Ghost Town

Rate this book
The first half of the novelette, “Ghost Town,” was inspired by a true experience which the author had in 1976 on a drive through Utah. Like Drew Harris, the protagonist in this novelette, the author had always pooh-poohed all things supernatural, but that strange experience in a very real ghost town has haunted him ever since.
When he sat down to write about it, he had no story in mind beyond recording his own experience. “The rest of it seemed to write itself,” confides the author, “as if guided by something beyond my comprehension.”
Whether you believe in ghosts or reincarnation or resurrection or eschatology or not, the adventure of a writer and a youngster in a contemporary ghost town should find you occasionally laughing, occasionally fascinated and then holding your breath over events that should surprise you as they surprised the author when he was writing.
