U.S. Marshal Stella Grayson and her partner Deke Creed have been tasked with finding a mole in their office. Their boss, Ty, doesn't know who he can trust so everything has to be done off the books. In the midst of their investigation, Stella is attacked and her boss killed. Things just went from bad to worse. The only people she knows she can trust is her boyfriend, Nate, and his team.
Durango Team member Nate Armstrong has just returned from a long mission and can't wait to see his girlfriend again. When he receives a call in the middle of the night informing him Stella has been attacked, he drops everything to race to her side. He doesn't know what's going on but he'll do everything in his power to figure it out.
When ballistics come back on the murder weapon and it's registered to her, she's placed under arrest and booked. Nate knows that Stella would never do the things she is being accused of doing. If they are going to figure out who is behind framing her, he will need not only the help of Durango but all of Fortress Security.
But the closer they get to figuring out who's behind the leak and the killings, the more danger arises. Will Stella and Nate be able to stop whoever is behind everything before it's too late? One things for sure, they won't go down without a fight. They are determined to get their HEA.
I'm not going to lie. I was hesitant to read this book. The synopsis and the first page let me know that this was going to be intense. I am loving this series but I don't want to get burnt out on reading them in one straight shot. But once I got going, I didn't want to put it down! I stayed up way too late and woke up way too early just to finish it. I'll definitely keep reading. There are so many characters that I want to see get their HEA! I can already tell you I'm going to be sad when this series ends!
I'm not sure if you can tell or not but I am still loving Ms. Deel's books! There are lots for me to catch up on!

Another Fantastic read by Rebecca Deel! This action-packed romantic suspense will keep you on edge until the end. I loved the mystery and suspense in this one. It kept me guessing who was really behind everything, while at the same time I got to hear Nate and Stella's story (have read about them a little in previous books). Can't wait to read more!

If you love action packed crime solving adventures, this is your book! Special Ops mission & Romance.
Nate one of the Durango unit who is deadly protector with Bomb specialty. He handsome, military creed and the Chef of the unit - that will make most fall for him in a heartbeat. Not just any woman could capture his heart it was Marshal Shelia Grayson is in depend at and proven asset on the team when needed. This is a story with so much action, black ail, kidnapped, witness protection, drug lords, murder twist and turn plot. A great story and builds on the relationship of the other team members.

Great read
Nate and Stella's story was a great read. It's full of action and you will not figure it out until then end. Lots of twists and turns. Great job Ms Deel!! You have proven that you don't have to have descriptive sexual scenes every ten pages. A little sex is good but if an author is good they don't have to totally rely on sex to sell a book as Rebecca Deel has shown.. This is a read that is well worth your time and money. Again great job

Good read!
I loved the storyline about Stella and Nate and his commitment to her. The only way this book could've been better would be for us to get a conclusion on the families of Stella and Nate but mainly Stella's family. I would've liked to see a wedding but I'll take an engagement . Ready for the next one !!!

Rebecca is all ways a good Read
What's not to like about a Rebecca Deel novel. A chance to escape from the real world. Into a life of murder, mystery and romance. Along with good food and nice people.

I found this one of the harder books to read in the series. Trying to tie the two together (otter creek and fortress) ended up being somewhat confusing as to why half the team was left at a cottage not really participating until the end.

Another terrific mystery solved!
I hope there will be an eighth book and more to this series! Each book contains a fascinating, suspenseful and intriguing tale. Book 7 is definitely no exception. On top of a truly engaging storyline, each one is very believable and told well. Despite it definitely dealing with adult subject matter, it can be picked up by an innocent ten-year-old child without the worry of them reading profanity, nor sexual content. I find it refreshing!!!
This story grabbed me with the first few words on page one! A character from the last two books is being beaten! Even though I knew who would be called, I also knew I was going to read an entirely fresh new story. I wasn't wrong. This tale was written with every bit of the intensity of Books 1 through 5, with a new and different tale to tell.
I hope Ms. Deel never grows tired of telling us about the Cahill family and it's many spreading and growing branches! As always another engrossing mystery filled with suspense and intrigue, with enough intensity to hold me from start to finish. I knew at the end of the book there would be a satisfying conclusion to the romance as well and even though I knew it was coming, it did not detract at all. Excellent book!

Excellent book. The relationship between hero and heroine was sincere and continual. Mostly a romance with action combination. Really enjoy this author. Another "favorite " to add to my list. Just terrific!

I love this series, and this book did not let me down! I will admit that the previous book (Alex and Ivy's) was my favorite, and it would take a lot to top that in my book! While this did not quite exceed my love for that couple, it was still an excellent read!
I really loved both Nate and Stella. Nate is a chef, and I think he is the first male who has a non-law enforcement.body guard training job. Unlike most of Deel's heroines, Stella is also in law enforcement and tough as nails. I loved that we got to briefly see Ivy again, and I would love to see even more of Ethan and Serena. This book had a gripping mystery, great characters, and a fabulous romance. My only complaint is that I am getting tired of everyone getting engaged almost instantly, but at least Stella and Nate did date for a while before this book started. Not sure who will be next...maybe Quinn since they kept talking about his date?

Great characters, suspense, clean romance
This is another entertaining book in this series with lots of suspense and action. It is Nate and Stella's story. The characters have strength, loyalty, and selflessness. The clean romance and the excitement make this a very enjoyable book.

Love this!
I really enjoyed the entire Otter Creek series, as well as the Fortress series. Great characters, mystery, and action. I love they both series are intertwined. You feel like you know the characters
