When a Caster breaks Caster law and keeps a secret about a part of who they are so closely that they'd want to kill anyone who let it, that Caster's power is withheld within them by natural means until the day it gets out. Sam is having that problem and struggles with the thought of the repercussions every day of his life. Only two know, his best friends, Casey and Vanessa.
