THE LAST ONE: He was the last one she wanted. She was the last one he needed. Nobody ever said love was easy.

THE FIRST ONE: They were each other's first love. When he left town and broke her heart, she thought she'd never love again. But sometimes first love can be the one that lasts forever.

THE ONLY ONE: After he lost his wife, Mason never wanted to risk his heart again. With her quiet innocence, shy Rilla Grant seems to be a safe choice to help him with his daughter's care. But he didn't count on her being his greatest temptation.

Sometimes love's not the easy choice. Sometimes it's the only one.

I know the blurb says that there will be tears and laughter and to be prepared for that but I didn't believe it. Believe it! This series it's so amazingly good! In every story there was laughter and tears and so much more. Tawdra Kandle told three stories that show humanity through life and love and faith and hope and fear. It's all in there and I loved it. This series is definitely one to read again!

THE LAST ONE
Meghan is an art student with amazing talent but no direction. She feels a little lost as everyone else in her life moves forward. She takes a chance on a teaching program and loves it. However, she ends up being hosted by the guy who yelled at her after a wild night. Sam Reynolds had to grow up way too fast when his parents died in an accident and the family farm is his first priority, coming second only to his little sister and her daughter. He definitely does not have time for the irresponsible party girl he met before. But the sparks fly and they agree to have a summer fling. The rest is history but Tawdra puts her own special spin on the story. It is unique and deep and feels very real.
I really loved the understanding that Sam and Meghan had for each other, after the initial tension of course. They both connect on a very deep level through their common history. Sam is so romantic and sweet and wonderful throughout the entire romance and beyond. Meghan is awesome and I related to her in a lot of ways. The growth that I saw in her was beautiful and wonderful.

THE FIRST ONE
Ali Reynolds has raised her daughter alone for seven years, with no help but from her offer brother. Now he has a serious girlfriend and she is feeling like a third wheel. At the same time, the father of her child is back in town in mourning. Flynn Evans is a photojournalist and has travelled the world, never returning to his small hometown since leaving after high school. The heartbreak from the breakup with Ali was just too much. But when there is a tragedy in the family, he has to return, only to find out he has a daughter and the girl he loved is still the one for him. As they sort through the resentment of their past and the challenges of the present they work to find a future together.
In this story, Tawdra focused more on the trouble that fear creates and the opportunities lost through it. The conflict of this story, while it is one that I have seen before and could have been really trite and tired was beautifully done. Ali was afraid but worked to move past it, while keeping the past in mind as a lesson learned. Flynn, while angry, was able to see the beauty of his situation with Ali and their daughter, learning and growing in order to keep them. This was not my favorite of all the stories in the series but it was very good. They just seemed very caught up in their past or almost 9 years. They are both adults with a child but occasionally, it seemed like they were still in high school.Of course, they both grew and blossomed beautifully but just sometimes I felt like they were not acting their ages. Of course, this makes it more human and more real, indicating the talent of Tawdra. It was also a great continuation of the seeds sowed in the first book with Meghan and Sam.

THE ONLY ONE
Rilla Grant is coming out of her shell, starting her PR business and working with the Reynolds' at their food stand. All is good except that her super-religious father is not on board with her growth. He has a plan for her but she's not loving it. In the process of growing her PR business, she meets Mason Wallace, the owner and bartender of the new bar in town. When he mentions needing a caretaker for his you my daughter and sick mother, Rilla jumps on it. Her father, again, does not agree and after one too many fights, kicks her out. Mason offers her a room and all is well until the people from her church are condemning her. Mason proposes to save her from sin and she agrees. They are happy until the past comes up, reminding them both of fear. Again, Tawdra had done an amazing job touching on real emotional situations. This story had more religions influence than the other two but it was not preachy. The tone is more explorative and questioning than anything what. She brings up the question of faith in several different ways. It is well worth reading.
Rilla is quiet and a little bit uncertain but she is strong and tough and her growth is tremendous! Mason is wonderful in this process. He is there for her, helping her and letting her set the pace of everything. Rilla's patience for Mason is also great, though I was impressed that she put her foot down when she did. This entire story was very well done and very emotional.

