Now her only desire is to survive the grueling DEEP Training program and leave that scandalous past behind.

A cadet with a secret. An officer with a secret kink. A whole lot of rules to be broken.

Lana Marsden is looking for a fresh start, one where her past is left behind. She’s focused and ready to take on the training of her life—her future life. She just needs to make it through the twelve week DEEP Training Program and she’ll be ready to move forward, living and working in deep space.
Lana’s training will be held on the notorious Station Six—where wild rumors of exotic hazing rituals and sadomasochistic games occur. Lana doesn’t believe the rumors, her brother is a trainer on Station Six after all, but what happens when the truth becomes reality? Especially when said rumors and reality are tied together with over six feet of a hot and sexy man—Sergeant “Catch" Durant, Lana’s tatted-up trainer, and also Lana’s brother’s best friend.
Catch Durant can’t help his attraction to Lana. He knows she’s supposed to be off limits because she’s his trainee and his best friend’s little sister. But after one night of amazing sex, Catch and Lana know one night is not enough. But are they willing to risk their futures for more?
Oh, there is so much promise in this series. I really liked both Lana and Catch. Their scenes together were scorching, tender, infuriating, and awesome. Lana’s brother, Alex is awesome too—just enough of an overprotective brother but also an amazing friend, Alex balanced out his brotherly responsibilities with his playboy ways very well. Unfortunately, there were some aspects of the story that were never really expanded upon, including more of the foreshadowed kinks between Lana and Catch, as well as some storylines that detracted (Master, for one) that I hope Ms. Diamond works through in the next book in the series. ~ Missy, 3.5 stars
****4.5 stars**** This book was SO what the doctor ordered for me!! I was in need of something completely different to really grab my attention, and Jaine Diamond did just that with this incredible debut novel that will leave readers panting, tied in knots, and cursing how quickly that last page showed up! Lana Marsden is a textbook strong heroine that I just loved, and Catch is the perfect blend of twisted and deliciously sexy. Top that off with a completely unique storyline set in the cosmos, and I was hooked!
Lana had heard the rumors about Station Six before she arrived, but she had her heart and mind set on heading out into deep space and nothing was going to stop her. Not her overprotective brother who would be her superior, not the grueling training, and certainly not some lust-driven hazing rituals that were surely overblown. But the moment Sergeant Durant walked into her life, she was in for a rude awakening when it came to what lines could be crossed as well as the boundaries of her own hard limits. It all seemed innocent enough on the surface; Lana was put through the same rigorous physical and mental training that all of the other trainees were, and she was seriously bad-ass. But the sexually-charged undertones that you could feel bubbling to the surface around her and with the others at the facility had my heart racing, and as the draw between her and Catch became too strong to deny…holy hell did it ever ignite! I loved that, at the core, this was a story about a strong woman proving herself in this cool military-style space training program, but underneath all of that was this erotic BDSM storyline that somehow fit in flawlessly.
Lana and Catch had complications from the start, what with the whole ‘no fraternization’ rule and Lana’s brother being Catch’s best friend. She wasn’t at Station Six to mingle, let alone get involved with someone, and there was resistance on both sides given that Catch was in a difficult position. But no amount of weighing consequences was strong enough to break the draw they had to each other, and I loved gradually seeing all of their reasons to resist melt away. That’s not to say they jumped in head first, and I’m so glad they didn’t because the slow progression of their physical relationship along with Catch’s loosening grasp on what his true desires were was hot hot hot! There were some moments that had me cringing, because boundaries were pushed and I just wanted to slap Catch right along with Lana. But it was all a part of the bigger picture, and when those last pages started to unfold I was desperate for it not to end yet. It’s going to be a painful wait for the next installment, but I’m so excited to see what this talented new author has in store for us next!!
