Rate this book
With the witch of Doon on the throne, Jamie believed dead, and Duncan and Mackenna trapped in Alloway, Veronica has no choice but to put her grief aside and prepare her remaining followers for the impending battle against the false queen and her forces. But while on a covert mission to steal a powerful elixir from the castle, Veronica discovers her true love may actually be alive, and fighting a battle of his own.

With the Brig o’ Doon destroyed and the portal fragmented, Doon’s forces are not only divided, but also isolated in different dimensions. With the help of a storyteller as ancient as the witch herself, Kenna and Duncan learn they must rebuild the bridge to have any chance of crossing back into Doon with their ragtag army. But when Mackenna insists on fighting as well, Duncan soon realizes the only way he can ensure her safety is to turn her into a cold-hearted killer.

For Vee, Jamie, Kenna, and Duncan, saving their kingdom while keeping their lives intact will take a miracle.

Forever Doon is the fourth and final book in the Doon series which made it hard to read because I don't want this adventure to be over. Our journey to Doon with Veronica, MacKenna, Jamie, and Duncan has been a wild ride and will read the series again and again for years to come. The writing is romantic and witty. There was much growth in all of the characters in this book alone. While Forever Doon was a little more depressing than the previous three installments, it was still enjoyable. In fact, I contribute a lot of it to it being the last of the series. This was a story I very much enjoyed and a must read for all fans of this series!

I really thought it would be a five stars book for me again especially because I liked the story more and more with the next book in the series. Maybe I had too many expectations about the last book but for me this book is my least favourite of the series and I was just waiting that something exciting or thrilling will finally happen but it just never came :/

I honestly can't fathom the fact that this series is over... these novels have impacted my life and changed me personally in so many ways, and I'm forever grateful to them for that.
.
This was a fantastic final book. I loved it, but it was definitely hard to read. The events that take place- the trials some of our beloved characters go through, and the overall feel of the book is somewhat depressing, but realistic. It felt different from the previous three novels in many ways, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The authors clearly knew what they were doing while writing this book!
As always, the writing was brilliant, witty, and beautiful. It's impossible to read these books without feeling as though you're there, in Doon, going through what these characters are going through.
Speaking of characters, even the new ones that were just introduced in this book latch onto your heart in such a way, that you dread seeing any harm come to them. I truly feel as though Vee, Jamie, Kenna, Duncan, Fiona, Fergus, the Rossetis (and the list goes on and on) are real.
Call me crazy, but I feel as though Doon is a real place and I was made for it. Yeah, okay, that does sound pretty crazy... maybe I've been reading too much, but there you have it. These books have resonated with me on such a deep level.
.
I don't know what else to say, except thank you. Thank you to Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon for writing these novels, and expanding my ever growing love for the country of Scotland. Thank you for creating these beautiful stories and beautifully flawed characters whom I will always cherish.
Doon will forever live on in our hearts!

After having the cliffhanger at the end to the third book I was super excited to get this one!! Forever Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon is a great ending to the series. Told in multiple perspectives you get an all encompassing view of things happening. It was really neat to be able to see the story knit together in an amazing book. There were some causalities, and that is sad, but realistic too. Great novel!!!

I received this book free from NetGalley for an honest review.

*I received this ARC at a Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon book signing at the PTBF16*

Finding where you belong is a key theme in Forever Doon, the fourth and final edition to the Doon series by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon. Like every other book in the Doon series, I finished this book in the middle of the night on the day I started it. One thing that kept this book from ever losing my interest was the use of all four POV's, instead of just Vee and Kenna. Once I got to the first Jamie chapter, I was hooked till the end.

I absolutely fell in love with this book. I'm going to go ahead and just list all of the things in this book that just made me swoon.

I was very impressed with the way that Carey and Lorie added so much adventure while also perfectly wrapping up the series. Some of my favorite parts to read were places like because they were all written so well with such great detail, but at the same time, not too much detail that it got boring. I also loved the introduction of so many new characters that were all finding their place in saving Doon throughout the story. While the book mainly focused on the four main characters (Vee, Kenna, Duncan and Jamie), Carey and Lorie didn't at all leave out any of the supporting characters such as Fergus, Fiona, and all of the new characters and let them find their place in the book. However, Carey and Lorie weren't afraid to keep the book in reality with plenty of deaths throughout the book. As well as keeping the story interesting, I absolutely loved how Carey and Lorie kept romance and action weaved together through all parts of the book. Finally, I was so content with the final 'six months later' part where . I was glad that Carey and Lorie weren't all 'It's over! We're all done now!' and gave one last 'where are they now'. And oh, the epilogue made me laugh so hard.

