**Full length and standalone new adult romance novel.**

One week spent together in a secluded cabin. Two people scarred by their pasts. Can a chance encounter lead to love? Or is it just a moment in time, insignificant once it passes.

Taylor has just returned from a romantic vacation with her boyfriend. But instead of an “I miss you!” text from him, she gets one that’s clearly meant for another woman. Which is the only reason she lets a hot stranger kiss her on the sidewalk. It’s the one and only time they’ll ever see each other, so why not?
Adam is used to living life on his own terms, from leaving home at 16 to join the military, to returning now, eight years later, to take care of his mother. After that, he’s packing up and leaving again. The last thing he planned on was falling in love with a girl at first sight. But there she was, and now Taylor’s all he can think of.

They may be perfect for each other, but they both have pasts that will not stay buried, no matter how much they want them to. And when Adam’s dark past comes crashing between them, one week seems like a very short time. Even if it is a week of love, pleasure, and belonging like neither of them has known before.

This one has potential all but there's too much Insta-love for me and it's just too weird the way they're thinking about each other already.

With “Adam” (of the Archers, Book 1) the author Lena Bourne managed to create a typical totally domineering male that was at the same time so vulnerable to the readers that it almost hurt to see what he was put through.

I am not sure if I was/am a fan of Taylor but she was perfect for Adam in a way that she was as damaged as he was just with other issues.

Yeah – I liked Adam – but honestly ? I am not sure if I would read another book of this series IF the book is about other Archers, because the author did a great job in me totally disliking every one of his relatives. #laughing …

But hand me another book of that author about other characters and I would not hesitate to read it – I am pretty sure about that.

On second thought – I wonder if this author might manage to even make those nasty relatives of Adam interesting in a second book of this series – that would prove real writing power #still-laughing

#waves … this is me going off to the bookstore of my trust checking on other books by this author

Ehhh!

I usually love insta-lust/love stories. Even though this one did have it I really didn't like the book all that much. Taylor kept waffling between Henry and Adam especially close to the end when she has doubts about Adam and the first person she thinks to call to talk things through about her feelings about Adam is Henry! Also, she tells her family she is back with Henry even though she knows he was cheating. And Henry is an ass and her not able to see through that and still tries to be with him, in my eyes, makes her an ass too.

As for Adam, I didn't really care about his family. It looks like this is a series about the Archers which is Adam's family, but I can't really see myself reading any further in this series, because I don't care for any of Adam's siblings, and to be honest, not sure I'm all that thrilled about Adam himself.

All in all a very disappointing book.

I really enjoyed this book. Adam join the military at 16 to get away from his hell now his back home to take care of his mother, while home he runs into his brother and meets the sexy Taylor who he kisses on the sidewalk and now he can't get her off his mind.
Taylor is away with her girls hoping to meet up with her boyfriend when she receives a text from him not meant for her, she runs out into Adam who kisses her off her feet she loved it when she shouldn't.
now Taylor away at her cabin she's trying to figure out her life, but never intended to run back into the man who kissed her off her feet.
I loved it , it was so good.

