A man on a mission to discover the truth and a woman who wants to bury it… Greyson Maddox is looking at a much deserved early retirement. It’s probably why he’s determined to complete this last assignment and protect her, without any complications. Peyton Thomas has accounted for the dangerous obstacles to present themselves. All she has to do is wait for the triggering events to happen, before she puts her plans into action to overcome them. But when the threats arrive, neither one of them is prepared for the possible life changing events that follow… From having to hide out in a kink-inspired resort, to being kidnapped and taken to Mexico, they have no one but each other to rely on. And when they forge an explosive bond, it’s an eye-opening experience for the Dom who has long since scratched vanilla off his list of preferences, and an intimate journey for a vanilla woman who never imagined she’d come to crave the kind of different, a man like him has to offer. Their seamless connection is undeniable, even as it makes everything they have to face going forward, more difficult. Because only one of them knows, while the steadily escalating stakes are drawing them closer together, the inevitable truth to be uncovered will surely tear them apart. This is when they both learn the hard way that sometimes forgiveness is not enough…
Riley Murphy writes sexy, humorous, and emotional romance, happy ending guaranteed. An optimist, she believes life is awesome, people are complicated, but in a good way, and we should never stop learning. Riley currently has a whole mess of grandkids who are keeping her very busy! When Riley's not working she enjoys oil painting, designing furniture-who knew? And, traveling to see those grandbabies every chance she gets.
If Riley wasn't a writer, she'd be an international spy with top-level security so she could have a peek at Area 51 and decide for herself if those green guys are for real. Failing that she'd likely go with chicken sexer. Riley loves her characters and she hopes you do too. Greyson moved up from not my favorite person in the first two books to seriously yummy, hot Dom. (Neil's still my fav in this series). Peyton is really smart and her "gang" just make me laugh. That was one interesting dragonfly he had made for her. I would love to know more about his dad, Hawke.
If you haven't read the first two books, no matter how great Greyson is, you will be lost with what's going on with the Sanctuary and all the bad guys. Everything gets wrapped up, and we get to see all the peeps from the previous books. Nice ending to the series.
I'm giving not just 4 stars but 4.5, I have absolutely fallen for Greyson in this book way more then hearing from him with the previous ones. The way he takes care of Peyton is just swoon. I mean she's tough and totally has her life under control all on her own but seeing how he brings so hon more out of her is just ... yes! Loved seeing how she was so willing to stand her ground and yet at the same time let Greyson be the Dom he is and show her what she can discover about herself. I didn't want this story to end but with the final words I was left with satisfaction and a smile on my face. Great read and loved this entire series. This is my voluntary and unbiased review.
I recently listened to this book on Audible.com Here is my review:
"Another Hot Installment!!"
What did you love best about Persuaded? I absolutely love Riley Murphy's writing. Her beautiful descriptions grab your attention from beginning to end.
What other book might you compare Persuaded to and why? Any of Riley Murphy's books are amazing. One of my favorites is Reputable Surrender.
What about Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott ’s performance did you like? I have been listening to Kai and Wen's performances for a while now and have listened to just about every book they've done. They never disappoint. Every book is better than the last. But, I think they do BDSM the best. They have an amazing talent for storytelling and the emotion they portray is completely believable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry? Yes, it made me laugh out loud so many times.
Any additional comments? I have truly fallen in love with Riley Murphy's books. She is one of my go to authors and I never have to worry about being disappointed with anything she writes. She has me completely hooked on BDSM and not only does she make it smoking hot, but she writes it so utterly beautiful. I can't wait to see what else she has in store.
I loved Persuaded. It was a wonderful ending to a phenomenal romantic suspense series. I loved the first two books so much, especially the twin sisters, I didn’t think I’d like this one as much since the heroine is a new character. However, this one was just as good. In fact, it had the added perk of humor throughout, and it answered most of the questions raised in the first two books. My only complaint is that Charlie and Catherine weren’t in it and Jude and Neil were only in it briefly, but the new characters, Peyton and her “gang” of wonderful, quirky secondary characters, were so fun that I hated for this book to end. I will definitely read more by Riley Murphy.
I have yet to find narrators who compare to Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. Now that I’ve listened to their narration, it’s ruined me for most other narrators. Something I now notice in a lot of the samples I listen to is that many narrators over-enunciate, like they’re afraid of not being understood. This makes their narration sound unnatural and stilted. Kennicott and Ross act out their roles and speak naturally like the characters would in real life. It makes it so easy to suspend your disbelief and to enter the world of make believe, and isn’t that the reason we all read fiction?
This was the best series of books. I loved them all. I loved the story line......you will want to read really fast to find out what happens next, but then you don't want to because then the story will come take an end. Highly recommend. Can't tell you how often I caught myself laughing out loud with this one. LOVED IT
