When his three-day marriage ends in an annulment, country music sensation Brody Kent finds himself on the run from paparazzi intent on discovering why. Seeking shelter with his old friend at the Willow Springs Ranch might not be his wisest choice, considering the place is crawling with gay cowboys, but he needs someone he can trust and time alone to look for the joy that’s been missing from his music. Although no one should know of his travel plans, before he can make the turn to relative safety, Brody’s run off the road by a rogue reporter determined to get a scoop. A very different cowboy rides to his rescue…and Brody can’t help but wonder, well, a lot of things. The men at the WSR might work hard and play harder, but as the long-awaited Ranch Quest approaches, ranch hand Whit Truman needs to focus on preparing to host the sick children and not the oh-so-sexy voice from his past due to arrive at any minute. Not that the singer would have any reason to remember his brother’s childhood friend. When a desert storm postpones the event by a week, Whit takes some much-needed time off, only to stumble upon the object of his avoidance in a most surprising place. The walking, talking grown-up version of his teenage crush isn’t anything like the arrogant megastar Brody plays onstage—most of the time. That unexpected vulnerability could prove to be Whit’s undoing, as he vows to do everything in his power to protect Brody…if he doesn’t kill him first.

Okay, I get it...Laura Harner is a writing machine....Busy with Pulp Friction 2013 and 2014, she still takes a moment and blesses us with another peek into Willow Springs Ranch. Whit's End was a reminder of how much I miss the guys and I just loved seeing them in the setting of home and happiness. Cass and Ty simmer even as they look at each other and I hope that remeins 5 years from now !!!!

Brody is being terrorized by the limelight, the reporters, the paparazzi and all that comes with being a star. He has made a tremendous mistake, the country singer marrying a young starlett and wanting an annulment after three days. Rumors are running rampant and not in a good way....Gay rumors are flying and during a tremendous rainstorm as he tries to escape to his friend Cass's ranch at Willow Springs, he finds Whit Truman. Whits truck is immobilized and Brody's car breaks down in the same place fleeing a reporter.

They say God works in wondrous ways. Has God smiled down on Brody and Whit? Laura you have done it again, the sizzling heat, the sexual tension and the great story for Book 6.
I can only say anyone who likes cowboys with sexy storylines....try it.

It's no secret that Laura Harner is a favorite writer of mine, and that WSR is one of my all time favorite series. Once again, not disappointed.

This is Whit Truman's story. Everyone is getting ready for the long awaited Ranch Quest, the outing for ill/handicapped children. Into this whirlwind of activities comes country singer Brody Kent. He's been invited to stay at the ranch following a fiasco wedding and paparazzi that won't leave him alone. Brody doesn't remember a certain 12 year old, but Whit has never forgotten his first crush.

Lots of angst, lots of soul searching weighing happiness against career. I enjoyed the two mc characters immensely. It never fails to leave me wishing I was working on WSR.

I’m glad I finally read this last book in the WSR series. I’d like to think the author will someday write Cliff’s story but I believe the accusations and reports of plagiarism against Laura Harner will probably prevent her from ever completely finishing the series. I am in no way condoning what she did I’m simply explaining why I believe I’ll never see an end to this well loved series.

‘Ty Hard’ will always be a favorite of mine but each of these books has held their own place in my heart. Whit and Brody just joined a much loved family that I wish were real because I’d sure spend a lot of time on that ranch!

Whit’s End by Laura Harner
Book #6: Willow Springs Ranch Series
Source: Purchase
My Rating: 4/5 stars
My Review:

Brody Kent has spent the bulk of his life living his life in the public eye. As a country music sensation, Brody’s every move, every word, and every action is chronicled by the press. For many years, Brody was OK with the constant attention but, of late, the attention hasn’t been good and Brody needs some time to regroup and to do that, he has to escape. With the help of his old friend, Cass, Brody makes his way toward the Willow Springs Ranch.