This was an interesting story of a very conflicted young man who had been forced into the military at sixteen years old. There had been a questionable accident to cause the townspeople to dislike him. Since the family as a whole was hate his father felt it was best he left.
Now, he’s out of the service after all of his men but one died during their last mission. He also at the same time, had gotten the call that his mother was ill, so the SOS call was issued. She was worse and they need his help. So, he came home. That he finally just snapped. He ended up with a dishonorable discharge.
Yet, after writing to someone he respected and outranked him and who he had served under he found out he might be able to get squared with the military. First, he needed to lose the anger. The anger also came from seeing his mother being beaten by his father as well as he and his siblings. Not just by his father but by his older brother he was beaten, Theo. Mountain people were mean but his family was the meanest.
While he’s back home a buddy from the Marines asks to meet for drinks at a bar. Turns out his youngest brother, Jess, is playing there with his band. Of course, he has been dodging his calls. So, they fight and he gets kicked out it’s not a total loss. Out on the sidewalk, a girl he has never seen before is about to change his life forever.
Taylor is there with her sister and their best friend. After just flying back from France she really doesn’t want to be there since she still hasn’t heard from her fiancé who she left there after a month stay. Yet, she is having uneasy feelings since she’s just returned and is getting the feeling something is just not right. The whole thing seems off. He’s not called her to see if she got home safe or anything.
She has been feeling odd for a while but now looking from afar the whole time she was there they never kissed really or made love while she was there. He said it was because he was busy writing his book and all. But something feels off. When she gets a sexy cute text clearly not meant for her she feels the hair on the back of her neck stand up. At first, he won’t respond and then he plays it off like he has no idea what she is talking about. Then he starts yelling at her saying she is calling him a liar and a cheater.
That’s when she accuses him of having an affair. The bickering goes on for a while until especially when she thinks she hears a woman’s voice. It continues until it doesn’t. Then, she hangs up on him. She meets Adam and then she just Kisses him until her sister comes screeching at her. Then she leaves. Never to see Adam again. So, she thinks. Neither can think of anything other than that kiss and each other. She decides to get away and go to the family’s cabin and work on her book. When she gets there the plumbing burst and she needs to call a plumber. Adam shows up for his uncle. Just to check until his uncle can come into town.
This is a fast-moving story. Interesting dynamics yet the resolution seemed like it came to quick. So, a little-disappointed there. Still worth reading, though. I wish Taylor would have stood up to Henry even if it would have been with Adam next to her. It just seemed like he thinks he can still be condescending to anyone but women for sure. A great surprise!

I was going through my Kindle trying to decide what to read next an I came across this book by one of my favorite authors. I have no idea when I got it. But I really enjoyed this story. The way these two from dysfunctional families found each other and because whole was an amazing story. I highly recommend all of Lena's books.

This book started out really good, but ... Adam was a Marine at the age of 16, running from home after the death of his best friend Davy. 8 years later he's back home trying to help his mother get away from his abusive father. Taylor catches her much older boyfriend cheating on her and he tries to tell her she's wrong and treats her like a child.

But then the story just gets too unbelievable. She kisses him outside a bar and falls madly in love with him. She doesn't even know his name, but has no trouble finding him in a small town where her family just happens to own a cabin. He falls just as fast for her, all in about 3 days. Although I did like Adam's character ... he fought for his country, tried to help his mother, didn't take his father's abuse and tried to make a better life. But Taylor's character seemed too whiney, she let her ex-boyfriend and family walk all over her and she kept changing her mind between Adam and Henry. There were times the story would just go off in a weird direction and it started little side stories (the brother in the band and the father disappearing) that you never found the answers to. Maybe there was supposed to be another book ... but over a year later, there still isn't. I feel bad about saying all this because the story was there, just a little jumbled .

I'm clearly in the minority with this book; I did not like it and did not finish it. I gave up ready about 25% of the way through.

I don't believe in insta-love, which was the entire basis of this story. The main characters meet outside a club after Taylor learns her boyfriend (who is in another country?) is likely cheating on her. Adam feels such an incredible pull towards her that he just has to kiss her right there on the street - which he does. Okay, that part wasn't too unbelievable.

BUT, then Taylor drops everything the next day and drives up to her family's summer home intent on finding this guy after learning he was originally from that area. Who does that for a stranger? One that you don't even know his name?

So of course they find each other (very predictable), and again the attraction is immediate. They immediately open up to each other and start "falling in love" despite knowing each other a matter of days.

I just didn't feel any real connection between the two characters despite the author writing about the incredible pull between them.

(Received as an ARC in exchange for an honest review)

This romance has a lot of sizzle. Bourne effectively creates a sexual atmosphere that is sure to enthrall those with a penchant for romantic escapades. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, with moments that are both steamy and intimately drawn.

