1903 romance novel that begins with a shipwreck and a marriage for propriety's sake on an uncharted Pacific island. The plot moves to the English mansions of the rich and the excitement of the London theater scene.

Although the story was filled with melodrama and many coincidences, it was also fast-paced and alot of fun to read. Entertaining, if you don't take it to seriously.