I would absolutely recommend this whole series to any YA Fiction readers. It is the perfect combination of action, romance, fantasy, and a little bit of comedy here and there with Kenna's loveable theater references and sarcasm. If you haven't read this series, you are crazy! It truly shows that everybody has a place where they belong and a purpose in this world. And Forever Doon is by far the best finale to any series in the history of YA. I can't wait to get the final version in August! Thank you so much Carey and Lorie for creating such a wonderful world to get lost in so easily. I will cherish Doon forever.

5 Stars!!!!!

AMAZING! Forever Doon was a spectacular ending to a wonderful series. This book really explored the complexities and emotional levels of the character's relationships, with everyone becoming stronger and happier at the end. I just loved it!

Vee, Mackenna, Jamie and Duncan are all back with the rest of the gang, and Forever Doon features all four POV's (!!!!! I know right, I was so excited for this). The emotional depth and growth between the characters was fantastic, particularly the acceptance and trust between Mackenna and Duncan. Vee and Jamie had their own issues, and there is this one scene - so beautiful with all the love and forgiveness I had tears in my eyes. There are several new characters, and to be honest, most of the secondary characters take a back seat (including Fiona, Fergus, the Rosetti family), but I didn't mind it, as this book was really driven by the main four leads.

The plot, just fantastic! The slow build, the reunions, the preparation 'montages' and then the final battle - all amazing. There was this one point at the end when I thought "It better not end here" and then it finished in the most wonderful manner possible. I don't think anyone will be disappointed by this finale.

The Doon series is the perfect mixture of romance, fantasy, magic and drama that I loved every moment. This series also addresses issues relating to relationships (platonic, family, romantic), faith, trust, strength, acceptance and forgiveness so well that it has become a staple favourite for me. I will certainly be re-reading the entire series once Forever Doon is officially released and if there were any more books in the series, I would definitely be reading them. (Plus, the covers are all gorgeous!)

Forever Doon, and the entire Doon series is a definite recommendation of mine to anyone who would like a bright, happy tale (with drama and amazing fight sequences) about two best friends finding home, romance, friends and happiness!

2,5-3 stars

The last book of this series in one word: disappointment. I thought this too would be a 5* book for me, however I can´t give that.

It was really boring and nothing really happened and there were so many character flaws, I couldn´t understand and they were just behaving like little kids and not like grown ups.
I waited and waited for something big to happen, but it just never came.
It was all solved way too easily and ... yeah I can´t give it more than 2,5 - 3 stars.

This is post originally on Vivian's Book Pavilion

I clenched my fist tighter, squinting at the horizon where I willed mountains to appear. Please, I pleaded silently. We need to get back to Vee and the others. We need to save Doon.

The last book in Doon series has come!!!! I don’t want the journey end!!! The book is so good!!! Lovely, magical, Doonly… I’m so lucky that I was at NY when it release!!! So I can read it as soon as possible!!! I immediately devoured it when I get hold on this book…and couldn’t let it down. And see the cover? This is my favorite so far!!!

What thought pop into me after reading the final? It’s a Harry Potter + Outlander + a bit magic and A LOT OF DOON! I definitely love how the plots go. As much as I love how all those protagonists develop their characters into a strong and bad-ass nowadays, I still love how Vee and Kenna grow differently. They grow stronger, and they realize that together makes them stronger as well. They never abandon each other, even the bridge separated them. You might question: so they didn’t grow throughout the entire progress? No! They did become better and wiser!!! I like how this series goes, it isn’t epic or high fantasy, but it’s definitely something. It’s like a cold stream inside the desert, giving us something fresh and clear. So unlike the recent trend of YA series (Not like I hate them, I LOVE THEM.) But somehow, it always feels so relaxing after reading this series. It’s not a reading burden, but a reading paradise, especially for the last book of the series. I was like an entirely different person after reading, everything is so clear and bright.

But I sincerely believe that the summery has exaggerated a little bit? Kenna isn’t going to become a cold-hearted murder…so don’t worry. (Yes, I know. There isn’t a hot-warming killer…but still…Kenna isn’t going to transform into a bad character.) But aside from that? Everything is perfect. It is a great thing to read somebody wise enough to support their mate. Yes, you—Jamie and Duncan. Unlike other male characters in other series (Ex: Tamlin?) they seem to handle the situation of their loved one going on battle field wiser. Jamie might have the plan of locking Veronica in the tower, becoming a damsel in distress…but eventually, he didn’t. Duncan might have hate the idea of training Mackenna…however, to protect her, he did. Guys…that’s what I call “respect.” You support each other!

