Here you have found a book so foul, so repulsive, so horrifying... that you will undoubtedly find yourself running to the nearest bathroom in an effort to both relieve your bowels and scrub your hands clean of its putrid filth. Though these attempts will be in vain -- just as the authors of this demented book of short stories have planned. I speak of none other than the intolerable Mr. Vincent V. Cava and his dimwitted pen pal, S.R. Tooms (the pair oftentimes billed simply as Hideous and Handsome). They have finally released this humorous collection of terrifying tales, despite the bitter public outcry which demanded these pages never see the light of day.
Original Review (via my phone on holiday)- amazingly creative and creepy just like I expected. A must read for fans of horror and dark humor.
Revamped Review (via my computer at home) - A collection of shocking short horror stories, a delightful (I use this word lightly) addition to my book shelf. Each story drew me in further and further into the pit of blood, maggot's and imagination until I was reading these stories to other's (against their will) to share my enjoyment. When I turned the last page I felt a sense of loss that there would be no more stories, no more twist's and turn's. I will re-read this quite soon and highly reccommend this book to other's who enjoy dark humour, imagination and horror.
Decomposing Head is a collection of very short fiction -- most under 10 minutes for audiobook readers. These stories will have you laughing while gritting your teeth and trying to hold in your gorge while chuckling. Some are creepy and will leave you looking over your shoulder for a few minutes. If you are wondering if this will be too much for you, read the first story, "Gas Station Bathroom." If you can get past the wonderfully...um...descriptive portions of that narrative, you will be fine. Most of the stories have a clever twist at the end and some of them left me sitting and staring off into the distance thinking "Wow, he really did go there."
