her fault that they were almost exposed. Esher is a doctor and a werewolf in Winter Valley and longs for his mate, Andi, who he once saved while they were in college. Andi learns some devasting news and knows that the only person that can save her is Esher. When a scientist who is trying to prove that weres exist comes to the University both Andi and Esher know that she must be stopped. Will these two be able to let go of the past and stat over or will the past keep hem apart? This is the latest book in the Winter Valley Wolves Arc and is a standalone in a continuing storyline with a HEA.

Andi and Esher have a history, when they were in college they were lovers and more. Something came between them. Now things are worse and there is danger. Can she go to him? Will he only think she is there for him to save her again, or will she believe she still cares and wants to do what is right?

When danger interferes can they overcome the dark forces that want to reveal the wolves and use them? Esher has a revelation for Andi. Reunions, family, loyalty and steam in this series end.

A satisfying end with a quick visit from some old friends. A recommend.

This is an emotionally charged story that will have you riding a roller coaster of emotions. You'll be happy one second when two former loves come together and work out their issues, angry when someone trys to exploit the wolves of Winter Valley, and on the edge of your seat when things go wrong. This is a great short story and if you enjoy shifter romance then I recommend this. Even though this is a part of a series, this can easily be read as a stand alone. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series that I missed and hope there are more to come.

Received the book for an honest review. Book 7 of the Winter Valley Wolves is Esher and Andi's story. Many years ago Esher and Andi were college sweet hearts. When Andi discovered she had cancer, Esher gave her some of his werewolf blood and she was cured. Because of that the secret of the Winter Valley Wolves were threatened. Since then Andi had made it her life mission to protect their secret at all costs, even her heart. Years later the cancer is back and Andi goes to Esher for help. Esher is more than happy to help as Andi is his true mate and maybe this time they can make ago of it again. Great storyline just as amazing characters.

Review for ESHER
I received this as a gift for an honest review
Andi Thompson learned years ago that werewolves were real. She fell in love with one-his name was Esher-and almost destroyed him and his pack in the process. She had leukemia then and she has it now again, but she won’t ask for his help. She only wants to warn him of the danger that is once stalking them. Esher isn’t going to let Andi die because she is his true mate and he wants her more than life itself. But when he once again gives her blood and it does not help her, he knows there is only one chance left. But first, he must remove the threat to them all.

Andi has stage 4 cancer and few months to live her only hope is her ex boyfriend esher but can she tell him. Ask for his help again? He already saved her once before and she put his pack in danger, she has spent the rest of her time trying to cover up that werewolves are real. But with doctor sand at her job she found out that Andi is sick and she wants Andi as a test subject,
When esher finds out his mate is sick again he us not going to lose her again.
Great story, lots of action, drama and spice (awesome combo) I love the characters (there so fun) and I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.
I am hooked!

Emotionally charged shifter romance, it will make you tear up and fall in love at the same time. Years ago, Esher saved his true mate Andi from cancer, but almost at the cost of all the werewolves in his pack, because of it she had to leave him and the pack. When her cancer comes back, will saving her again get them in more trouble? Can they safely reignite their love of will they be the ruin of all werewolves? With discovery so close they have to be extra careful to keep the secret of werewolves out of the public eye. I was given a copy of his book in exchange for an honest review.

Love it!. I have been waiting to find out Andi's story and was not disappointed. Violet Vaughn does it again. Andi is a scientist trying to sabotage the study going on and help keep the wolves a secret. Her cancer is back and her life starts to take a new turn. Esher is a wolf shifter and pediatrician. Can he help save Andi? This story is sweetly romantic and hot, hot, hot. Can't wait to see what volley Vaughn does next.

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.

I swear this series gets better and better with each new book.
Andi is a Doctor with a past that she is trying to make up for. Keeping the Winter Valley secret, is very hard. With a co-Doctor that will do anything to get what she wants, she will also do all that she can to sabotage her.
But will she be able to save their secret from getting out.
Esher is a werewolf, who is still mad but mad at himself. When the girl from his college years comes back into his life asking for help. Will he help out or will he tell her no?

This was an excellent book. It was a sweet romance with an aspect of danger. Something I've noticed in this series so far is how, while the book titles have been in trios by family, the books have also been in duos when it comes to the females. Katie and Devon were best friends. Raven and Kayla were friends. Mia and Andi were co-workers (and consequently friends). It's been fun having the male and female relations broken up so differently. As with the rest of the books this was HEA with no cliffhanger.

This book picks up one of the characters from the last book. She has a new person in her lab and she doesn't like it. She is dealing with a health issue when she learns that they are going to go after the Silver Lake wolves again. Will she be able to stop it in time? Will she be able to quit or will something happen to her? Will she finally realize that Esher is her true mate? What will happen next?