Remember I said that reading this book give me a refreshing? The plots are enchanted! There’s always no need to worry something boring might happen in this series, because you’ll simply enjoy every moment you spend with Vee and Mackenna. It’s like jumping into a magic waterfall, you follow down the water, and when you come up on shore…you’re a new person. There are ups and downs during the journey, sadness, happiness, excitement, desperation… Forever Doon is definitely the next Harry Potter for all YA reader, it’s magical and brilliant. The battle of Doon is thrilling but not bloodly spread, the friendship and love between them reminds you the purest part of humanity. It’s simply perfect. So here I say again—if you’ve read the previous three books, make sure to grab the latest. If you haven’t, take it and read it. You’ll be amaze by how this series stand out itself so unlike others. It’s not a novel full of love and passion; it’s not a novel full of battles and trials. But it’s a well combination of both, you’re going to get love, friendship, battles and plans. Prepare yourselves—for the stream of desert and the flower of wild.

Forever Doon is the 4th and final book in the Doon series. Honestly I'm at a loss for words when it comes to writing this review. I'm not sure that I can completely convey my feelings for this book with words. Nevertheless I'll give it a go...

The book was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the way the series ended. (I just don't want to face the fact, that this beautiful, amazing series has come to an end!) On a side note Lorie did say "as of now" when asked if Forever Doon is the final book in the series. Which of course I'm hoping & praying this means there may be another book in the future!

Forever Doon is above all my favorite book in this series. It's dramatic, ferocious and my favorite...epically romantic!

I've come to love each & every character while traversing through the series. That being said, it was difficult at times watching Veronica, Jamie, Mackenna & Duncan go through some pretty tough situations. I felt as if I were there cheering them on, practically biting my nails and even at times closing my eyes and praying they would persevere!

This book is written in all four characters POV, which I loved! I felt that it brought me even closer to each character and made the story very well rounded.

With Forever Doon being the last book in the series things were wrapped up quite nicely. There is one tiny thing I'd have liked to have seen, I won't tell you what it was since it'd be a spoiler but you can always email me to talk about it once you've read it! I'm thinking it was Carey and Lorie's way of leaving a possibility of another book in the series...yep I'm still crossing my fingers on that one!

Also, I must mention...there are new and interesting characters in this installment that I just loved!

Overall I absolutely loved Forever Doon and honestly didn't want it to end. I would recommend this series to anyone who's read Outlander, is interested in time-travel or alternate dimensions or loves books with plenty of adventure & romance, oh and awesome BFFs!

3.5 / 5 Fangs

After the ending of the previous book in this series, I was really interested in seeing what was going to happen next. I thought the books got more and more exciting as the series went on, so I was really looking forward to seeing how the series was going to wrap up! This book wasn't my favorite book in the series, but it was still a fun book to read.

One of the issues I have had with this series is that the writing reads as preteen instead of teen. I was hoping that would maybe change as the series went on, but it didn't. The dialogue felt a quite immature at times, which would annoy me. I really think young teens would adore this writing style, because I know I definitely would have when I was younger! However, at my age now, I just find it a bit childish. Another issue I had with this book was that I was still not able to connect with McKenna. McKenna made unnecessary drama throughout the entire book, which was very annoying. She also made countless musical references that I never understood. Unfortunately, her chapters were always my least favorite to read.

All that being said, there were a lot of things I did enjoy in this book! I thought Vee's storyline in this book was very addictive and interesting. I blew through her chapters! I really connected to her as a character, and I admired her strength in this book. I also love her with Jamie. They are adorable together!

Another thing I enjoyed in this book was the action. I thought the action was intense! The authors were able to write the action scenes in a way that I actually felt like I was there in the moment. It was great!

Overall, I thought this was a fun book! There were things I didn't like, but I thought this a lovely way to wrap up this series. I would recommend this series to any preteen who loves fairytales, romance, friendship, and action!

Forever Doon is the fourth and final book in the Doon series and it’s my favorite. When I started this series, I was on the fence about it, but it ended up being very enjoyable. The authors’ writing has gotten stronger throughout the series and the characters develop and grow through each book. Mackenna and Duncan continue to be my favorite couple. They’re funny and adorable together. Veronica and Jamie overcome some major trials in this book that bumped them up on my likable list too.

I’m not usually a fan of zombies, but this series has them in spades. Zombies everywhere! I actually think it worked well for the story. There are a few violent and gory spots in this book that had me wrinkling my nose a bit. One instance added a lot of character building and a deeper level to Jamie, but I felt like he got over it rather quickly. I know he struggled, but I had a difficult time believing he could get over something so big in such a short time. Sorry for my vagueness, but I don’t want to spoil the book. If you’ve read it, you probably know what I’m talking about.

Overall, I like the way the series ended. The solution they come up with to defeat the witch is believable and I like the way everything goes down. It’s sad to see the series end, but now I can look forward to the next adventures from these two authors.

Content: Violence and light kissing.

"And it was enough."

Tell me it's not over. Please. I wish I could say that I agree with Kenna's words. But I can't. This will never be enough. I will always want more. But if I can't ever have more, then what I have been given was definitely enough.