However, outside of base attraction, the novel struggles to hold its ground. I'm not sure I understood the plot until over half way through the book. The characters are very one-dimensional, defined more by their romantic entanglements than by any personal growth or compelling backstory.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Romance Beckons for the ARC for my honest review. First time reading this author. This books reads as a stand alone.
It is an interesting story-a bit slow at times and they do fall instantly in love/lust but the characters are interesting-as they each have very obvious flaws. They are NOT the perfect couple and their lives are not perfect, I think that is what kept me reading. I have been reading alot of perfect couple stories-so this stood out as different. Probably not for everyone, but I think it was well worth the read Let me know what you think.

Interesting start to this new series. Adam, who runs from his problems and Taylor, who doubts herself and likes to settle for safe have sparks flying from the moment they meet. Can they both overcome their doubts to see what is right in front of them? Loved this story and look forward to the next book in the series. This can be read as a stand-alone, but does leave some loose strings to continue in the series.

"Adam" is the first book in Lena Bourne's "Of the Archers" series and the first book I have read by this author.

I enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure at first as it felt like it was moving into "lust at first sight/ insta love" territory. I'm glad I stuck it out. What I first thought was a love at first sight situation was really an act of extreme desperation between two damaged people. I think they were both coming from situations where they felt they had to have someone to grab on to so badly that it bordered on, or flat out was, obsession. This changed the whole feel of the book for me and I really wanted to see where it was heading.

I liked the main characters, flawed as they were. Taylor was coming out of a (totally weird) relationship with a much older man who sexted her by mistake. He meant to send it to the woman he was having a fling with. Awkward. Taylor wasn't "damaged" per se, but due to her relationship with her parents, sister, and psychologically abusive boyfriend, had absolutely no self esteem. At all.

Adam was completely damaged. He grew up in pretty abusive, horrific circumstances, and then had some devastating things happen while he was a marine and was deployed. His last mission left him in bad standing with the military which added to his problems. His family was always in his face either wanting his help, or wanting to beat him down. He had a totally vulnerable side for such a tough alpha male an had self esteem issues as well.

Taylor and Adam were good together. It was nice to see the initial desperation they both felt at the beginning of the book turn into real feelings and an understanding of each other. It took a while but they got there after some serious trial and error. The attraction was there and they were totally hot and steamy with each other. One thing that really bothered me was that because Taylor stepped out of her comfort zone by having sex with someone she didn't know well, she thought inappropriate things about herself. Like, Adam was "using her body like a dirty whore". That crap needs to be struck from the book. There was nothing they were doing that should have made her think that. They didn't even have any kink going on. It was weird and made what had been a good sex scene icky to me.

Taylor and Adam spent the majority of the book thinking that the other didn't really like them, that they were using them as a distraction, that they meant nothing to the other but sex. Which was the opposite of what each was thinking. As I said earlier, zero self esteem. In a way it made the book more interesting, but maybe it was a bit much. I wanted to shake them both after a while. I do think that they had some growth there at the end. They started to communicate with each other and realize their self worth. I would have liked to have seen more growth but perhaps we'll see that as the series continues with the other characters.

The side characters were intentionally unlikeable. They played the protagonists well. The rest of the series will feature them as main characters so it will be interesting to see how the author portrays them and how they redeem themselves. The book also ended with a little bit of mystery that will continue on in the storyline of the series. I'm looking forward to see how that plays out.

There were definitely some editing issues. Misplaced words, wrong words, left out words, and putting things people wished they had said in quotes instead of italics to represent thoughts. It messed with the flow but luckily the plot stood on its own. It was definitely interesting and held my attention. I think the author just needs to be more careful to polish the next book and edit carefully. It's something necessary to take her writing to the next level. If I'm just looking at the story alone I would give this book 4 stars. Take into account the poor editing and it's a 3. So 3.5 in my opinion.

All in all I thought this was a good, fun read. The storyline was strong enough to cover mistakes and I am really looking forward to finding out where everything is heading and what is in store for the other characters. And hopefully see a bit more of Taylor and Adam!

One overly frustrated man. One crazily upset woman. One life changing kiss.

"All I ever lost is returned again in that kiss, along with the gift of al I ever wanted."