Whit has been at the WSR for a lot years and has no intention of ever leaving. Though he loves the ranch and will continue working there, he wants a place of his own and with Cass’s help, that has become possible. The cabin is small and it will take a very long time to get the land and his home the way he wants it, but Whit is more than willing to put in the time, effort, and money. For the time being, his home away from the WSR is just right for one but could accommodate two if the need arose. Turns out, the weather is just in the mood to have Whit’s home accommodate two.

The second they get safely out of the weather and into Whit’s tiny cabin, the attraction between Whit and Brody is evident. Whit has no problem giving into the attraction as long as Brody is willing to go the distance. Whit has no interest in being another of Brody’s one night stands. Brody clearly and freely admits to being bisexual in private but if the world were to discover his attraction to men, it would likely ruin his career. Make no mistake, he wants to give into his attraction to Whit but his life is already such a mess that he just can’t risk any further scandal or controversy. For the time being, Brody is safe with Whit and once the weather passes, he’ll be able to take up residence at the WSR.

Life at the WSR is crazier than normal with the preparations for Ranch Quest in full swing. Cass knows he and his men can protect Brody and his whereabouts under normal circumstances but with all the activity, Cass feels it’s best to have Whit remain by Brody’s side. The attraction between the men continues to grow but there is hesitation on both sides. For the first time in years, Brody is able to write music again, he isn’t being hounded by the press on a regular basis, and he has found someone he is certain he can he happy with. If only the world he lives in could accept the truth of Brody and his life.

Whit has every intention of protecting Brody and as their relationship evolves into something real, he takes his duties all the more seriously. Unfortunately, getting to an HEA isn’t going to be easy and it is going to require that Whit break Brody’s heart and cause him to question everything and everyone in his life. If Brody can survive what he perceives to be the ultimate betrayal, he will be able to make his way back to Whit and to a life that is truly a happily ever after for them both.

The Bottom Line: With the major plot line of the series resolved in the previous read, Whit’s End comes back around to telling the story of just two people, Whit and Brody. Whit has made the occasional appearance in previous installments of the series so it is appropriate that he finally get his own book. Whit isn’t sad per se but he is looking for his forever and had no idea his forever would be in the form of a man he already has a history with. There is some fine backstory in this read, some fine story in the present, and by the time you get to the end, a fine future for two incredibly deserving men. Whit’s End is a an excellent rebound from the disaster that was Park’s Lot and gives me incredible hope for the future of the series.

This is book Six in the Willow Springs Ranch series, but it stands alone fine.
Whit is face with a shadow form his past. He has crushed on Brody Kent since he was a teen and his worst fears are confirmed when Brody shows up. Brody doesn’t remember him at all.
Brody is expected at Willow Springs ranch to hide out from the media after a 3-day marriage disaster. The press is hounding him and he wants nothing more than to hole up and try to figure out the best damage control.

Bad weather and a reporter hot on his tail sends him off the path to Willow Springs and in the lap…well truck of Whit. Is it coincidence or fate at work?

This is a very good story of closeted gay, childhood crushes and coming out. Whit is a very sexy cowboy and good man working hard to earn a ranch of his own. I loved the conflict with Brody and the interference of Cass and Ty. Those two are sure becoming some sexy cowboy matchmakers. I have been waiting several books to see this new camp and wasn’t disappointed. I loved the interaction of the cowboys and the handicapped kids and would have loved even more.
To me the plot fell a bit short. I expected so much more of the conflict and resolution. I would have liked more on the marriage of Brody and Lisa and Tim’s involvement. Now I am ready for more sexy cowboys at the WSR.

If you like coming out, sexy ranch hands, camps for handicapped children, Navy Seals, Jarheads, rodeo stars, country music stars, good romance and some hot man-sex this is definitely for you.

Second chances Western on a ranch M/M romance with childhood friends that meet like strangers when then are adults and very different. Singer Western star, Brody Kent is looking for a hole to hide in while the latest scandal blows over and instead finds love at the Willow Springs Ranch with the cowboy Whit.
Cute story with nasty news reporters and back stabbing friends as well as good people trying to help each other. As nice as it was getting to check in with Ty and Cass, this story didn't have much meat to it because the main characters Whit and Brody are apart for most of their 'romance'.

