Temptations.
Being a star has it’s privileges.
Sex

Drugs

Alcohol

How can a man ignore what’s literally laid before him?

In the past I’ve overindulged, but those dragons are slayed now.
Time to concentrate on the one pleasure that didn’t bite me in the ass. Women.
I come offering my body. Heart and mind aren’t part of the deal.

But what’s this?
Young Esme, working Wardrobe, has caught my attention. And not just because when she measured my inseam her lips were pressed shut. Her shyness was kinda adorable. But it was something more.
I don’t think she’s known many pleasures…
I sense something dark in her past. Right behind those beautiful eyes lies a sadness…

Why is it I can’t stop looking at them?

What a roller coaster of emotions! Wild in Paradise focuses on Finn Kennedy, who we met in Leslie Pike's first book, The Trouble With Eden. Although this is the second book in her Paradise series, it can be read as a stand alone.

I don't want to give away too much, but I loved the journey that each of the characters took in this book. Yes, it's a love story, but it's also a story about taking control of your life. Finn has a second chance at his career, but will he be able to resist the temptations and demons of his past? Esme is running from an abusive marriage and trying to rebuild her life. Paul is reevaluating his calling in life and trying to determine if that path is still the one he wants to travel. Everyone is at a crossroads in their life, and I couldn't wait to see how it all played out.

Wild In Paradise certainly lived up to it's title with the sexy times (climb the ladder anyone?) I also loved reconnecting with many of the characters from The Trouble With Eden, especially Bliss and Steven. Overall, this was an entertaining and sexy story that dealt with some heavier real life issues.

I loved Leslie Pike’s debut novel, The Trouble with Eden, but her 2nd book, Wild In Paradise, sealed the deal--she’s on my auto-buy list!

Why? Her characters, their stories, the emotion and drama, the laugh-out-loud moments…oh, and f*ck-hot sex delivered with sophistication and style. Layered over all that, the author brings an authentic, Hollywood insider’s view to life on a movie set, and it makes her novels stand out.

My fascination with flawed, work-in-progress film actor Finn Kennedy began in The Trouble with Eden, where he appeared as a secondary character, but you don’t need to have that backstory under your belt to dive into Wild In Paradise. Finn is a sexy, funny, entertaining bundle of naughtiness. His swagger covers personal issues that already derailed his life once, but his edge—his complexity—only made me love him more. When sweet, damaged Esme comes his way, I couldn’t wait to see what happened. These two were either going to save each other or ruin each other…maybe a little of both. I couldn’t resist.

And speaking of irresistible, meet Finn’s childhood friend Paul--prison priest on hiatus from his vows, serving as a consultant on the movie Finn’s filming. When sexually adventurous starlet BB comes his way, (um, literally), no power in heaven or hell can stop their chemistry from exploding. Praise God. Hallelujah. Amen.

I don’t know what Leslie Pike’s got in store for us next. All I can say is, write faster!!!

His Old friend coming to visit let's mention he's a Priest Yes that's right what transpires is fantastic . Finn starts to fall in to old habits and enter Esme she's running and struggling and these two find each other. Can they work it out Finn his struggles Esme her past catching up to her . Father Paul he's rethinking his life . This is a brilliant roller coaster of emotion . I didn't know what was coming next! This is a must read!

What can I say .. I want to be #Wildinparadise. Leslie has made set a great scene with this second book so many colorful and ( sometimes pierced characters LOL!) . So many men and women to get into . You have most everyone from book 1 on set in Utah . You have Finn and Finn's BFF , Paul who is a priest , BB the movie siren and Esme the wardrobe woman . So much going on with everyone and each other . Leslie ties it all up in this second installment of The Paradise Series . You need to read this so you can be #PleasuredbyPaul and #ClimbFinn'sladder

"In fact, you're one of the strongest people I've ever known... You're my beautiful warrior."

Oh, Finn how I love you. You were far from perfect but dammit I love you hard!

