A biography of the the four boys from Liverpool who, after achieving phenomenal success as the Beatles, were pressured by international fame, and broke up in 1970.
I enjoyed every part of the book about how The Beatles formed, played shows, and what the members did after they broke up. I feel like the most exciting part happens at the beginning, because when they showed people their music, it was so different than any other music.
The title of the book is enough to tell you that it's going to be a great read. If you are a classic rock fan who NEEDS a non-fiction book this one is the way to go. It is an extremely informative book about one of history's greatest bands. The book tells about each one of the Beatles' stories from when they were born to when they died (if the particular Beatle died. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the Beatles or someone who wants to learn more about this well talked about band.
I agree the music was never the same, however I was disappointed with this book. It is a rehash of widely know information and even some of that is reported incorrectly (i.e. Klaus Voorman did not design the Rubber Soul cover, it was the Revolver cover he designed and the Monkees were not a British group as stated in the list of British artists the author gives plus other "facts" that were reported incorrectly).
I would not recommend this book to anyone as all the information contained in therein is readily available in other more reliable sources.
