A teen girl's guide to discovering her true worth through God.
Self-worth is one of the biggest struggles for teen girls, and bestselling author Vicki Courtney offers just-right encouragement with her special blend of straight talk and wisdom. Reflect will help teen girls to love what they see in the mirror, to deal with the pressures to look and be perfect, and to truly believe they are worthy and wonderful, just the way God created them.
Vicki Courtney is the best-selling author of numerous books for women, tweens, and teen girls including, Motherhood Is Not Your Highest Calling, Rest Assured, Move On, 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter, 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Son, and Between Us. She is the recipient of a Mom's Choice award and two ECPA Christian Book Awards. She and her husband, Keith reside in the Texas hill country and are the proud parents of three grown children and grandparents to ten grandchildren.
This book can be enjoyed by high school or college students. This book is similar to a teen magazine in the sense that there are articles on different topics (body image, perfectionism, relationships, etc.), quizzes, and words of advice from other girls. Many of these articles are centered around a specific Biblical truth that helps connect real life issues with what the Bible teaches. Throughout the book, it is clear the author wants girls to know that their worth and purpose comes from God, not by who the world says/thinks they are. It's an important message that young women need to hear.
(On a side note, some of the topics may seem a bit mature for younger teens. Parents or other adults may want to read these sections with their reader and use them as a way to start a discussion).
