**You are about to dive into a non-conventional love story. One that doesn’t hold a fairy tale ending, so if you are on the softer side move on to your next read and save yourself a box of tissues.** This warning is definitely something to take into consideration before reading. If you want a happy ever after, you will be disappointed. However, if you want something which keeps you reading if only because you want to find out how it plays out then you will not be disappointed. It is certainly different.
‘It’s not about how strong you are to do the impossible, it’s about how much you want to do it. You can make the impossible, possible’.
Mia Stone, having had a hard life has made her keep people at arm’s length, men especially. They are there for her pleasure as and when she wants it. That is until Dylan comes into her life, making her question some choices in her life. Between Dylan and Jason, her roommate and BFF’s brother, Mia starts to realise that there may well be more to life than screwing anything she comes across.
Dylan, fighter turned CEO following the death of his father, has had a privileged life where he has been free, for the most part to make his own choices. He knows he was adopted, but when he is told that he has a sibling out there he needs to figure out whether he wants to track them down.
Two broken people, neither knows what they need to be able to heal.
Jason, the brother of Mia’s best friend has been in love with her from a far for a while. Friends with benefits just is not working for him any longer. He wants more.
Can Mia give more to either Jason or Dylan? There are many stumbling blocks along the way for all three of them. The road is definitely not straight forward.
It did take me a little while to actually really get into the book, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. There are so many twists and turns throughout that at times I struggles to keep up. It asks you at the beginning ‘not to hate him’. As the book progressed I wasn’t totally sure who ‘he’ was as I never really hated either of the guys, Mia however, I had many a dislike about. She treated Jason really badly, which in turn hurt her BFF.
I also struggled little with how Mia suddenly went from not wanting any attachments to any men, not wanting a relationship. Not even wanting to kiss a guy on the lips, as she considered this too much, to having two guys who she couldn’t get enough of. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great storyline, but it seemed to happen really quickly.
A huge plus is the steamy sex scenes. They are all different which I really did find refreshing. They were a little long sometimes, but they were definitely HOT.
Overall, I did enjoy the book and I look forward to seeing what comes next from this author.
