When werebeasts emerged from extinction to attack her family, Artemis Williams ran -- from the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, from her nightmares, and most of all from her destiny as a werewolf's mate.
Now with her mate critically wounded and her own future uncertain Artemis must find the courage to not only face her fears, but to destroy them. Otherwise they will consume everything she's ever cared about.
This is the final installment in the Moonfate Serial!
The final short instalment in the series (skipped from book 2 to this). I've read short books before and seriously enjoyed, but that was not the case here.
Honestly it was a little like what I imagine having a bite of sugar free cotton candy would be like - Meh, a one off, never to be tried again.
Though this entire series was far too fast-paced for my tastes, I thought that the ending was at least mildly satisfying. It gave a conclusive, though fairly confusing ending.
I'm still not entirely sure just how Artemis and Orion managed to tame all those rebel werebeasts or exactly what happened to them all at the end. Are Artemis and Orion like their Alphas now? Why does Artemis care so much about the werebeasts now, enough to want them to be educated with weremates and humans to better learn about the other?
Also, why was the book on Werebeasts and their Mates even necessary? All it ever told us we're stuff that we already knew or had JUST LEARNED, like solidifying that what the characters were saying was actually fact. It was very unnecessary, in my opinion. It just made my eyes glaze over, reading the same thing twice in a row.
I don't know how to feel about Orion doing a complete 180° from the dominating asshole that he was in the last three books, to this lovesick puppy who goes into anxiety whenever he isn't touching Artemis. The roles of Artemis and Orion seem to have completely flipped, and all this earlier assertions that Orion made about Artemis being nothing but an obedient mate after they were mated to each other seem to have gone right out the freaking window. On one hand, I'm glad that he didn't turn out to be a completely controlling bastard and actually has a sweet side hidden beneath Alpha exterior. On the other, I'm not sure that I find it entirely believable. It just makes me question which side of him is fake, since both sides were equally overdone. It doesn't seem very plausible to me that someone can be so dominating one day, and then completely reliant and dependent on someone else the next. Oh well, maybe I'm just being too picky. In any case, I'm sufficiently pleased by his change in attitude toward Artemis.
Then, there is Cal. I really hoped for more from her story after the little tidbit we learned about her mate, and I'm kind of hoping to see more about Cal in the future. That cat was starting to grow on me.
In all, I'm actually a bit disappointed to see the series end, and I'm happy with the endings given to Artemis and Orion, as well as Lawrence (who we finally managed to catch up with in this book). Not sure if I would recommend this series to anyone else, but for those of you who think you might want to give it a try, more power to you, and it's a very fast read for each of the four books. So happy reading!
This definitely went downhill in a hurry. The big reveal was embarrassingly obvious. But worst of all was Artemis. She went from someone who was afraid of were's because of her past and someone who knew she didn't stand a chance fighting them to someone who thought here werecall, that she knew nothing about, would fix everything. And Orion and Cal just went along with it. How does that make any sense? Started out very promising and just went flat.
This book starts with Orion being shot and the shooter is not who I thought it was! Artemis is kiddanaped and we find out why but I can't tell you lol they try to convince her they are helping and Orion is bad but Artemis isn't buying it. She also gets the real reason why her roommate was kidnapped and here he is but can she save him? Fantastic story! I loved the way Orion and Artemis has changed and grown together over the series. This has got to be one of the best series I have read and it's at the top of my list of favorites The twist and turns in this is awesome and my favorite part is I can't guess what will happen next! Action, mystery, drama and it's spicy hot you will not be disappointed. This story needs 10 stars 5 us just not enough! Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it.
Tying everything up to a conclusion In this well written conclusion to the series you have lots of action and adventure happening throughout the book. You have people who you think you know and finding out they're not who they say they are. Kidnapping, someone gets shot, one person call the wrong person thinking it for the right reason and a whole lot more. Artemis and Orion are falling for each other but things conspire to tear them apart. And then that mass of supernatural’s that are moving in a hoard for an unknown reason and the FBSI has to act before people get killed. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book that ties everything up together and gives you a HEA at the end.
This is the forth and final book in the Moonfate series, and you should really read all the books in order to keep the story straight. I loved how Orion and Artemis's story has unfolded in the series and really hope there will be more from them in the future. I would also love to see a spin off book about Lawrence in the future. This series grabbed me right at book one and I had to read them all!! Once I started any of these books I could not put them down until I was done which made them go way to fast for me, but I had to see them through to the end. I will gladly pick up more books from this author in the future!
We come to the end of Artemis and Orion's search for the truth of their mysterious mating.
Artemis finally learns about the mystery of her parents death and Orion's part in it, nothing could have prepared them for the discovery. How will this affect her relationship with Orion?
Lots of revelations and surprises await readers, especially if you have been following this fantastic series.
Ms. Frost has certainly kept readers on the edge of their seats with this story. I loved it.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Sylvia Frost. This is book 4 from the Moonfate Series by the author.
Artemis Williams is running and after Orion is shot she is not sure who she can trust now. They say her mate is working for the "other side" but is it true or are they trying to get inside her head. Can Artemis find the truth to put her world back together again.
Lots of action and betrayal involved here in this conclusion of the series. Loved the character of Artemis and how she deals with her pain and strength.
The whole book we hear werebeasts don't have human emotions, then suddenly Orion is in lurrrrrve. Wait, wait, wait. Wait. I know the author can do whatever she wants but contradicting all the fundamental points in her whole series? Nope. And what exactly was there to be scared about over being a werebeasts' mate? Not exactly seeing anything negative- meaning the girl is more batshit insane than I thought. Hard pass.
The conclusion to the story of Artemis and Orion. Highly suggested to read in order.
Artemis has the chance to save her friend. But only with the help of her mate Orion. The past will come back to haunt both of them. And some friends are now the enemy.