Adam is mad at the world. He wanted out of the military, but he didn't want it to end the way it did. He doesn't enjoy being back home and around his family, but then again he's never enjoyed that. Then out of all the gloom he sees a woman with a sadness in her eyes that he can't help but want to kiss away, and so he does.

Taylor wants to believe that text was for, but she knows it wasn't. No matter how she tries to twist it in her head or how her ex tries to spin it...she knows the truth, deep down she knows. And knowing will give her the strength to risk everything on a simple chance. A chance to find the mystery man who kissed her into oblivion.

Adam is a back and forth 'he loves me, he loves me not' type of story. Taylor can't seem to make up her mind on what she wants or who she wants a life with. It's a yo-yo of emotions. Add in all of Adam's family drama, which I will warn you does not get solved in this book, and there's just a whole mess of stuff going on. I only give the warning because it's labeled as a standalone and yes Adam and Taylor's story is complete, but there are things that happen in Adam's family that are left incomplete. With how much emphasis is placed on his family you'll want to know what happen; I know I did. You'll more than likely have to read the next book in order to find out more.

This was a great read, the characters were interesting with plenty of back story that helped you connect with them.
The plot was sound and the story was very easy to read, it's a book you could easily read straight through if you had a few hours to just sit, a good beach book.
If you enjoy a strong male lead and intelligent yet slightly meeker female lead then you will enjoy this book, there are some steamy scenes within this book but nothing taboo.

I received a free copy of this book and chose to review it voluntarily.

This was a really easy page flipping read. At first it was hard for me to start but once I did I had a pretty easy time of just ambling at a nice pace through the pages. It’s going to sound bad when i say this but I LOVE how realistic Adam is. Hes *ucked up but he knows it. He knows he has issues and he tries so hard to reign them in and keep it under control. I enjoyed his development especially because I have a lot of military men in my life as it is so i related well to him. As for Taylor well, I hope that we get to see more of her because I don’t think she is done growing. I didn’t really like her and couldn’t put my finger on it until Henry shows up and then it hit me! I was just as obedient and self deprecating for the longest time. I’m a pretty chunky size 18 except it took me a long time to accept myself. Taylor had some pretty similar self issues and you can see the struggle she goes through trying to NOT put herself down. I appreciated this point of view from the author because it is so hard to really show this issue without over blowing the situation.

Now, I liked this story and it was sweet but i felt like the ending was just too abrupt. It went from yes were back together straight to 3 months later at the hearing and I just wish that maybe there was either more or that it had ended in front of the diner and picked up in another book. I get it cliffhangers happen and they don’t upset me like some however I was just confused when this ending came around. I definitely thought there was more story coming my way but there wasn’t!

I wasn’t really upset by this because I understand Authors are human too; If i liked the story less then i honestly probably wouldn’t be as nice about this but the story was good but the way it was written could be confusing at times. There would be some really choppy sentences and spelling errors that would make me double or triple take what I had just read. For me this isn’t a deal breaker but it did make some scenes more confusing and harder to read. I really hope the second one is edited a bit more just to make my luxurious page turning even easier.

Overall I enjoyed the book and would read the next one in the series out of just plain old curiosity and because I LOVE to see an author grow in their writing as well as reading about the characters.

I rated it on the blog as a 2.5

Adam of the Archers,is the first book in a series, was at times a bit intense but you really felt for both Adam and Taylor as they learned about each other. I would give it a solid 3.9 stars. I liked the story line even though at times I really didn't want Taylor to let Henry back into her life especially since she was much more happier with Adam.

Taylor has just returned back from a vacation with her boyfriend, Henry, an assistant professor who is older than she is. He treats her terribly and it affects her self esteem because of his mean comments about her weight, clumsy (who doesn't occasionally trip over their own feet?). But when she receives a text message from Henry, meant for someone who was still in France, not in New York where she was. When finds out that he's cheated, she decides to go to her families cabin where when her water quits working meets Adam when he come to repair it. They hit it off immediately because they've already met at his brother's concert where they kissed.

