By day Emlyn is a mild mannered secondary school teacher, but when evening falls he can often be found hiding away from his family in his endless quest to write the worlds greatest novel and discover the cure for capitalism.
Emlyn lives in sunny Sussex with his long suffering wife and 2 adorable children.
Emlyn has written 3 novels and is currently working on his 4th:
Diary of a Teenage Murderer:
Emlyn's first book (released February 2015). The novel has been well received (particularly in India!) and is a warm hearted look at teenage life with a twist. The book is currently being developed into a script and plans are in place for it to be made into a feature film in the not too distant future. If you love Adrian Mole and books that make you laugh out loud then this one is definitely for you!
Part 2 is in development!
Trying to Run In Prison:
Emlyn's second novel (released June 2015) is a very different book to his first. Stemming from a dream he had in 1997, Trying to Run In Prison is a tense Psychological thriller which delivers a killer twist at the end. The book begins with us discovering 3 dead bodies in a room and then takes us on the nightmare journey of 3 characters with one inevitable destination. A must for those with a love for mystery books with an edge.
Jack Jackson V's The Midnight Army (Due for Release March 2016):
Jack is a lonely 10-year-old boy. He lives in the tiny Village of Little Bottombump in an enormous old house with his dad. A chance meeting with a very strange old lady in the neighboring village sees Jack whisked away to a new and dangerous World. A World where an evil force threatens the destruction of not only this planet, but his own. Jack must quickly make new friends, learn new skills and take a stand. The future of the World is depending on him!
A must for fans of Roald Dahl and C S Lewis and the first in a four part series
Loved the diary style of writing. The first part of this, had some amusing antedotes. I laughed quite a bit, The part with Todd, made me mad. I do not like bullies. He deserved what he got. Matt proved to be resourceful and I hope there is a sequel.
I don't know what I think about this book. It starts as Adrian Mole without the willy measuring, and ends with no real satisfactory conclusion. (Obviously I have made up several further endings in my mind)
I should hate it.
I really enjoyed it. The character is believable, there's enough information but not too much, and the situation he finds himself in is something that happens to teenagers. Admittedly, what he does, and then has to do, isn't logical, but then I've never been in that position.
Started reading this book and found it a bit Adrian Moleish, but without the descriptions he used to give. Then it abruptly ended, no warning no tying up loose ends. It was all very peculiar.
Didn't realize until I was finished that this was aimed at teenagers. Truly awful unbelievable story. Utter Nonsense from start to finish and if that's no bad enough it is only the first part of a two part story, of course there is no indication of this when you buy the book. Gave it one star only because there was no option for zero stars.
I enjoyed the format of this book, I haven't read all that many books written as a diary so it was a nice change. I found Matthew to be quite a funny and believable character, his interactions with his parents, little brother etc were very true to life. Having never killed anyone I can't say if his reaction to what happens is the norm but I found his way of handling things interesting, all things considered he functioned pretty well after becoming a murderer. I didn't expect the book to end when it did, I thought the murder would take place before the halfway point of the book and there to be more focus on the aftermath. As the book ended to abruptly I assumed there was probably a second book to download and I have to say I was sad that there wasn't! I'm hoping that there will be a part two in the future as I'd certainly like to find out what happens to Matthew next.
I did enjoy this book. Although it was slow to get going, no spoilers but if you've read it, you'll know what I mean. Also it finished so suddenly that I'm expecting a second part. It can't end there surely.