Quotes:
“Please, turn off the light.” “The light is staying on. I know you like to watch, Lana. We both like to look at you. Your hands are free for one reason. Put them on your body.” ~Loc 1931
“Thank you, Commander.” She doesn’t understand it yet; he know she doesn’t. That she’s not the one being bound. ~Loc 2080
Did it turn him on to have her helpless? To hurt her? To make her want him? To deprive her of what she really wanted? She’s afraid at some point it will be too much, and she wants to be able to tell him to stop. On the other hand, she never wants him to stop. ~Loc 2175
“I’ll do anything for you,” he whispers. “You can do anything you want to me.” ~Loc 4457
When I first read about this book I had no idea it was set in the future. How cool is that!! It's been a while since I have read any sci-fi type of book and it was really entertaining. I. The beginning you are given a lot of background story and information to get you caught up to the times they are in. And the DEEP program. Lana is just starting her rounds in the DEEP and she is determined to complete the program so she can be launched into deep space and start completing missions.
The DEEP program is kinda like being apart of the police academy in a way. Lana is a cadet and she must complete a series of missions and some grueling physical challenges. You are broken down and built back up. Not everyone is cut out for DEEP space and this is their way of seeing who is strong enough to with stand the pressure and silence that you can only experience when in space. Lana has always dreamed and strived to be a part of the DEEP program and has worked hard to prove herself worthy. Lana wants to be as far away from planet earth and her parents as she cause. And what's further away then space? Her thoughts exactly. However, much like everything we work so hard for, when we finally obtain it, it's not always as shiny and "green" as we may of thought it was.
Lana never thought she would find anything she wants as much as the DEEP, until she meets her program trainer, Sergeant "Catch" Durant. Catch is drop dead gorgeous and a strong, silent type. There is only one rule in the DEEP program, no hooking up with those that rank higher then you. But like any rules set in place, they are meant to be broke. The attraction between Lana and Catch is strong and intense, try as they might they just can't seem to fight it, no matter how hard Catch tries. You see not only is Catch lana's trainer he is also her brothers best friend. A very protective only brother who is also aboard their ship.
I really loved the build up between Catch and Lana. Catch want her but knows that's a very bad thing to want. Not only because of the rules, but because Catch is not looking to get involved with anyone. He is still dealing with the fall out of his last relationship. The author is very clever with that story line because you only get bits and pieces, you never really find out what happen between Catch and his ex. You knows it's not anything positive though. Catch has a hard time letting go of his past and by the time he does, it maybe too late. The story ends in a way that leaves you swiping your kindle to the right in hopes that you find a few lost pages to keep the story going. It was just that good guys.
I can not wait to continue the story of Lana and Catch, and I hope we get more from some of the secondary characters as well. There is this awesome storyline between Lana's brother and her friend Scarlett that I'm just dying to find it more about. I recommend this series to anyone who's ever wondered what forbidden nookie in deep space feels like.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
This book captured my attention from the first page to the last-- so much so that when I came from work, I left the TV off and just powered up the Kindle.
To me, this book is about finding yourself, finding what you need and who you need. Lana is searching for herself, a place to belong, of someone to call her own. Lana has always felt as though she's an afterthought - especially within her own family. Joining the ISC has given her a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging.
When she arrives at Station Six, she knows she in for the longest three months of her life, but what she doesn't expect is to find a man that takes her breath away. Annnnd, he's off limites. Not only is her CO, he's also her brother's best friend.
Catch is on Station Six after being demoted as a pilot. He doesn't necessarily hate being a trainer, nor does he long for the days of being a pilot again. He's not sure what he wants, other than to keep his head above water this quarter. With the ISC brass breathing down their collective necks amid all the rumors of sexual exploits at Station Six, he's determined to keep his focus on his trainees. Until he meets his best friends sister.
Circling each other for weeks, Lana and Catch finally begin ... something. Neither is quite sure what to call it, but whatever "it" is, it calls to them on a level that neither can ignore.