Adam has returned home to protect his mother because his father, who's due to come home within a week, has physical abused which has damaged her brain. He'll protect her at any cost even though he would much rather not be there when his father returns. Its not really said but apparently, his family is well known to law enforcement in their town and county. But Adam has spent the last eight years in the Marines but when he disagreed with his command after five of his team were killed in a firefight. With a dishonorable discharge on his record he can't re-enlist or find a decent job. When he meets Taylor all bets are off as they feel an instant attraction to each other.

While the plot and story focused on Adam and Taylor, I would have wished for a bit more back story on his family and why Taylor felt she needs to stay with Henry when he's verbally abusive to her. I'd also like to know more about why Adam's family wouldn't leave before the father was released from prison if he abused them all physically. The ending went from the two getting back together to Adam's reinstatement to the Marines three months later. That was the Huh? moment where you had to scratch you head wondering where the middle of the story went. Other than the gaps in the plot, the book was fairly decent, with the love story between Adam and Taylor that made me not skip through the book.

This is story of fated romance. Adam is an ex-marine with issues left over from his home life that were exacerbated by the trauma from his time in the military. Taylor has lived her entire life trying to be accepted by a family that seems to find fault with everything about her and a boy-friend that is constantly putting her down and act superior over her. Their chance meeting outside of o popular bar is a moment out of time, but each is left wanting to find the other again. They once again cross paths by chance and it seems that they are beginning t make progress at finding true love and acceptance of themselves when Adam's family's problems and Adam's anger at them may tear them apart.

Give yourself an escape from reality for a few hours and enjoy Lena Bourne's exciting and fast paced writing style that is very addictive. The story is written from both Adam and Taylor's point of view, but in such a way that you feel you are there within the stor itself. I fell in love with the characters. Some will make you smile, some will make you cry and others still will make you madder than a wet hen, but all are so well developed you will think they are real people. I look forward to book to with bated breath to see where Ms. Bourne will go next. One word of warning, this is book with some very hot explicit sex scenes (beautifully and tastefully done) and some offensive language (not as much as I was use to seeing from other erotic books). If you find these types of things offend you then don't get this book, but if it doesn't then don't miss out on this great new series by Lena Bourne. My rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 series.

This was my first book by Lena Bourne and I can’t wait to read more of her. This book is a bbw/military book. I was apprehensive at first cause most bbw books I find are very whiney. It’s like all the woman do is complain about their body and size. There’s no confidence ever. But this book there is none of the normal whining. What you will find is a woman who is just a woman. It was nice and refreshing that the author when writing wasn’t hung up on the size of the character. This story is told from Adam and Taylor’s POV.

Adam joined the army when he was 16. He came from a family that bullied him and didn’t really care much. The only person that mattered to him was his mom. Everyone in the army told him he was born for the job. He was an excellent machine. But when a mission went wrong and a bunch of his friends die he wanted out. But the army didn’t want him out but a dishonorable discharge was what finally came about. So with nowhere to go he went home to the one place he never wanted to go to. But one night changed it all. When he saw her everything changed for him. He had to make her his, he had to claim her. But the problem was he didn’t know how to find her.

Taylor was staying with family to get some space from her boyfriend. He was 10+ years older than her and they didn’t have much in common other than he was an author and she wanted to be. So when she was at the bar with her sister and a text comes in from her boyfriend she just knew it wasn’t for her. When she confronted him about it he said she was stupid and childish, but her gut just told her he was lying. So right then she decided to get away and go to her parents cabin and take care of herself. But when a stranger calls out to her and she lifts her eyes to talk to him she can’t believe how hot and sexy he is. When he grabs her and kisses her it’s the best kiss she has ever had. Then her sister takes her away and she has to find this man.

Adam and Taylors connection was intense. Taylor had a lot of self doubt from all the negative people in her life, but Adam helped bring out a confident woman in her. I hope we get more one day about Adam and Taylor.

This is book in the Archer Series. I would say that I liked the story. It was intense at times. Then the story would have a twist that did not really play out and left so many unanswered questions. Maybe the author will answer them in the other books in the series.