Great read if...you enjoyed the other books in the series, MM fiction, country music, hot sex, romance, falling love, lost loves, cowboys, drama and a HEA!

Side Note: Love Laura's Books! I just do! Gay cowboys are actually my favorite kind of cowboys as crazy as some people might think that sounds. More importantly, Laura's writing has that happily every after, whirlwind, drive you crazy happy kind of romance twist to it. I think that's important in a sexually driven based industry! I think she does it well! And I HATE waiting for the next book, but LOVE every time I get one.

This is the sixth story in this amazing, emotional Willow Springs Ranch Series. It's hard to believe there has been this many and this adventure was as exciting as the last. The relationship between Whit and Brody was so touching because it was forbidden. Sad that they had to hide how they felt for each other and live lives that weren't true to who they are. I loved that in this story you can catch up with characters from the previous books. This was a terrific story about how true love always has a home. I highly recommend this book and this series!!!

Brody Kent is a country singer who needs to get away from everyting (mostly the media) he decides to come to the Willow Springs Ranch for some peace. But before he gets there he's run off the road by a tabloid reporter.
Whit Truman a cowboy rides to his rescue and discovers that the man he's rescued is the grown-up version of his teenage crush.

This is the first book i read in this serie and i enjoyed it very much. Both Brody and Whit are very lovable. I also liked it that they didn't jump in bed but got to know each other a little better first.

Sadly, I feel I have no other choice than to reduce my ratings for all Laura Harner books. The evidence of plagiarism for some of her books appears incontrovertible and she has even apologized for it. This, for me, taints her entire body of work. I can no longer trust the integrity of any of her writing.

This in no way reflects upon the integrity or quality of any author with whom she collaborated.

Like the other stories in the other stories in the WSR series, this one was too short... it could have been expanded in a NON draggy way to bring us more of the main characters Whit and Brody... there is still SO MUCH more to tell.

I enjoyed the relationship they had and loved that the guys knew each other in school, but I thought it was cute how Brody didn't remember Whit but Whit was SO BEYOND in love with him even back then.

3.5 out of 5

Another nice addition to the series. I'm not to sure about how I feel abiut this book. It was good, but not as good as the rest of the series. It almost felt as an after thought. It was nice to see the other characters and the kids events, but the plot was a little flat. Overall, a good easy read.

Another Smexy, lovely, sweet and teary eyed story about the men of Willow Springs Ranch. This one was a little sappy and a bit of a trope. Mega star country singer, sick of the celebrity life falls on love with a cowboy while trying to hide from his public. Ugh.

But, Laura handles it well and brings us to tears with Brandy as well as introducing us to Cliff our next in line for love I'm sure.

Probably my favorite book in the series. I really enjoyed Brody and Whit together. I loved how sure and patient Whit was, and how he gave Brody the time and space to make his own choices without badgering him. Also enjoyed the lack of the overarching "criminal" subplot the previous 5 books had. Very enjoyable light read. Minimal angst.

Whit's End

I loved this book. Brody did not even remember who Whit is until he reminded him. Brody has a lot of trust issues so had a hard time with his feelings for Whit. But, they dealt with them and fell in love with each other. Erin

This was a great book!

She did it again! I am really glad there was another Willow Springs Ranch. I liked the singer angle too. I really would like there to be a number 7,8,9,10 etc.
Thanks Laura!

3.5 stars--a very decent book but not, by far, one of my favorite from Ms. Harner. It could have just been me, but this one just didn't click--I felt distanced from it. Still, I love the series and enjoyed this relatively quick read.

While I really liked Whit and Brody together, there was something missing in this story. It was good, but not near as good as the previous books.

Loved this story, as with all of the Willow Springs Ranch books, we get incredible characters that are well-developed and focused. My only complaint is that I would have liked to read more...