I honestly don't know what else to say. This book was amazing. I loved every minute of it. It was everything that I wanted the ending to this series to be. And while I do want more, I honestly can't ask for more.

Thank you Carey and thank you Lorie. Thank you for showing me that even in the hardest of times, you can and should still dream. And while you dream that you should believe that no matter what if you put your mind to it that dream can come true. Also, thank you for Jamie and Duncan and Fergus. (I don't think that one needs an explanation. :P <3) Thank you. For everything.

If you haven't read these books yet, what are you waiting for? Cross the Bridge. You never know what could be waiting for you on the other side.

Oh my word, this gem was great! I absolutely adore the friendship between Vee and Kenna, and the love they have for their princes. ❤ The realism and relatability shown in the world of Doon is so amazing, considering it's a beautiful world we could only dream of. This will go down in my reviews as one of the best series' I have ever read!

This journey in the world of Doon has been so magical and amazing, and I've loved every second of it. Lorie and Carey's writing is so phenomenal and imaginative and I completely devoured every moment in this story. It's so bittersweet to bring this series to an end. But, as with every other fantastic series that latches onto our hearts, it always comes to a close. And Doon came to a close that keeps the world and life of the characters and kingdom living on in my heart.

So congrats to you Lorie and Carey on such a phenomenal series! It will be with me forever like a handprint on my heart... ;) ❤

An epic book to finish this epic series. I learned about this series off of a blog and the moment I finished the first book I had to read the next three books. I finished this entire series in a week. I was so excited and sad to read this book. I really liked how Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon finished this series off. Would I want another book, yes but I just love how they finished off this great series!

Newest review:
Guys, I serious NEED a fifth book. There are so many unanswered questions that I have.

There is less sexual content in this book then the other ones.

There is A LOT more violence and magic in this one. If you don't like violence just brace yourselves for some violence in this one.

Anyway I love this series and REALLY hope that there is a fifth book coming out at sometime......anytime!!

Unfortunately my interest in this series has dwindled more and more as this series has gone on, so I'm glad to have finished it. I loved the first 2 books and I love this world, but I just didn't really like the last 2 books and this was my least favourite unfortunately.

My oh my! I can't believe the Doon series has ended. True, it went on for four books, but still! This series is very awesome.
Well, I can't say that this whole series was awesome. To be honest, I have only read the first two books and then this one. But, I am going to be reading Shades of Doon in a matter of days. So, yeah, I have to say that reading the fourth book in the Doon without reading the third book was kind of confusing.
Either way, I made it through, prepared to give it a very good amount of stars.
Not to be biased or anything like that, but I loved Jamie and Veronica's story. True, I loved Jamie in general but that doesn't really matter. I still liked Duncan and Mackenna's story too.
So! I overall really enjoyed reading this series. To be perfectly truthful, I do not know that much about the actual Brig o' Doon story. Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon, though, did a wonderful job explaining everything.
Time to rate the cover. Hmm, let me think for a moment before I do. Aha! I have it! I would like to give Forever Doon's book cover three stars!
Now, for the moment you have all been waiting for...I would like to give this book four stars! It is a wonderful book--intriguing, romantic, and awesome, all at the same time!

If you've made it this far in the series, then there is something about this fairy tale like story and its quirky characters that sucks you in. This final installment of the series holds no shortage of that, though this time around the fairy tale is a bit darker. Compared to the last book, this one ups the tension as well as the danger, allowing the characters to finally show just how much they have grown through their struggles.

However, many parts of the story felt forced. Kenna and Vee suddenly started manipulating their calling to communicate with each other, something that previously wasn't a possibility, and the rings of Aontacht ended up as an ex machina, with Vee basically saying, "I don't know if the rings can do this, but lets try it... oh look, it worked!".

The addition of Jamie and Duncan's POVs was also something that I wasn't sure of in the beginning. While I never did warm to Duncan's POV, I did find that Jamie's added a lot to the story, mainly about God's grace and forgiveness. That, along with the allegory of the Destined having kingdom shaped holes in their hearts, made me appreciate this story over the last one. And while this series is not my absolute favorite, fans of this series will love this conclusion.

I have provided my honest opinion of this book after having received a free copy from the publisher.

Such an incredible ending to an amazing series

I know it took me almost two years to read this but it was so worth it.

The ending was so amazing and at times I did not think we were gonna get a happy ending but we did so life is great.

I kinda wish there were like a short novella featuring the weddings and maybe a baby or so but I will be fine with just my imagination.

This series may have just pushed it's way into my Top 10 series.

and with that I have finished the series, I have to say this one was the "best" of them, at least they had a purpose and the story was going somewhere
So this book is about the final battle between Doon and that darn witch who wouldn't just die already .. so many sacrifices have to be made and relationships has to be tested
I have to say I'm really disappointed in this series and I expected to enjoy it way more .. but anyhow I finished it and I will move on