Adam is home but not by choice. He has no where else to go. He left the military and is not wanted back in his home town for something that happened years ago. But he needs to made rights some wrongs that he left. His family life was anything but easy and even as a young man, there are still issues that he can not control.

Taylor home from a holiday with her boyfriend receives a text message not for her. Then calling Henry about only confirms, hearing a female voice on the other end, only confirms Taylor's worries. But Henry refuses to admit that there is anyone but her. Henry does not tell her that he loves her but seems to always put her in her place. He is more controlling of the relationship.

So whats a girl to do? Share a kiss with a stranger. That is exactly what Taylor does. And that one kiss shows her so much more than she could ever dream of. How can there is by so much passion and want in just a simple kiss? Taylor begins to think that what she has with Henry is not what she wants to grow old with. But this guy is a stranger. How will she ever find him?

Fate seems to push Adam and Taylor together. They take that leap. Spending a week holed up in a cabin away from the outside world. But when Adam's past coming knocking, he must leave to handle family matters. Then Taylor's past comes knocking too. Can anything else happen to cause these two lovers want to run from each other? But the pull that they seems to have toward each other will have to be enough to fight off the bad that seems to be pushing its way into their world.

I look forward to reading more in the Archer series.

This book had a lot of potential. Adam was a hot, but broken, Marine who is back home after being away for 8 years. Taylor is trying to get over her boyfriend cheating on her when she randomly kisses Adam outside a bar. It was setup nicely, but unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations.

That being said, I did like Adam's character. He obviously came from an abusive family and had been through a lot in his 24 years, so he deserved to find happiness. I liked that he stood up for himself when his family and others tried to bully him, but he was getting really good at running away several times and that just annoyed me.

I didn't care for Taylor's character that much. She let others walk over her for most of the book, especially Henry, but I'm happy to see that she grew somewhat of a backbone by the end. She couldn't figure her feelings out either and that annoyed me. Oh and her being classified as a BBW was laughable - a size 10, 140 lb girl is not plus sized in my opinion.

There was no resolution to the thing with Adam's dad, but maybe that's what will happen in the next book, although this book didn't set it up that way. I wanted to see more of what happened in Adam & Taylor's lives afterwards too, but a couple pages were all that we got, so I didn't feel as though there was really a real ending to this book. The story line dragged on for so long and then ended in just a few anti-climatic pages.

I sometimes found myself having a hard time following along when thoughts would switch all of a sudden. I don't know if it was poor sentence structure/writing or if it was the author's intent. I really wish I could have given this a higher rating since the plot was definitely intriguing. I hope the next book in the series is better though since the brothers all seem like interesting characters that we only had a glimpse of in this book.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog
I started this book and was very excited to see where it would lead an ex-military who has secrets to hide and doesn’t want to be in his home town. Adam is a fabulous character and there is more to him than meets the eye. He is a dark brooding hunk of a guy who is unsure of himself in normal life after being in the military since he was 16 years old. He has a lot of mental scars from his time in the forces but now he’s out he needs to find his way in life again. He goes back to his family home where his abusive family live to try and take care of his mum. Can he get past the history between them all to make things work?
Taylor has aways felt like a misfit. Her family don’t approve of her choices including her relationship with someone much older than her. When Taylor finds something out she goes running to the family cabin for some alone time and to work stuff out but she never imagined she would bump into Adam. For Adam and Taylor it is pretty much love at first sight but can they overcome their own troubles and self-loathing to live HEA!
The first 50% of this book was fantastic we learn about the characters we see a blossoming relationship after that it starts to kinda drag a little. The constant on again off again gets a little boring. It clear Taylor and Adam have serious feelings for each other yet still thy resist each other and refuse to open up. Then when something serious happens in Adams family he is forced to get along with his brothers and uncle to try and work out what has happened.
There are quite a few plot holes and the story ends very abruptly the story line however has huge potential. This book is part of a series but each book is written on a different character so I would guess that we have pretty much seen the last of Adam and Taylor.
I rate this story 3 stars.