I lvoed the way the author brought in elements of all sorts of styles, bondage, spanking, and lots and lots of play. BIG SMILE LOL
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. I was surprised by this book, I did not realize it was set in the future and in space. I use to love watching Deep Space Nine, a Star Trak spinoff and always wondered what it would be like to live in the future. This story takes me there, right into the DEEP. Lana Marsden is running from her past and right into the DEEP, away from her family and the past she wants to forget. So while she is training with the International Space Corps she has two rule she will not break, no crossing the line with officers and no bondage. So when she is assigned to Station Six for her final training before her assignment, the rumors are more than she wants to hear. Station Six is where her brother Adam aka First is stationed and she can’t wait to see him. She will do what she needs to do to get what she wants and has trained for. Tristan “Catch” Durant is a trainer on Station Six and First’s best friend. And with First asking him to keep an eye on Lana since she is going to be in his unit. Catch never thinks what that will mean in the end. He has a past that has him putting walls up to keep himself from getting hurt. Can Lana and Catch follow the rules and not give in to the attraction they feel for each other? Will Catch show her special treatment because she is the only girl in his unit? Can Lana push herself to get what she wants and where she wants to be stationed in the end? This is a first for me from Jaine Diamond and I loved it and can’t wait for more. I need to know what happens between Lana and Catch. And what is going to happen with First and Scarlet?
I have mixed feelings about Jaine Diamond’s DEEP. This book is hot. It’s sexy. It has the troubled hero that we come to expect with BDSM erotica, who isn’t a borderline abusive asshole. Our heroine isn’t some fresh-plucked flower that’s new to sex and gratingly innocent. She’s young and maybe a bit naive, but she’s also independent, strong-willed, and all about kicking ass in ISC training and finding herself. Catch and Lana’s relationship will have you sweating in the best of ways.
This is a good book that has the potential to be great. For one, the present tense was distracting, especially as it wasn’t consistent. And we have this great setting, but it wasn’t fully utilized. Why are we in space? What sort of missions are happening? Is there alien life?
Pacing suffered somewhat from too much exposition. I wanted to be inside Catch and Lana’s heads, see the training, see Lana’s reaction to Station Six as it’s happening. There were brief moments of this, but not nearly enough.
The no fraternization policy never came into play, and Lana and Catch had enough issues that it wasn’t needed – past relationship drama, Catch being Lana’s brother’s best friend. Those were reasons enough to build tension and were utilized. Speaking of issues, why didn’t we learn what exactly happened with Lana and the older man? I hope that’s fleshed out in the sequel.
Don’t let my expectations keep you from reading this book. DEEP really takes its name seriously. We’re not just in deep space or training at the DEEP facility. We’re getting deep into emotional (and possible physical) trauma and healing, trust, and of course love.
I have read many erotica, few of them BDSM because I never got into that style. This book was interesting though. Catch was the catch for me. He was so vulnerable. I wanted more of his story actually. This is the fifth book I've read from this author and she definitely has a way of writing complex and intriguing men. I honestly don't know why spanking and pain is a thing. I grew up getting a sweet cut ass for crap I did so the idea of that being pleasurable is a foreign concept for me. I understand a little rough play but to each his/her own. We are in outer space and all the rules a being broken behind closed doors or without care. Love it. Makes for a titillating story. Lana was a confused individual. She needed time to figure herself out. After a certain point I wouldn't have pursued the relationship or whatever you want to call it. There is a point at which i think a person has no self respect when they are into S & M. The things you allow a person to do and what you do to them goes way beyond loving intimacy for me. It goes back to me not fully understanding what the real draw to this lifestyle is actually. Be that as it may I was damn hooked on wanting to finish this book. I wanted Lana to truly develop some backbone and when she did it was splendid. Peanut effing butter! Catch needed to get his shit together and start respecting that there are limits and if you are in something with someone before you make decisions you need to consult them about it first. Adam was annoying as ever but in a good way. If you want a book to turn into a movie this is it. Not the filth that is 50 shades. Jaine Diamond is a much superior writer and her language use does not leave you cringing.
This just isn’t a scenario that I had interest in. When I read military romance I had something else in mind based on the authors other works.
Just because it didn’t do it for me, doesn’t mean it won’t for other readers though! I’m not into the whole space thing and I struggled with it due to that.
Erm... space trainee Lana and space trainer Catch. Here we go. I really am torn with this book. On the one hand I want to say it wasn't my cup of tea. On the other, I can't wait to read the next book. I can't work it out.
What I didn't like.
