Lexi Charles wasn't interested in starting a relationship. The scars from her past left her feeling like it would be impossible to ever love someone. It was a part of her life she had come to accept.
Years ago, she said she always wanted to marry a baseball player (one of the San Francisco Giants to be exact). Now, that was nothing more than a distant dream—something she knew could never become a reality.
Until the day she found herself in a parking lot talking to the Giants' all-star second baseman. Could he be the one to heal her wounds and make her dreams come true?

A quick afternoon escape read. It starts a little slow, but do not give up; the ending is worth the wait. We all have baggage, but how we learn and grow from these experiences is essential. Sometimes it just takes the correct person to bring out our best self. Lexi is taking the long slow road to better herself after a trauma. Can she recognize the events that let her know she is on the correct path? Will she ever be in a relationship again? Will Morgan see her as damaged?
Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Lexi couldn't believe it when the all-star second baseman of the New York Giants took an interest in her. They met at the gym where they both worked out. She knew little or nothing about baseball but that didn't hinder him at all. They spent hours talking about anything and everything, getting to know each other. Lexi had been raped three years ago when she was just eighteen leaving her anti-male and sure she would remain that way forever. Anyone who enjoys baseball would enjoy this story. St. John offers great books that are reasonably priced and very well written.
Language: G (0 swears, 0 "f"); Mature Content: PG13 (mention of rape and STDs); Violence: PG While written realistically, this book feels far from realistic. I suspended my belief for the main girl to have as much good fortune as she did. The conflict to overcome is this book is strictly her own inner conflicts regarding her experiences contributing to her self-esteem. This kind of conflict is easy to relate to, though it makes for a more idle story. Overall, a cute and quick HEA read.
Brooke has done it again with another great, enjoyable romance! The story pulls you in and captures your attention from the start with it's well written plot and fantastic characters. An enjoyable story with love, romance, and dreams for a bright future. You can't help but love the characters as you get to know them as you read the story. A perfect read for escaping every day life for a tiny bit.

Reading Lexi's story took me from tears to smiles. She didn't know her worth until she met her dream man. Lexi was not a believer when she said she would marry a Giant. She thought it was funny when she met one. Then she felt the attraction. God works in amazing ways!
This story was so good. I think I fell in love with Morgan. I loved all of the characters. I loved that there were horrific struggles that had to be worked through and how it all ended. I loved this couple and their super sweet romance!
This was a good story up to a point. I was enjoying it and then all of a sudden it felt like the author was in a hurry to finish it up, so she crammed everything in the last chapter and just sort of glossed over several important events. Very disappointing!!!!!
This book for me was a little slow in the beginning till about a third way through and finally got so interesting I hard a hard time putting it down. Interesting story line as usual. Very enjoyable.
The book is a good, and enjoyable sweet inspirational romance read. The story has a good story line, and well written read. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry.

This is a sweet, inspirational and fairly short inspirational romantic story. Lexi, has to overcome what happen to her. She is still struggle when she meets Morgan, a baseball player. This is a slow build story that has an even slower start but stick with it. The story is good and heartwarming.
This was a great book to curl up with, this is the first one I have read but I will be checking out the rest of this author's books. I was sucked right into this book and could not wait to see what happened next; I would definitely recommend it I did not want to stop reading.
Started way to slow main couple doesn’t even meet until 88 pages in. Almost gave up. I’ve read probably close to 15 Brooke St James books and have given them all higher ratings. This one just didn’t mesh with me. I will continue reading her books.
I really enjoyed this book as much as book 1 in this series. I am really looking forward to the next book and I think I may have found another favorite author. I couldn't put it down.
I Absolutely loved this one! It's all about letting go and moving on from experiencing something dreadful! Sweet love story! Starting over is possible!