Where to start? I'm so afraid of giving too much away!

There are many important characters to this story, the main ones are Finn and Esme and I just loved these two. Esme, wow. She is really an amazing character. Escaping from an abusive marriage she ends up on a movie set working as a wardrobe assistant. Considering what has brought her to this point you will think you have her pegged but she'll definitely surprise you. She is a fighter through and through, she fights for herself, for her life back. She really grows throughout the book. She really is taking her life back and I love how she even stands up to Finn especially with his irresistible Irish charm!

Finn, ah I love that man so much. His care free attitude is hard not to smile at, it's contagious. Not to mention he is freaking hot! Things aren't always so care free and easy with Finn though, he's back on track with his career but his demons come back out to play when there's temptations and he needs to decide what he wants and fight for it. I also loved seeing the different relationships he has with the other characters. I really was in awe at how he was with Esme and even when it wasn't perfect between them he still made my heart melt completely.

"Esme?"
"Yes?"
"I know I made a vow, but you look so delicious right now darlin', I could eat you. Just lay you down and eat you.
"And you look so delicious that I'd let you."

Father Paul, Finn's friend also plays a big part in this story. Like Esme he is also taking control of his life again, or starting to live, depends on how you look at it. I really loved getting to know his character. When I started I couldn't imagine how his character was going to be but he fit perfectly into the story.

There's a lot to this story but there's no doubt that each character goes on their own journey but also in a way, they go on it together too. I loved where this book was set and just really loved the whole aspect of it, the movie set and being in that world for a while. It's an easy book to love and get lost in. I'm not sure if there's more from any of the characters but I definitely hope so!

This book is the second in the Paradise series, yet it can be read as a standalone.

Finn Kennedy has returned to acting, and he’s excited after his debut film did amazingly well. He’s ready to take on the world and the women falling at his feet.

Esme Scott is running away from a husband who’s abused her far too many times. Finally on her own, she’s unsure how to handle this new aspect of her life, yet she’s determined to make it and never depend on anyone again. Fate brings her to a movie set, where her skills at sowing land her the Wardrobe assistant job.

Like everyone else, Esme is mesmerized by Finn. His good looks attract her, yet she’s young and somewhat inexperienced. Finn is also attracted to her and at first doesn’t know what to make of the shy newbie.

Their relationship starts off slow, with a few stolen glances and conversations, but once they go on their first date, it’s guns blazing. They are good together and Finn takes such care of her. I love how he is with her. Esme is so sweet yet Finn brings out a different woman, strong and passionate.

The characters are well developed and we get to see past favorites, like Steven and Bliss. I was excited to read about them again; Steven with his possessive streak and Bliss with her helpful nature. We meet new characters and one in particular will be very important in this story, Father Paul Cruz. A friend of Finn’s, Father Cruz will be assisting in the new film and his life will be forever changed as he’s introduced to new and unexpected experiences. He is one character I really enjoyed.

The story flows at a perfect pace and will keep you entertained with both the funny and sexy scenes. The incredible writing brings the characters to life, making you feel like you know them and you start to care about them.

Another great read by Leslie Pike.

Favorite Quotes:

“I became aware of the lesser man I had become. Conscience is the most effective buzz kill.”

“You mean all the times you hid your bits and bobs from me when we were kids, it was because it was too big? All this time I thought you had a teeny tiny gherkin.”

“He’s got such a happy look on his face. Like he’s plotting a bank heist and just found out the safe’s unlocked.”

“It’s the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. I half expect a spark of stardust to glimmer off his teeth.”

“I’m certain every woman he meets enflames, and then melts at the sight of him.

“Don’t be sad. The next chapter of our story’s going to be just as beautiful.”

My Review:

Wild in Paradise is packed with drama, there are many stories going on at once as every character seems to be traversing something major in their lives. Heavy themes are addressed and the suspense is rather taut, yet the humor is always there - cleverly laced into the story, and it works so well. I adore these characters, even with their cringe-worthy moments, they are all likable and lovable. Leslie Pike is a talent to watch – closely.