Sigh... you know, sometimes the whole 'I'm in charge, no, actually I want you to be in charge' thing just gets on my tits. I mean, guys, just decide and move on. I didn't get Catch. Here he is, member of some kinky group where anything goes, but he can't bear to fess up that he wants to be bossed around. What on earth is so shameful about his fantasy? I didn't get it. Just tell the girl what you're into and move on.
I got a little bored of the lets work out our BDSM thang really. Which is why I say it's not my cup of tea. Maybe it's just not my kink.
I don't really get why kneeling in a corner on a cushion for hours waiting for your master is sexy. It's like standing in a queue for ages. It's just boring. Plus the whole humiliation thing is just not me. Catch spent forever pushing limits which just annoyed me. Plus he blatantly disregarded Lana's two – yes only two – hard limits. I mean they were pretty clear. I always thought with this BDSM stuff that safe words and hard limits should be respected; that it's all about mutual trust, but what do I know? Anyway, it pissed me off.
I thought Lana was both independent and strong-willed, but also sometimes weak and stupid. I didn't want her to just do whatever Catch said. Be kickass girl! I know that's the story, but he pissed me off.
I also felt that the storyline was slightly too focused on all the BDSM and not enough on the world building. Here they were on this cool space station but apart from hearing about their training you get little else about what goes on out in space. Do they get visitors? Are their other species out there? What do they do out in the DEEP?
We spend more time focusing on the inner turmoil of the characters. They have a lot of baggage. It dragged me down a bit. He's sad, she's sad... it's just SAD! I got a bit jealous of her brother and his good time girl in the end, wishing I could just hear about their funtimes.
I felt like these sad issues never fully resolved themselves. What did happen in Catch's last relationship? What happened with Lana's older man? Why does she hate her parents? Who is the creepy massage lady? When do we get answers to this stuff?
I also didn't realise it would have a cliff hanger ending... sigh. I just like a complete story. I feel bereft not to have a real ending. Nothing to keep me warm at night.
Will I read the second? Yes, probably. I love Jaine's rockstar series so I am invested in this series, but I bloody HATE cliffhangers and SAD STUFF and NO ONE is making me kneel on a bloody cushion whilst they go eat dinner and go to the gym.
What did I just read?!! I was so confused at first, because I've never read a book that took place in space!! I was thinking "ship" like in the water, not "ship" like spaceship!! I re-read the beginning more than once to make sure I understood! LOL A very different beginning of a book that quickly turned SCORCHING!!!
Lana is a cadet at the beginning of her DEEP training. Her brother "First" aka Adam, is also on the same ship, outranking her, of course. This is the first time they've been together in a while and she's looking forward to spending time with him. She gets in trouble as soon as she hits the ship and her CO "Catch" assures her, her brother won't find out. You are going to love the trouble that she gets in!! Catch is her brother's best friend...hmm. She's afraid/excited about the rumors that she's heard happens on this ship (lots of sex, orgies, hazing, booze) This is going to be good!!
Catch goes to talk to her where she's being held after she got in trouble. She's handcuffed with her hands above her head onto a hook. Catch is intrigued by the look in her eyes at being handcuffed. First said she's nerdy...that's not the vibes Catch is getting from her. Catch has made stupid mistakes before, will he repeat them with Lana? Her brother is his best friend and First asked him to keep the other sharks on the ship away from her...but is the biggest shark after her going to be Catch?
This book definitely has the correct title!! It was fast paced, DARK, DEEP, sexy, sexually frustrating and funny! I loved everything about this very unusual scenario storyline!!
An incredibly hot, steamy book that has a strong romantic underlying. At first the attraction between Lana and Catch seems entirely physical, however very quickly it is revealed that they are both attracted to each other on an emotional level. By the end of the book I was screaming at both Lana and Catch wanting…needing them to finally admit how they feel about one another. I am not usually a fan of science fiction books, however this one contained very little science fiction in my opinion. Other than the fact that the story took place on a large space station with the goal of going into space on a mission there is little other science fiction involved. This book contains light BDSM and scenes involving sex toys. Heather Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More Official Review @ Coffee Time Romance & More
I am a BIG fan of Jaine's other series 'Dirty' so have finally gotten round to reading Deep which was her debut book I think. At first it took me a few chapters to get into it becuase its set in space which I would not go for however it is more milatary than space space. Very quickly I loved the main characters and loved the HOT chemistry between Lana and Catch. I ended up reading this very quickly so I can get on and read the second book.