2.5 Stars I'm all for insta-love, but this one just didn't work for me. I just never connected with Taylor or Adam. Taylor was not a strong character and to call her BBW was a joke. I would not call someone her size Big and Beautiful but rather perfectly normal. Also at times, I had a hard time following the storyline transitions. Not sure if I will continue on with this series.
***I received an ARC from Netgalley for a fair review.

Adam is out with a friend, Jon one night. Of course it was at Jon's insistence that he come out and 'catch up'. What happens when they're out? We learn that Adam is a former Marine. Is he happy about being 'out' of active duty status or does he wish he were still in? Out one night with Taylor are Amanda and Claire. They're all friends. Amanda. Taylor has flown in from France to visit with Claire and Amanda. Taylor gets a text from her boyfriend in France, what does the text say and why does it prompt her to reply and then step outside and try to call him? What happens during the phone call? Adam is thrown out of the club through the back door, why? What did he do and what happens? What does Adam say to Taylor that gets them started talking? What happens when her sister and friend come out of the bar after the music ends and finds her kissing Adam? What do they do or say? Does he see her again? What is Adam's home life like? Why did he enlist in the Marines? What happens to Taylor when she goes up to her family's cabin? Who does her father tell her to call? Who is Phil? Will Taylor ever find Adam again? Will he find her? What happens to Adam after he gets home and his father comes home? Where does he go? What has he been doing while he's home? Who was he supposed to help? What happens with his father that has him up in arms, and what about the rest of his family? What happens when Taylor leaves but comes back? Why? Who follows her? You really need to read this book, because it has a little of everything for people who like different things. It kept me on the edge of my seat!

After Adam confronts his brother right before his concert, he has a chance encounter, after being kicked out of the bar.

Receiving a text from her boyfriend, that is completely out of character for him, Taylor calls him. During the call she hears a female voice in the background and knows the text was not meant for her.

Adam sees Taylor in the alley way, and tells her everything will be okay. Surprising himself for being vocal to a girl like that, he follows through with giving in to the pull and attraction towards her. Feelings spark and the kiss they share is unforgettable and then she's gone.

After letting a stranger, sexy stranger, kiss her, she gives herself the time she needs to pull herself together and move on from her cheating boyfriend.

Taylor flees to the family cabin to get away and get her mind and heart on the same page. Adam helps his uncle out with following up on a plumbing issue at a cabin his uncle maintains.

When these two characters find themselves face to face again, the brokenness of both can be felt deep into their souls. The attraction that pulls them together is something that neither can ignore. The helplessness that is present in both their lives is lessened with the time they spend together. Their chemistry flows with passion and lust. Both Adam and Taylor give in to their feelings and work against the lies, secrets and betrayals of their family members and friends.

This is a story about family, support, love, trust, betrayal, secrets, hope, loss, faith and forgiveness.

*I received an ARC copy in return of my honest review*

This story had tons of twists and turns from the get go. I loved that I was enveloped into the story as soon as I started. It started when two strangers met up by accident ( or by fate ) outside of a bar. The electricity around them has the need to be pulled in. Then it happens, the kiss that shook them to the core. How can two strangers have that kind of passion off the bat? You need to get this book to find out.

Adam was discharged from the Marines. He always lived on the high of the war. He was always good at it. While it seemed everyone else around him dies in combat, or in the past, he continues to come out alive. He lives in the dark almost all his life. His family situation was never good. But behind the dark, this military man has a heart. He is kind and protective to those he loves. That is why he went back home to take care of his mom, even though there are skeletons and pain he still had there. Can Adam ever can forgive himself?

Taylor has done what she has wanted, but her parents always felt she was just wasting her life away. She has a gut feeling her boyfriend is cheating on her, so she calls for quits. After that kiss, Adam is all she can think of. She leaves to a family cabin away from her life and guess what happens. Fate comes knocking on her door and there stands Adam. Can Taylor really be the one to stand up to his anger, pain, and his love all at once. It can be overbearing once you get it all.
This was a great read and could not be happier that there will be more books to come along in the series.
