Tara may have spent years in an asylum, but that doesn’t make her crazy–just fearless.

Dropped in Moscow with a the group of enchanted Mayan descendants, seventeen-year-old Tara is forced to wait on the sideline while her best friend—the Stone Guardian— battles to reclaim a friend’s soul trapped in the underworld.

It sucks being ordinary when everyone else is superhuman…

A mortal girl with a tainted past, Tara is left to deal with an overwhelming sense of inadequacy. Her boyfriend, Peter, is a healer. Her best friend is The Guardian, and everyone else is a powerhouse of awesome strengths. Meanwhile, she struggles to leave her childhood of abuse in the past, and while Peter picks her up every time she falls, it becomes clear he deserves better.

When they opened Pandora’s Box, hell came pouring out…

When she’s given a chance to aid in the group’s mission, Tara is eager to pull her own weight, even if it means uncovering buried memories of being held prisoner by the underworld general. Now haunted with flashbacks of torture, Tara wanders from the safety of Peter’s arms into a city of depravity and corruption. And amidst all this evil is a young man with an agenda of his own, who leads her down a road that will either prove she is a hero at heart, or drag her into a world she’s always feared.

He wants revenge, she wants redemption. And in an underground ring of missing girls and bloody sacrifices, only the fearless can survive…

Theresa DaLayne is a north-south-east-western kind of girl with a quirky personality to match her nomad life. Born in California, she migrated to three different cities in Washington State, a tiny island in Alaska, North Carolina, and finally to the suburbs of Ohio where she currently lives with her husband, three kids, vegetarian cat, and her ungrateful fish.

Always on the lookout for a new story, Theresa is a shameless eavesdropper and will take anyone who provides inspiration and mold them into a character without a second thought. She enjoys writing both paranormal and contemporary stories, considering her mind wanders between worlds of fantasy while she’s forced to live in the real world, very much against her will.

Interlude - The Stone Legacy 2 - Theresa DaLayne - 5 Stars

This is the second installment to the series and interestingly it doesn't pick up where book 1 left off, this one concentrates on Tara's story and even though it's a fairly short read, this one drew me in and I couldn't put it down.

Now that Tara's memories have been unlocked, she is starting to remember the gruesome torture she endured when she was taken by Sarian, her nightmares are starting to consume her. This along with the fact Zanya is not yet home leaves her feeling so vulnerable. Can she hold it together and will she make the right choices ?

Whilst I really enjoyed book 1, this second one really stepped up to the mark. I was completely absorbed into the story and taken right into Tara's crazy world. A great series which I am thoroughly enjoying, I can't wait to read book 3. A big 5 stars from me !

This is second book of this series I've read by author Theresa Dalayne, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed both of these story's. Tara might of been raised in a asylum but that didn't make her crazy "NO" it doesn't. She popped in to Moscow with a group of descendants ,but she has to wait for her friends the Stone Guardian battles to claim a friends soul bank that's trapped in the underworld. When you don't have superpowers it's really sucks big time. Tara is so eager to help the group on a mission , but is she ready to uncover the buried memories about being helded as a prisoner in the underworld by the general. Tara is haunted by memories of horrible tortures.,and all at once Tara goes from the safety of Peter's arms and goes to the city of Depravity and Corruption. Will she be caught and returned to the underworld again? And will Tara be able to held it all together or can she make the right choices? The author has a way of woven a story that will grab you and hold in the pages from start to finish and the characters are story and will written and play off each other well.I could go on and tell you more but that would spoil the story for you I highly recommend that you read this great story , you won't be disappointed.

I started Interlude straight after I had finished Mayan Blood.. The way that Mayan Blood had finished I expected some explainations... WRONG!!! Lol Instead we were thrown into the world of Tara.

This instalment of the series is from Tara's POV, so we learn alot more about her past and what happened during her time with Sarian and the pain she had to endure, it soon becomes clear that her mind and body isnt coping with the trauma... Leading us to a very mysterious Malachi..

I must say.. our time with Malachi did not disapoint! #Hitmewiththefeels

In conclusion, I found this book had a totally different feel than Mayan blood, yet it works really well. I was enthralled from start to finish so much so I finished the book in one sitting! Can't wait to find out what Lights of Aurora (Stone Legacy #3) has instore for us!

This is the second book in the Stone Legacy Series and this book focuses on the character of Tara.

I really like Tara and completely understand how she feels so hopeless. Yet at the same time she is really suffering from the nightmares which is affecting everything about her. It's so hard for her to go to Peter with all of her weaknesses as she just feels like she is letting everyone down.

I really liked how Tara's true self came out in this book and her willingness to do what she could to protect Amy, and the others. She is truly a great person and I am happy that she could see the good in herself!

I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to the next one in the series!

This was such a great book! The second book in this series follows Tara, and we get to things from her perspective. We see her struggle with her past and come to terms with things in her heart.