What a fantastic story!!! If you have not read Trouble With Eden yet then you need to.
There is so much that happens here in this story. But the important characters are Finn and Esme.
Movie sets seems to bring out a certain amount of adventure, sex, betrayal.....and I'm not talking about the movie!
This is a must read for sure!
I cannot say too much more for fear of giving it away.
Esme is new to this scene, as well as Paul.
Both are escaping a life they had that needs to change. They find solace in friends on a movie set where they really love to work and help.
Keep yourself ready for this sexy and adventurous Hollywood adventure!!

I am head over heals in love with Finn, Esme, Paul, B.B. and the rest of this film making family of fantastic characters. Leslie Pike has out done herself with this impeccably written, suspenseful, sexy complex web of new starts, overcoming a mountain of obstacles, healing and finding love when least expected.

Our beautiful, sweet Esme escapes a horrifically abusive dirt bag husband with the help of her Grandma and a lot of careful planning. She leaves to start over with a new job that takes her out of state working wardrobe on a movie set. It's the perfect opportunity to heal, find herself and start fresh. But can she truly shake her ex for good? Will he give up or hunt her down?

My ruggedly handsome, sexy Finn finds himself wickedly attracted to young innocent Esme. He has always been pretty cavalier sexually and could be the life of a party. Lived his celebrity-ness up to the fullest. Developing feelings for Esme has him putting his partying & drinking hooker ways in the past. He wants to be a better man that deserves Esme's trust and affection. Finn has never felt such fierce protectiveness before Esme and I fell a little more in love with every redeeming chapter.

Father Paul...sighs...is a strong, handsome friend of Finn. While on sabbatical from the church he signs on to consult on the movie. He's been dedicated to his faith his entire adult life. Now at 38 he finds himself questioning his future. Until he meets B.B. and Finn helps facilitate some *cough* new experiences. Let's just say, Paul quickly learns how to put his gargantuan, thundering endowment to use! B.B. is another actor on the film who is flirtatious and outgoing. Contrary to her party lifestyle, her and Paul bond quickly and have feelings for each other. What happens when Paul has to tell B.B. what he does for a living? Are their feelings strong enough? Will Paul go back to the church or start a new life?

Gah...I love it all! Their journies are emotional, suspenseful, sexy and sweet. From start to finish full of fantastic connections between these characters and a brilliant story that unfolds beautifully over the months of filming. All complete with their happily ever afters. Another exquisite read! On to book 3 I go!

Over a year ago, I read the first book in this series.....and I really enjoyed it. For some reason, I just never got around to reading the second book until now. And I wish I would have read it sooner as Wild in Paradise was absolutely wonderful!! It is super sexy (hello threesome!) and intense, but there were some funny moments sprinkled throughout. The story was extremely descriptive, and you could tell the author had knowledge of how film production worked. Every scene I could see playing out in my mind. I truly felt like I was right there with all the characters, living in this world. Finn, BB, Paul, and Esme were a lot of fun to read about, and I enjoyed getting more of Bliss & Steven as well.

And While I did enjoy the relationship between Finn & Esme, I was a little surprised though at how quickly Esme did get with Finn. Just seemed like after all she had been through, that she wouldn't be ready for anything serious that quickly. As for Paul & BB, those two were quite the pair. Such a whirlwind romance and I'm glad they were able to overcome the hiccup they faced.

*****possible spoiler below*****

There were quite a few serious topics dealt with in this story (addiction, abuse)....and I thought they were all dealt with very carefully. I really adored how all the cast and crew came together with tough love for Finn. Addiction can be tough to overcome, but with the love and support of those around you, it is possible to beat it. And Esme....my heart broke for what she went through. But she created such a bond with those on the set, not just with Finn, and they were all there to help her after the ordeal. Finn supported her so beautifully in her time of need, which allowed the love they found in Park City to continue to bloom.

This is definitely a wild ride!

