_______________
THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW
Join renowned teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan as he guides you through the land of the Bible. In each lesson, Vander Laan illuminates the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the sacred Scriptures.
Filmed on location in the Middle East and elsewhere, the That the World May Know film series will transform your understanding of God and challenge you to be a true follower of Jesus.
This is an excellent and thorough examination of the land of Israel in Jesus' time. In particular, this book is an excellent companion with the DVD series that Ray Vander Laan recorded in the Holy Land. Deeper insight into some of the stories and texts of the Bible pertaining to Jesus' life and times and his ministry, is obtained by examining ancient sites and archaeological digs, placing the stories of the Bible in their proper context. I would recommend this book and its companion DVD for serious biblical Scholars and curious lay people alike.
I only did part of this Bible study. It wasn't as meaningful to me as previous Ray Vander Laan books and videos have been previously. I think it's partly because I've been to Israel and partly because I'm just in a different stage of my walk. I found the questions to be tedious to answer.