Give it a chance and don't let the fact it's set in space put you off as there is a compellng and very engaging story to read.
I don't know how to think of this book. It wasn't exactly what I expected. The space setting kinda threw me off for a second. The characters were a little less fleshed out than Jaine's other series that I also recently read. I'll probably read the next one but I disliked a lot more characters than I liked.
This one is a slow build up of intensity so you really feel it when things crack. By the end the entire relationship was so undefined and fluid and messy, just like things get with real people. I do wish I knew it was a cliffhanger though.. on the upside, there is no wait for Bk 2. So off I go!
This is a difficult one for me to review because essentially I just don't understand this type of Kink. I found myself stuck on how to rate this this book because essentially I didn't really like it, but let me be very very clear. It is not the books fault. The book is very clear on what its target audience should be. The description and the cover state clearly what you are going to read...and if that isnt enough... it plainly tells you its Military Erotica. So why, if this isn't my thing... did I decide to read it? Because I've read all her other books and her fans said that it's a must read. Unfortunately in this one case I really should have known this wouldn't be my thing. This book has a bondage theme and so if you like 50Shades of grey you will love this, because in my opinion these characters are infinitely more likeable and the book 100% better written. I absolutely hated 50 shades. It's a harsh statement, I know, but I really did and I'm probably one of the few that got as far as 3/4 way through the last book and just stopped reading. I still don't know how it ends... and honestly, I really dont care... by then it was boring and repetitive and considering I had no affection towards the to main characters I really couldn't make me self care enough to read another word.
Now if my comments above upset you and you enjoy a mild Sci-fi setting, then this book is probably perfect for you The book is written by an Author that I like and as such is well written. The characters are well fleshed out and some scenes very emotionally charged. Considering this all takes place on a "training camp" The journey is more of an emotional one than physical one for the characters.
Unfortunately I just don't understand the fascination of a submissive/Dominant relationship and as such really couldn't get past that. But now that leaves me in a bit of a pickle because how do you review a book you dont like for personal reasons? Because in the end I myself rely on reviews to help guide my book choices and really dislike reviewers that poorly rate a book for simply not being their type of book. Saying a book is bad, simply because you didn't enjoy it is wrong. Especially if you delve into a book that clearly isn't your taste. So I'm breaking it up in categories and rating it that way.
So I tried to be as fair as possible 1. Packaging. The book is exactly what it advertises to be. The cover and description tells and shows you clearly what you are gonna get.
2. Writing. It's well written. I was to busy reading to pick up any real issues. I think there was maybe one typo?
3. Characters. The main character are likeable and I can see readers forming attachments to them. They are well described and you get a reall feel for who they are.
4.plot. simple straightforward plot. But not boring at all. You want to know what happens next.
5. Engaging. Yes so much so that I'm sitting here wondering if I should read the next one.... eventhough I KNOW it's likely not going to be my thing... I kind of want to know how it all ends
So this really wasn't my thing, and overall I really dont get why you would ever treat someone you care about the way these two do. I found a lot of the intimate scenes distasteful. I have to respect the fact the author intrigued me and got me curious enough to consider to read another book that is clearly all about a kink I really don't understand, simply on the strength of the characters emotional journey....
So here I am giving 4 stars to a book I didn't like.
Lastly If you read my review and decide this book isnt for you, please don't discount the Authors other work. I encourage you to look at her Rockstar Romance ( The Dirty series). Hot Romance without the kink, yet still plenty spicy!
I enjoyed the book when reading it and loved that this book was a dual POV, but it tended to be slow-paced at times. Lana was a kickbutt heroine who was determined to complete Deep training, even with all the distractions, especially coming from her Catch. She tried to stay away from Catch, but it was inevitable that they were going to be together, even if there was a fraternization policy in place that was actually nonexistent most of the time in the story. She handled certain things well, especially when she ended up in the brig. I felt for her character because of what she endured in her past and was trying to heal from, and I also felt for her when it came to her brother. Her brother told her she couldn’t do certain things, but he could do them—hypocrite, much.