So many stories within the covers of this book...and they’re all amazing! I laughed, I cried, I screamed out in frustration, I definitely got hot and bothered and my adrenaline was flowing as well. The characters are perfectly flawed in their own ways and it makes the story so enjoyable.

We met Finn in book 1 and once I really got to know him I really liked him. Paul, BB and Esme are new additions to the crew. This one had some scary moments and lots of fun, sexy moments. It has all the favorites from book 1 and the newbies fit right in. I laughed and was on the edge of my seat. Couldn't put it down!

OH my my ..what a story ...sooo many redeeming graces and soooo many lifesaving ..... life changing situations all around makes this book a complete and wholesome happy ever after ...not only for our main hero Finn who gracefully finds solace and redemption of his alcoholism problem, from his deep and unexpected love for Esme, but also to our redeemed man of the cloth, our beloved priest Paul.
This episode ends well for all in this touching heart wrenching story, of blood sweat and tears ..definitely a 5 star production ....could not stop turning the pages !!!!

Overall Stars: 4 STARS

There comes a time in one’s life when doors will open – the truest question will be whether or not you’ll open the door and use it

A movie set is a great place to test one’s endurance for temptations. They’re all there for the taking. A person can get away with their indulgences. For Finn Kennedy, Father Paul Cruz and Esme Scott, things are about to get very tempting. Finn Kennedy is flying high, after his hit comeback film. He’s slayed his personal dragons, and with his Irish good looks and penchant for play, he’s catnip to women. For Finn, there’s no reason to settle on one, when there are so many to be sampled. Father Paul Cruz is burned out from his years as the Catholic chaplain at San Quentin. He’s been a priest for all of his adult life, and he’s questioning that choice. Father Paul has never enjoyed the less cerebral pleasures of life. A sabbatical is what he needs. When best friend Finn is cast in a film about a Jesuit priest, he gets Father Paul hired on as a consultant. His world is about to be rocked. Esme Scott’s a young woman running from an abusive husband. She’s on her own for the first time, and trying to make her way. When she gets a job as the Wardrobe assistant on the film, she discovers just what she’s been missing, personally, professionally and sexually. And she finds out just how much it takes, to correct past mistakes. Beautiful Park City, Utah is the setting for Wild In Paradise, the second book in the Paradise Series. (Amazon Blurb)
Who can resist the allure of the comeback of one of the hottest movie stars in so long that women are simply drawn to him like magnets, unable to resist his looks and charms. While Finn looks for women to fill his bed each night, not bothering to get to know their names for the most part, while Esme is trying to leave from one bed, that of her abusive husband’s. As much as she starts her life anew and learns what it means to live rather than survive, Esme still worries her past will destroy or influence her present and future. Being part of a series, that is book 2 of the Paradise series, Leslie Pike has managed to keep book 1 alive by incorporating certain elements and characters that we’ve seen and met and placing them in the second book. I enjoyed the style of writing, the many aspects of life that the characters deal with, which readers find themselves having to live through day after day (substance abuse, addiction, abuse itself, doubt and self discovery) and the banters back and forth between Finn and Esme a welcome distraction: these aspects made this novel one that I’d recommend reading peacefully in front of a fire relaxing and looking forward to a new author to add to your library.

WOW! I don't know what else to say but WOW! I loved this story of Finn and Esme, and also with the other story of Paul and BB! I loved how Leslie was able to put two stories into one.
What can I say? It was so good!! I loved each character, the storyline, the plot twist (what a twist that was!), and just overall just everything.
Esme is running from her ex, and meets Finn working on a film, and it takes her some time to open up because of her previous relationship that she just ran from.
Will her ex find her? Will Finn be able to pull himself together in time to save her, and also to save himself?
Paul plays a big role in this book for Finn, and his own love story blooming in the book with BB.
I did find in some of Finns chapters he was thinking a lot, and I did find myself kinda skipping over some parts of the books as I wanted to get on with it.
I really did enjoy this book, and I'm already onto The Road to Paradise!