What I liked
I really liked being able to see Tara contribute more to the cause. She has been feeling so useless because she doesn't have any powers like the rest of her friends, and I think that it was weighing on her. I do like Tara's character much better than the main character of the series, Zanya. Seeing things from Tara's point of view was refreshing.

I very much enjoyed seeing a different part of the story. In the first book you get to see the main issue involving Zanya and her friends, and in this book you get a loot at offshoots of the story. It really brings things together with a better understanding of what is going on. It provides more about the bigger picture of what they are facing.

In this book we get to see Tara's decline, and I think that is is significant to the story. We see how she struggles with her nightmares, her past, and her hope for a relationship with Peter. Her character development is really expanded and goes so much deeper than the first book. Tara becomes so much more complex in this book and it shines a light on the kind of person she really is. It's enlightening and beautiful.

What I didn't like
While I liked seeing things from Tara's point of view, I couldn't help but wonder what was going on with Zanya and Arwan. I think that the book would have been much better if it had been written from both sides of the story including both Tara's journey and also Zanya's journey.

The book was quite short. It felt more like a novella to me. While it didn't make the story lack at all, it didn't feel right. I prefer reading longer works. I think that if the story had included both sides of the story as I pointed out above, it would have been best.

Would I Recommend It
Yes. Reading this book is essential to the story being told by the series. It delves in even deeper and gives us a bigger glance at what the main characters are really up against. Tara's character evolves so much in this and it is beautiful to read.

You just know how to get story going where it set's you're heart on fire with need to finish the book.
Tara may have spent many years in an asylum, but that doesn't make her crazy -just fearless.
I had to go get interlude by kindle unlimited because I didn't expect explanations to be So Wrong.
Instead we are thrown into the world of Tara the best mate of the guardian.
We learn a lot more about Tara her time with sarian and her past in more detail.
Wow Theresa i was amazed with the first book now I'm God smacked. It was mind blowing
Whilst the guardian battles the underworld,
Tara hates being the ordinary, when everyone else is superhuman.
A mortal girl with horrid past, Tara is left to deal with overwhelming sense of feeling inadequacy.
Peter her boyfriend being the healer.
She struggles to leave her childhood abuse in her past.
When they opened my Pandora box my hell come pouring out...
When Tara was given the chance to help the group's mission she was very eager but didn't truly mean uncovering buried memories of being held prisoner to the underworld general.
No they haunt her with flash back's of his torture.
I don't want to give to much away it's amazing series ultimate book to the series.

- SERIES REVIEW OF BOOKS 1-3: 5 STARS OVERALL -
Have you ever come across a book or series where there's so much to say and yet, you can't express your feelings?? That's me right now with Mayan Blood, Interlude, and Lights of Aurora by Theresa DaLayne. These books are FANTASTIC, but they are ones where you HAVE to read to understand just how epic they are. There's magic, action, romance, and tons of page-turning scenes where I felt I could not get enough of these characters.

Theresa DaLayne knows how to write books that will hook readers from the very beginning. Her writing is smooth and flows effortlessly. I had no problem whatsoever following the plot lines from book to book. Her character development was top-notch! You grow alongside the characters as they face their different, action-packed journeys. Mayan Blood was a phenomenal start to the series and the books only got better and better. While the series starts off in the YA age group, it certainly doesn't stay there, so please don't let that stop you from checking out these books if you don't normally read YA. I have not had a chance to read book 4, Anarchy, but trust me when I say, I will be doing that SOON. Go one-click!!

*I got this eARC copy of Interlude (The Stone Legacy Series Book 2) in exchange for an honest review.*

This book focuses more on Tara, Peter, and Malachi. I hate Malachi because he has become so well and then into a cruel guy. Well, it turns out he was only pretending to be cruel so his plans could run smoothly. And in the end he was back to being a hero again

Tara is haunted by the memories from being tortured by Sarian, the evil underworld general. She’s afraid to admit that she isn’t strong enough to endure the dreams because she’s the only one without special abilities. Her health declining from lack of sleep and appetite, it’s only a matter of time before things get really bad. She deliberately sabotages her relationship to the only man she will ever love, delusional enough to think he deserves better. Meeting Malachi, she has the opportunity to help the group fight Sarian, but to do that she must become bait in a trafficking ring to ferret out the kingpin working for the power hungry general. Will she be strong enough to help her friends and the other women doomed to a horrible fate? Will her friends forgive her for running off to do this on her own? Can she trust her new acquaintance? I greatly enjoyed this installment of a YA Paranormal Romance. The action and suspense had me losing sleep, I just could not put it down. Please do yourself a favor and read this series. It’s so very unique and imaginative, the author has intrigued and captivated me. I can’t wait for the next in series!