When it came to the MMC Catch, he was the one who gave me whiplash. It was obvious he had issues and had just gotten out of a relationship that he was still trying to get over. He had some issues that he needed to work out, but it didn’t go into detail much on what happened to him, except when he mentioned the previous woman a few times. One thing I couldn’t handle was reading about his relations with OW when it was obvious he was attracted to Lana, but he was trying not to go all the way with her due to her brother and other reasons. The last straw for me, when it came to Catch, was when he didn’t take into account Lana’s feelings when she admitted what she truly wanted from him, and he did something I found unforgivable and without her consent. He was keeping her at arm’s length most of the time, making her confused about how he felt, and it drove me crazy.
This book does end in a cliffhanger and readers are left hanging on what is going to happen to the characters.
Will I read the next book? Yes, because I need to know what happens next to these two characters and if they will have a HEA. I’m hoping Catch makes up for what he did to Lana and I hope Lana makes him grovel for her because he definitely needs to do better by her.
Would I recommend this book? I may not have given this book a high rating, but other readers may enjoy it more than I did, especially readers who love Sci-Fi Erotic Romance.
If you aren’t into kink then this might not be the book for you. If you’re open minded and don’t “yuck somebody else’s yum” then I honestly can’t recommend this highly enough. It’s an epic read, it’s one of only a very few books that talks about a switch (in the kink sense) and just how much of a balancing act it is sometimes. Life isn’t black or white it’s much more complex and subtle all at the same time. This is very definitely nothing like 50 Shades of Grey, I know enough about that to know that it’s nothing like BDSM.
This book is primarily a love story with kink, at the same time the overlying plot line of intense military training for deep space exploration is thoroughly engaging too. Catch is a training officer he’s also Lana’s brother’s best friend. Lana is a military cadet and her CO and new training officer is Catch. It’s true what they say about forbidden fruit, only for these two they’re each craving for the other. Lana’s previously had a (very) bad experience with kink and Catch is also a kinkster who’s trying to bounce back from a bad kink experience of his own. They make the classic mistake of all book couples everywhere by not talking about it. I’m relieved there’s another book because I didn’t want it to stop on that ending!
I raged and plead 🥺; I smiled and sighed. When it came to the end, after a whole gambit of emotions, I was 🤬 cursing and threatening to throw my Kindle across the room. In some cases that a sign of a bad book, others it tells you it's a book that real grips the reader in the story.
Well I was sucked in by Catch and his devilishly, broken, aloof self. The enigma that is his character totally captured me and held me in thrall. Let me tell you that if the author hadn't put that there was more to there story, I might have had to camp out on her front lawn to "kindly" encourage a sequel - that's how much I dreaded the ending that it was looking like it was leading to (can't say more without ruining it, sorry not sorry).
Loved the hard-core environment it's set in, almost SEALS/NASA-like training blend, really made the story and environment that more believable. Can't wait for the next.
Initially, I disregarded this book, as I’m not a fan of military romances or BDSM for that matter. However, I loved Jaine Diamond’s Dirty Series, and coupled with DEEP’s high ratings, I gave in. I’m glad I did. A very slow burner but I ended up not being able to put this book down. I’m not quite sure how I feel about Catch and Lana. My emotions were all over the place. I loved Catch initially, but some of his actions were so despicable, I wanted to kill him. And yet, he was so flawed, I wanted to save him. Lana was deserving of so much more and I struggled with her submission. Was relieved when she finally grew a backbone but the last couple of chapters were heartbreaking. So glad I don’t have to wait to read the conclusion DEEPER but am fearful at the same time - some of the BDSM scenes are not for the faint hearted.