Some of my fave quotes from the book

1. The birds shit glitter her. - Finn talking about South Orange County LOL! I couldn't stop laughing at that!

2. I've got a special ladder. - Finn talking about his "Special Ladder", and boy does he have a special ladder!!

3. The entire place is heavy with wood. Beams, tables, beds, not to mention my dick. - Again Finn talking about himself and his fave appendage. LOL!

4. "I only want to kiss the pain away." - Finn being the sweet Finn we see throughout the book.

5. Curves the word, fuck's the verb. - When Esme and Finn FINALLY do the dirty!! He loves her curves!

6. My dick is sticking straight up like a bedazzled totem pole. - Again with Finn's special ladder! LOL!!!

7. I'm Cumlumbus. - I absolutely lost it with that saying!!!

8. "She loves them. I don't even have to sit on her face. I just squat." - Finn and Jack taking about his balls at the gym LOL!!!!

4.5 Star read. Romance, Hot Alpha, Strong female

Lord, I hope you have a better plan for me, because today this one seems pretty shitty.

Wild in Paradise is the second in the Paradise series by Leslie Pike.

Finn is returning to acting after his comeback film.
Esme is running away from her abusive husband.

Fate steps in and brings Esme to a movie set as a Wardrobe assistant. When Esme sees Finn sparks fly between them.

As things move forward for Esme and Finn you see how sweet and tender he is with her and how she starts to change into a strong woman putting her life back together.
Will Finn be able to stay away from temptations? Or Will he end up hurting Esme?

We also meet Father Paul, a friend of Finn’s that is consulting on the movie. Paul is also looking to change his life. While on the set he is introduced to new and unexpected things.

All of the characters added a great element to the book. Leslie’s writing really captures all of them so well. I have to say I think I’m in love with Finn, gotta love the accent and charm.

What do you say to a woman who’s just been through hell?

I have to say I was on pins and needles towards the end, a little ugly cry may have appeared slightly. This is the second book in the Paradise series however it can be read as a standalone.
The story flows at a great pace. Another great read by Leslie Pike.

Since I just discovered Ms. Pike recently and enjoyed her debut novel, I was excited to be able to continue reading her work right away.
Wild In Paradise loosely continues the story of the group we met in Trouble in Eden, but this time the focus is on Finn, his childhood friend Paul, and Esme (who is new to the group). The rest of the gang is still around, but this time in more secondary roles.
This is a well written, fun book. Romantic relationships play a key part in the story telling, but we also see people dealing with real life issues. We have a domestic abuse survivor, a relapsing/recovering addict, someone facing a cross roads, and the people who love and support them. This go around, Ms. Pike also gives us an element of suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat while you watch how it will play out.
I did have one *small* complaint with Wild in Paradise. Finn and Esme are supposed to be in a fledgling romantic relationship, but we really don't see a whole lot of them together. The way the story line plays out, it works, but that would have been the biggest change I would have made.
If you are just discovering Ms. Pike's work, you could easily start with this book as it is written as a stand alone. I would definitely recommend reading Trouble with Eden first though, the bulk of the characters in Wild in Paradise are introduced in that book and there is relevant back story that would add to the enjoyment here.

Finn. Paul. Esme. The characters in WILD IN PARADISE grabbed from the start and made me love them! There was so much in this book from Leslie Pike's Paradise Series! We get to catch up with characters from book 1, but this WiP is it's own story for sure!! Finn is ever the charmer, but he's also battling his demons in this one while at the same time I think truly finding his soul when he meets Esme. And Esme is just full of contradictions to me. We meet her running from an abusive relationship, but she's not a victim. She is eager to finally live life for her and all that entails; Finn shows her what it means to be romanced and treasured and helps her find out what it means to feel pleasure for the first time. Their story was wonderful! Then you have Paul, Finn's best friend, who is taking a sabbatical from the priesthood in order to find out where his life is taking him. Paul was the biggest surprise for me! He was shy and timid and open and a bit lost. When he meets BB though, everything changes and finally comes into focus for the first time. I loved his struggle and his coming into his own almost as much as I did his determination to help his friend battle his demons.

