Organized accountant Zoey Allen likes her life neat and tidy. But it goes from managed to messy when a dead body ends up in her apartment on an ordinary Tuesday night. After uncovering a money-laundering scheme in a routine audit at her company, Zoey finds herself the target in a murderous plot that doesn’t quite add up. Good thing she has Mac—a handsome police officer—and the Page Turners book club to help her solve the case. Officer ‘Mac’ McCarthy came back to Pleasant Valley to get away from murder and corruption. The last thing he needs is to be tied up in a case of attempted murder with the beautiful blonde bookkeeper that he can’t get out of his mind. She’s looking for him to protect her, and that’s the one thing he doesn’t think he can do. Mac and Zoey find themselves in a dangerous adventure full of lies, betrayal, and murder that takes them from the underbelly of the legalized marijuana business to a secluded cabin in the mountains. As she finds herself falling in love, is she really falling into a trap? Is Mac the man she thinks he is? Zoey must learn to let go of her ordered life and risk it all because murder can be a crime of passion, and falling in love is about to get messy. The Page Turners prevail in this newest mystery with their amateur sleuthing and undercover missions and…as always…delicious desserts. Women of all ages will enjoy this tale of humorous, women's fiction, mixed with cozy mystery and romantic comedy in this small town love story.
Jennie Marts is a USA Today bestselling author of award-winning books filled with love, laughter, and always a happily ever after. She loves genre-mashups, and her books range from western romance to cozy mysteries but all have the charm and appeal of quirky small-town life. Living out her own happily ever after in the mountains of Colorado, she’s addicted to Diet Coke, adores Cheetos, and believes you can’t have too many books, shoes, or friends.
Tangled Up In Tuesday is book four in the Page Turners series by Jennie Marts. This is such a fun mystery series with just enough romance to squeeze my heart, along with these quirky characters that make up the Page Turners book club. This is Zoey and Mac’s book. You can read this as a stand alone but Mac has shown up in previous books as an officer of the Pleasant Valley Police Department who seems to have a soft spot for the Page Turners. And Zoey was introduced in the previous book. She is Edna’s grand daughter.
You’d never know that Zoey Allen’s mom was a true hippy that loved on a commune. Or the grand daughter of Edna who is a crazy, adventurous eighty something woman who has more energy than someone half her age. Zoey is an accountant. She believes in order, spread sheets and data. She lives her life in a planned out way, no surprises. But while working for the financial firm in Denver where she’d been for years, she began to notice some abnormalities. She soon discovered a money laundering scheme and was promptly fired. So she came to spend some time with her grandmother in the previous book. Now she’s back at her apartment in Denver trying to figure out what to do next when her life is turned upside down.
Mac McCarthy moved to Pleasant Valley from the Chicago PD. After a very bad experience, he craved the small town life with less danger. Little did he know that with the Page Turners around, danger seemed to find them and he was constantly being pulled in. He had met Zoey previously and had a crush on her. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. So, when Edna called him to come over because Zoey needed help, he didn’t hesitate.
When Zoey’s apartment was broken into when she was home in bed, and later a body was found in her living room, she knows she’s in trouble. With the help of Mac and the Page Turners, they begin to uncover something that might be much deeper than just a money laundering scheme. Someone wants to end Zoey’s life and is very determined. Mac is equally determined to keep her safe. Although past experiences convince him that he might be the wrong person for the job.
As Mac and Zoey run for their lives, they begin to fall for each other. Now they just have to survive long enough to see where it goes. Of course, the Page Turners are on the job, playing detective. Let me tell you that Edna gets them into some of the craziest situations yet, and maybe the most dangerous.
Again, this was a fun romp, but also maybe the most suspenseful of them all so far. These were some really bad guys they were dealing with. Above all, I am always so impressed with the way these women love and support each other. They are each so different but none of that matters to them. They are ready and willing whenever one of them is in need. The last book in the series is book five, What To Do About Wednesday, which is Piper’s book. But, because I read these out of order, I have already read it. So I am officially finished with the series. I loved every book and hope you’ll jump in and give these a try.
Tangled Up In Tuesday by Jennie Marts is the fourth book in her Page Turners series and was a very enjoyable read. I had read the first book in the series but missed the next two but this book can easily be read as a standalone. I never felt lost just intrigued as to what I had missed.