Jaine Diamond is one of my favourite authors and the author of my very favourite book. I couldn’t get on with this book though, I can’t stand Catch’s behaviour towards Lana, I just don’t get him and I don’t think he is explained properly, unless I really did miss something fundamental. Best friend Scarlet and brother Adam are good characters and help the book, in my opinion, but not enough. I liked Lana just enough, but I didn’t really get her either. And Catch and Lana’s “relationship”, if you can call it that, is just plain weird and confusing. I’m going to read book 2, Deeper, and hope for a little more perspective and understanding of the characters so the story as a whole makes more sense to me. But I’m sceptical, I’m afraid to say. Still love you though Jaine 😘.
I am so very happy I found this book. I was worried this was going to be another one of those cheesy, shallow books. It wasn’t! I loved absolutely everything about this book! I loved all the characters. Lana and Catch were great together! I found myself cheering for them. I wanted them to make it. I could literally feel Lana’s frustration at a certain situation throughout the book. I felt like I understood the motivation to their actions toward one another. I loved the way it all played out. This ends on a huge cliffhanger though! Be warned because just like me you’re gonna need to get the second book DEEPEER right away to continue the story. Both books are absolutely worth the read.
I feel like I should start by saying that Jaime Diamond’s Dirty series & Players series are some of my all-time favorite books. I’ve read them over & over again & bought the audio versions of the ones which are available, too. I absolutely LOVE them! I guess I hoped to feel the same connection to the characters in this book that I do in those. I didn’t. At all. I just wasn’t into the story and wasn’t particularly into the characters. I AM curious enough about Catch & Lana to read the next book—but just barely. Maybe if the whole BDSM & mind game thing was more interesting to me I’d have liked it more? But I just never really got into this book. 😕
This was a very interesting storyline that falls in the dark genre of erotica in a sci-fi realm. I confess to liking both. The characters were also very interesting....obsessed with each other and reluctantly falling in love. But Catch crosses a line with Lana and it alienated her. It was too late to repair the damage to their relationship and Alana, after passing a gruelling 12 week training camp, is shipped out to serve in deep space. Catch was her Trainer and Alana was his best friend’s sister both of which are off limits to Catch. He just can’t help himself.
Go deep in every way with this darker side of author Jaine Diamond. When military meets deep space, stars are not the only things that ignite in the pitch black of the universe. Meet Lana, younger sister of a well known pilot trying to make a name for herself in the deep. But when sparks fly between her and her trainer, Catch, her training quickly becomes about a different kind of world hidden in the shadows of the ship. Will she lose herself in the secret world of Station Six or fight for her right to travel into the DEEP? Read ahead to find out how Lana goes deeper than she ever has before.
I am an avid Jaine fan. I first discovered her when I read Dirty Like Me. I devoured the Dirty series and was desperate for more from her when i found this series. I read the first chapter or two, but couldn't get into it. I have heard amazing things about these books and decided to force myself to read at least Deep during a massive book hangover. I am so glad I did! It took me a few chapters, but I was eventually sucked in to everything Catch and Lana. Now I'm hooked and can't wait to read the sequel.
Okay so the blurb of this doesn't really explain what its about. This is a SPACE OPERA. Which I am totally into but is very much not what the description hints at. So I was very surprised by the setting. However it was a pleasant surprise. Because it also meant slightly more of a storyline than expected. The smut was okay, a bit more development would have been nice. Also a little less "will they won't they" , "we are so sad" and instead a bit more of the space station storyline would have made this book so much better.
An erotic contemporary romance between military trainee heroine and a military trainer hero. Themes found in this book include BDSM, Dom/Sub, sci-fi, military, family and friendship. This book is very sexy and has a cliffhanger.

This one dives deep into the submissiveness and domination of a relationship. It takes place in space, but don't discount this as any sort of science fiction. Lena and Cat h have that instant attraction I crave. And way more self discipline then I could ever have. Slow burn to the max. But also stupid hot. Had a hard time grasping where it was going... On to the second book it appears.
I’ve read all of jaines books so was really looking forward to this one. It took me so long to get into though if it had been my first of her books I would have given up, but I hung in there. The style of writing is different to the others and for me there was too much scene setting, but around about 20% into the book I warmed to it, and by the end I had to immediately get book 2. The relationship between the two main characters is very intense and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