There wasn't anything about this story that I didn't like. Leslie has a way of writing that I enjoy so much! It's smart, funny and sexy as hell! It's a real grown-up romance!

Leslie Pike’s second novel Wild is Paradise is the continuation of the character’s story we previously met in Trouble with Eden only this time the focus is on Finn and his childhood friend Paul and a brand new character named Esme.

Once again Pike paints a very vivid picture of her story immersing you into her creation and giving the reader a clear, realistic characters. It is well written, funny and but also deals with very real issues from drugs, domestic abuse to real life changing decision moments. It was a surprise to find that even with the romance Pike was able to add in a touch of suspense that left me on pins and needles towards the end.

With all that said, Pike is well on her way to a wonderful series that really captures the true essence of life. Although you can read Wild in Paradise as a standalone, I would highly recommend you start from the beginning with The Trouble with Eden and enjoy Pike’s stories from the beginning.

I was given a copy for an honest review.

I fell in love with the first book's descriptions of beautiful lush beaches, not to mention the steamy romance story, that makes you want to draw a bath and just be taken away.

This one, still a wonderfully written romance. What stood out in this one was more was the characters. The characters from the first one were amazing and were also in Wild In Paradise. They all well rounded and deep and emotionally engaging. You just wanted to root for them, and love them, and fall in love with all of them. That with the added suspense and twist and turns, it was a great read. Love Love Loved it!

I love how Leslie Pike can write a book with steamy love scenes and not rest on a that, she writes an engaging, thought-provoking, page-turning love story.

This is most definitely a five-star (plus) read

This is the 2nd book by this author and let me say I LOVED it! Note: you don't need to read the first book to follow this one...however, I think you should because you will get the story in some of the supporting characters in this book.
Oh Finn! I knew after reading the first book in this series I would fall in love with him and now I really want to #climbthatladder! What I didn't expect was to love his BFF Paul. This story is very intriguing! There is drama, suspense, and of course...sex! I also loved and admired Esme. She took a difficult and unpleasant living situation, escaped it and made something of her self! All of the supporting characters added to the depth of the story line. I can't wait to see what Leslie writes next!!!

This series is so great!
you can read this one as a stand alone or after The Trouble with Eden. I love this film location setting. You get three different POVs in this one which is awesome. You get Finn(which you met in book one), then Paul's (who is Finn's childhood friend), and Esme. Esme is running from from abusive husband that's left so many scars on her. Paul is a priest that doesn't know if that's his calling anymore. Then there's Finn who thinks over his demons but they come to resurface. Will they destroy all he's worked for? This book was so exciting and there was something happening at every corner. What a great read. Thanks Leslie for another great book.

Leslie did an amazing job with writing book 2. This so Finn's story and even though you can read it as a stand alone it helps connect the characters from book one and this one a little better. I think it makes more sense that way. Again very strong characters and amazing writing. I liked book one, however this book really let me see what an amazing writer she is. There is dark content in this book and she really brings in the DV issue and how serious it can be.

Finn Kennedy is a sexy, funny, entertaining bundle of naughtiness. His life was derailed. His edge made me love him. When Esme comes his way they were either going to save each other or hurt each other.

Meet Finn’s childhood friend Paul. He's a priest, who's helping Finn on his movie. When sexually adventurous BB comes his way nothing or no-one will stop her from her goal.

I just couldn't put this book down.

Another well-written book by Leslie Pike! She has a way of just sucking you right into the setting. Oh and let’s not forget the sexy times in this book, smoking! I would have rated this a 5 because Leslie amazed me with her writing skilz ☺ but some of the story felt far-fetched for me, particularly the part with the Priest (but what do I know, I’m not a Priest nor catholic LOL).