Wow! My heart! I am so ecstatic that Tara got a story! Tara is the one in the group with no special abilities. She always feels like a liability. Interlude starts when Zanya and the others are on their mission to retrieve the stone from Sarian. Marzena opened a door in her mind so that they could locate Sarian but along with that have been some repercussions. She has her own demons to deal with from being abused as a child but this has opened the door for her to remember the torture she endured while she was being held by Sarian. She is doing her best to not be a burden and enjoy her time with Peter but she just keeps getting worse. And Peter! He is such a lover! All he wants is for Tara to love him back but she keeps questioning her mortality and pushes him away. She ventures out on her own to get some air but is approached by a drug dealer that has been trafficking girls. The worst part about it is that she almost ends up being a statistic. She forms an unlikely alliance with Malachi, whose mysteriousness is enough to make anyone question his motives and trustworthiness. The author makes Tara so easy to relate to. Tara is dealing with her own past and personal issues, constantly trying feel of some worth but all the same is lost. Most of us can relate with Tara in some way or another.

“All that awaited her was terror and death.”

“Her heart shattered, opening a deep wound in a place she didn’t know existed. A place that was tender and fragile. A tiny place left untainted with regret, now in ruins.”

Super excited that we are able to get a glance into what Tara is facing as she is a huge character for this story. It gives so much more background to the story. While reading Mayan Blood I wondered what happened with Tara and Peter as they were not able to help retrieve the stone from Sarian. Well, this is it! And it is so much more than I hoped for. The Interlude is not for the faint of heart, but sooooo worth it!

This book is set directly after book 1, but It's all about Tara.
In case you don't remember Tara is Zanya's BFF. After being taken and tortured by Sarain and letting Marzena dig into her memories to find him in book 1, she is now plagued by nightmares of that time.
She can't eat, she can't sleep, and she feels that she is not worthy of Peter. Not worthy of him for several reasons; her past, before the orphanage, her nightmares, she is a ordinary human in a group of people with special abilities, and because of being just ordinary her forever is a lot shorter than Peter's.
You can really see Tara's struggle here, she wants so bad to be better but refuses to ask for help. She also wants what's best for Peter even if it isn't her so she leaves.
I think her leaving to help her new friend is her trying to redeem herself in her own eyes, helping the good guys is just a plus.
There's a lot of scary stuff that happens to Tara but in the end I think she'd say it was worth it.
It's very good and I can't wait to find out how Zanya's mission is going in the next book.

This is the second book in the Stone Legacy Series and this book focuses on the character of Tara.

Tara still has nightmares from her time with Sarian and also from her past while she lived with her mother. While her best friend, Zanya, is The Guardian, Tara feels hopeless with no powers and tries to help in any way that she can. Unfortunately for Tara, she may end up in more trouble than she could have possibly dreamed of.

Fans of "Mayan Blood" will love this continuation to The Stone Legacy series!

In "Interlude" you are given Tara's backstory and get to know her better. She is much more than just Zanya's best friend. Tara is a strong character who has dealt with a lot. She believes that her love, Peter, deserves better than a mere mortal. This was a fantastic continuation and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is pretty short and I was able to finish it in a day, but that doesn't take away from the story one bit. If you are a fan of "Mayan Blood", you won't want to miss this one. And if you have yet to read "Mayan Blood", it is not to be missed. My review for it is also posted if you want to check it out. This entire series so far has been epic and I look forward to continuing it.

Interlude starts off where Mayan Blood ends, but we get a new perspective on what's happening by Tara, she's a little lost, unsure of herself and wishing that she could help her friends in some tangible way. This story hits my "feeling" center , in that Tara encompasses everything a lot of us feel and go through in the real world. We may not be trying to save the world, but we are trying to get people to see that we matter, that we have something to contribute. That's how Theresa DaLayne's character reads for me, and she has done a very good job in giving us the whole picture. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal stories, stories of the under dog getting their day, or goodness triumphing over evil. 4☆'s. I received a gifted copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I received a copy of Interlude in return for an honest review. While this is the second book in the Mayan Stone Legacy, it focused on Tara and her tortured memories/nightmares as well as her relationship with Peter. Theresa DaLayne has done an excellent job fleshing out Tara’s character and her “normalcy” amongst a group of Mayan descendants with a variety of superhuman powers. This story hooked me for the first page and kept my attention to the last. I’m looking forward to reading the third instalment in her Mayan Stone Legacy series.

Book 2 in this series takes a look via Tara's story. This writer does an amazing job of portraying Tara coming into her own self worth. This character is so young and insecure and just wants to have a purpose, the story of every emerging adult. Once again this amazing writer hooks you into storyline immediately which made this book just fly by! The journey is a great one and highly entertaining so add to your read list! A copy was given to me for an unbiased review.

I so enjoyed this second book of this series. I was glad to read about Tara and how she was able to help even if she did not have special powers like the others. This is full of action and suspense and so exciting that I could not put it down. Can't wait to see what is coming next in this series.