Zoey Allen is a very organized accountant who has now stepped way out of her comfort zone because she called for an audit at the financial advisory firm where she used to work. She's received threatening phone calls and then her apartment gets broken into. Officer Mac McCarthy steps in to help Zoey and protect her. Both of these characters were relatable and fully developed as the story progressed. The two of them work well together while trying to uncover this mystery.
I love all of the members of the Page Turnes book club. Each one of them bring so much to the story and move the story at a quick pace. Edna is so much fun to read about because she is a strong, nosy and determined to protect her granddaughter.
Humor, mystery, romance and action are all here to read and enjoy. Hopefully Jennie Marts will continue the series.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled Up in Tuesday by Jennie Marts is the 4th book in the Page Turners series, and my first book by this author. I really enjoyed this book and don't feel I missed out because I have not read the previous books in the series.
Zoey Allen is an accountant who like everything organized, neat and tidy. Zoey was fired from her job because she uncovered a money-laundering scheme during an audit, and is set to testify against her old boss. One night her ex co worker/friend shows up at her apartment, and he has been stabbed and tells her to run for her life, as she hears two men breaking into her apartment. Zoey has a lot to figure out before it is too late.
I really loved this book, it was fun, great characters, full of mystery, and romance. For me the romance was a little too much, but the intense encounters with the bad guys were great. I read this book in one sitting because I had to find out what happened. I am looking forward to reading the other three books in the series.
Funny, suspenseful and romantic. One of my favorite series. A must read!
Jennie Marts has done it again! This is the 4th book in the Page Turner's series and it was so entertaining! The characters all lend to the story and add their own antics that made me laugh throughout the book. Tangled Up In Tuesday has it all! Romance, suspense, murder and humor !
Zoey is an accountant that requires everything to be in it's place. A no nonsense woman that is on top of her job and keeping things in order. Until Zoey wakes up to her co-worker in her apartment to warn her of someone coming to hurt her. Zoey flees and discovers that a male was killed in her apartment that night. With the help of Mac a family friend and police officer she discovers that being an accountant can sometimes come with deadly consequences. Through it all will Mac finally succumb to his attraction to Zoey and accept her crazy family?
Great Series! This is a great series; this is the fourth book in the Page Turners series by Jennie Marts. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read one you will want to go back and read the other books in this series. Zoey Allen is an accountant and likes her life organized, neat and tidy. When a dead body ends up in her apartment her life turns very messy. She uncovers a money laundering scheme in her routine audit at her company. Mack is the handsome police officer who is working on the case. Zoey, Mac and the members of the Page Turners book club work together to solve the case. If you are looking for a great mystery then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
This was a charming little small town cozy mystery that was pretty entertaining. However, for me, there was a little too much romance, which is my fault, not the authors. It was labeled romance and I was too absorbed in the cover and missed that part. HA!
Nonetheless, after skipping those pages, I did find the story interesting and some of the characters pretty funny. Everyone needs a purse like Grandma. I think she has everything but the kitchen sink in there. She might even have that in there and it just wasn't mentioned. As I said, some of the characters were pretty funny to just down right quirky. I even got a few chuckles out of the story.
I'd like to thank the author and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review. It was definitely an entertaining read.
Fun cozy mystery! The fourth installment in the Page Turners series does not disappoint! The book club turn into women sleuths again and help Zoey and Mac solve a mystery and find their happily ever after. How fun to see Mac with his own story! I adore Edna and her crazy antics. The story is laugh out loud funny and kept me turning pages, a little sad when it ended. Can't wait for the next one!
I love Jennie Marts books. They are filled with relatable heroines and love interests, humor and are an enjoyable cozy series to read. I find myself laughing at lots of parts. I totally recommend this book (series).
Although I truly do love this series, and it pains me to do this, I have to give this installment of the Page Turners Mystery series a 2 star review. The love story was rushed to the point of offensiveness, and the dialogue between Zoey and Mac was embarrassing. The mystery itself... not such a mystery. The reader is beaten over the head with heavy-handed clues so often that the plot itself becomes an assault. Although I love a good escape read, nothing about criminal procedure is realistic in this book. Evidence is mishandled, police operate outside of their jurisdictions, and the FBI gets involved on the whim of a book club. This one wasn't my favorite. And they never choose a book not to read for their silly book club! What did I like about this book? Edna, as always. The dogs. The small town atmosphere. The silly dialogue. Of course I'll read the next book in the series, but that doesn't mean I liked this one.
