As the gentle omega of his pack, Jesse has always felt content and in harmony with the peaceful surroundings of Sunset Valley—the soft, smooth sand dunes, monolithic purple mountains and cozy clusters of trees, all nestled under a canopy of indigo sky filled with endless sparkling stars.
But lately, Jesse feels as though there’s a piece of him that’s missing. Inside, he longs for a strong alpha to step into his world; one who can take him to new heights of pleasure—and plant his seed deep inside.
While on the hunt with his pack one dark evening, a strange encounter with a lone wolf leaves Jesse wondering if his deepest desires are about to be met. And when serendipity strikes again and the alpha and omega find themselves face to face a second time, a night of sheer ecstasy leaves him begging for Zayn’s seed.
But just when his dreams are about to come true, a blast from the past throws itself in the way of Jesse’s happy ending, threatening to shatter his entire future with Zayn.
Will Jesse get the life-long mate he’s always wanted? Or will he be left to raise Zayn’s baby alone, longing for a lost love?
This is a stand alone story with a HEA with no cliffhangers.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This books contains mature language and explicit content, including male breeding and knotting, and is intended for audiences over 18 years of age.
Dnf past 15%. Interesting storyline, but too hard to follow as it jumps through several characters' perspectives with no immediately identifiable separation. I would read three paragraphs before realizing it had switched to a different character's perspective and it's not just the two main characters either. When it started switching perspectives mid-paragraph it just became too frustrating to read.
It was an ok read. It was short and felt rushed. It did get confusing at times. It would work better as a longer story. No real chemistry between the characters..
I probably would go with four and a half stars. This was a fun short story. There wasn't a great deal of detail but enough to give you a fairly clear idea of the main characters. Several weeks or months were compacted into a small amount of space by leaving out any extra information. This made for a very concise story. There were a few spelling and other minor editing errors but the pacing was great, if anything it was almost too fast. This was a short story that I could see the author being able to easily turn into a novella or full length book. There were things mentioned in passing that could be used to create suspense and to flesh out the story and characters. I don't want to print any spoilers so I will just say that mpreg is dealt with differently than any other story I have read. I enjoy reading a story where the authorities the box on end. Mpreg is a minimal part of this story so even if you hate mpreg you may enjoy this book.
This was an unusual occurrence in a group of male wolf shifters and a female fox shifter with special talents. The main character met a newcomer in the town's bar. He discoverers later that his fated mate had dated a member of his omega running buddies. He had seen a few slight glimpses of the Alpha while running for food in animal form with them. A few days after the couple's 1st intimate encounter, the scorned and angry buddy had watched them and later confronts him in his home. At that time, while hunting, the Alpha gets a heads up from the fox that his mate needs him. Well,....1 plus 1 plus 1 - 1 = 2 plus 3. Confusion,....Uncertainty,....Jealousy, and then the culprits of abandonment, rejection, betrayal, and helplessness. Fences are mended and FINALLY,....ALL ENDS WELL! The author should extend the story. I enjoyed it, but too, too much was left unsaid and unfinished. Ta-TA!
I enjoyed reading this book it was good. I like the relationship between Zayn and Jesse. I also like the twists and turns in this book. What I didn't like about the book it was to short and it also was jumbled up with the story of what was happening. I still enjoyed the book anyway. I will recommend this book to everybody I know and to all my friends too.
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*
3- 3.5 stars
This book consisted of three short stories which get straight to the point. For the length of the stories you can't expect a lot of character development but I enjoyed them nevertheless. My favourite out of the three was probably Jessie and Zayn's story - I wish they were full length stories because I was definitely left wanting more.
This has got to have been one of the strangest books I've ever read. I'm still trying to process it so it makes sense. It was a big mess and not in a good way. Also only 22% of the book was actually this story. I did read the second short which was actually worse than the first. I then gave up and returned them to KU
Really enjoyed this book for the first half. Then it just got stupid and cheesy. The build up for the confrontation was so aggressive and then it was like sitting down to tea with your grandmother, so very disappointing.