THE PERFECT ONE
Alex Nelson is a character we have seen through the entire rest of the series and fabulous! He is a gay man in a very small, backwoods, southern town and he is friends with everyone. This is his story. We finally get to meet Cal and see the love unfold. This story is after the epilogue of the other stories and completely different so if it's not your style, it's easy to avoid. However, if you like the rest of the series, seeing Alex happy is an option in this bundle. I, for one, loved reading it.

This entire series is something I would read again and I definitely will. It is well worth buying and reading. Some box sets are very clunky and dip not have good transitions. This is not one of those. Each book flows, one to another very well. We continue to see characters throughout the series and see everyone live happily ever after. I would recommend it to anyone!

Nice trilogy + a little extra

I started this trilogy thinking that I would skim it quickly between work deadlines and movies during my flight. Well, I never got to the movies, and I started book 2 and 3 on other flights. Almost missed some deadlines since I wanted to finish them!

Some of the plot in each book became transparent, but that doesn’t take away from the fun of getting to know the characters. It feels like book 3 could’ve gone on longer with additional twists, but all in all, I enjoyed the series.

After reading The Posse by Tawdra I just had to give this series a go, and I wasn't disappointed. One of my favorite authors is Freya Barker with the way that she can take you on an emotional ride with the genuine characters she creates. Tawdra's writing is right up there too and I love how these are just everyday people with everyday issues.
I absolutely loved the first 3 books but was a little disappointed with the quick story that we got for Alex who was one of my favorite characters from the earlier books. I just thought he deserved a little better.

5 Stars-Amazing (couldn't put the book down-dangerous addiction),

Overall this series was amazing. Individually I gave each book a four-star only because Individually each book was good, the pace was amazing I wasn't necessarily drooling over all the characters but over all all three books together the series was amazing. Each character had its own set of trials and tribulations and the road to happiness was a long one but nevertheless a happy one.

This series is a set of three standalone books with in the series. Each book can be read and enjoyed with an HEA. The characters are intertwined in someway, whether they're family or friends so you will see the characters from the other books continuing in the new ones to see where they stand at that point so I suggest if you're reading this as a series, it's great, if you're reading them as a standalone and don't want to fuss over to the other books I suggest you rethink that and fuss fuss fuss because together all three books were an amazing read.

Easy read

The trilogy was an easy read. The three women in this trilogy had quite a lot of patience. And the men were foolish to not recognize love at their doorsteps. Not to say the woman weren’t foolish either. But rather then list the things I did not like such it need some minor editing, I will list my favorite of the trilogy. It had to be the final one with Rilla and Mason. He was stubborn and she was kind. And they meshed well together. It was definitely love and every time Rilla heart broke so did mine.

Enjoyable Box Set - 3.5 ⭐️

3x full books and 1 novella, each a standalone but interconnected. Heat rating around 7/10, some pretty swoon worthy romance and interesting stories. Could definitely use a thorough proof read and edit though. Lots of missing words, wrong names of characters used, one minute it’s late afternoon and in the next sentence it mentions the ‘early morning light’ … it got to be a bit frustrating

Low 3

Overall these are more sexual than I like. The first especially spent most of the time driven by lust insyead of plot or character. The others had stronger basis in character but still tended in some to go beyond what I enjoy reading. I prefer relying on my own imagination for more of the intimate details.

These are wonderfully engaging love stories filled with lots of emotions, some heartwarming and some heartache, but there’s plenty of sweet romance with some steamy passion. The characters and storylines are delightful and charming, capturing your interest from beginning to end. This is a series you don’t want to miss!

A great boxed set.

This is a great boxed set. Each story has real people in it. The plots are based on what happens in life and I loved travelling each character's journey with them. I'll be looking out for other stories by this author that are associated with these characters.