Tangled Up In Tuesday is the fourth book in the Page Turners series by Jennie Marts. What can I say, the characters are funny, colorful, loving, trusting and forgiving. This book is amazing and has a lot of moving parts. Zoey is an accountant on the run, she is the main witness against the company she worked for. Mac is doing his best to keep her safe but he feels as though he let his last partner down and doesn't want Zoey to depend on him. When push comes to shove will Mac be able to keep Zoey safe? Throw in her amateur detective grandmother and the other book club ladies and you have moments of laugh out loud humor, the pursue of many surprises and curiosity that almost killed the cat. I loved this book, the characters are wonderful, they are willing to step in and help out regardless of what needs to be done. This is a must read.
Score another win for the Page Turners book club. This time we get the rest of the story of Zoey and the accounting discovery mentioned in the previous book. Full of mystery, new romance, and mayhem, this wacky group of characters does not disappoint as they work to solve the mystery and keep Zoey alive.
OMG! After just finishing reading about Edna in "Another Manic Monday" . I didn't know that I could be so engrossed in " Tangled Up In Tuesday ". I couldn't put this one down. You have "page turners " mastered, Jennie Marts!
Start with an accountant and wind up with murder and romance
Part 4 of the Page Turner series about a group of women who get involved in murder mysteries. A story that is involved and convoluted, and a fun read. This is an author I will follow and seek more stories to read.
I truly love this series. The characters are relatable, quirky and beautifully adorable. Jennie always makes me laugh reading her books and this one was no exception.
Zoey's life is in danger in more ways than one. Another great read in this series. If you enjoy a bit of romance mixed in with suspense and mystery then this is the book for you.
You don't have to wait till chapter 5 for the action to start . Page 1 gets us there with one of Zoey 's coworkers being in her apartment stabbed telling her she needs to leave that she is in danger. She goes to the place she knows she'll be safe, her grandmothers Edna. Here we meet the sexy cop Mac. The Page Turners, Edna's reading group, also want to help Zoey and Edna. So the set out in the only fashion they know to help, wing it. Here is where the laughs come in. The girls go in disguise to Zoey's old workplace and even a marijuana shop all t find out who wants her dead. This is book 4 of the Page Turners series. This is the second one I have read. The first being the first book in the series, Another Saturday Night and I Ain't Got NoBody. This book can very easily be a stand alone. I never once was confused over what had happened in the past with characters. This book is Zoey and Mac's story. The characters are a delight and I will be catching up on these series.
From the minute you open the book and start reading until you finish the book you will laugh, cry and wish you were helping Zoey. I really enjoyed her grandmother Edna. She made you laugh and there was never a dull moment when she was around.
Zoey was asleep in her apartment when she hears a noise that is loud enough to wake her up. She wakes to find a good friend and employee of the firm where she used to work, leaning over her suffering from a stab wound. Teddy warns her to run. Just then she hears her apartment door being shattered and takes off. A police officer and friend of her grandmother's help them try to find out who is after Zoey and then the next morning a dead body ends up in her apartment. And it isn't Teddy's
There is never a dull moment once she meets up with her grandmother Edna who enlists their book club the page turners to help them solve the mystery of who killed the man in her apartment and why.
“TANGELD UP IN TUESDAY” is a fun untangled read. Meet Zoey Allen, she’s a simple bookkeeper/accountant just trying to do her job, until suddenly her whole world turns upside down. She’s suddenly a witness in a crime involving the head of the company where she works. Zoey’s co-worker appears in her apartment in the middle of the night – her life is in danger and he’s come to warn her. Enter “Mac” McCarthy, he’s a cop in the town where her grandmother lives. Mac comes to Zoey’s rescue and together they go on a journey to solve the mystery of a dead body in Zoey’s apartment, what’s happened to her co-worker, and prove the company is involved in criminal activities. But they don’t do it alone, Zoey’s grandmother and her ‘crew’ of book club members get involved the craziness starts. Jennie Marts is a new author for me, she’s scored high for me for a wonderful entertaining read.
Jennie Marts really knows how to draw you into a story. Not only are the primary characters, Zoey and Mac, wonderful, but her secondary characters are so fabulous that you just want to move in and become part of the page turners. This is a great suspenseful romance with a lot of wonderful comedy thrown in. You will be on the edge of your seat all while trying not to fall off of it because you are laughing so hard. (God I love Edna!!!) I'm so excited to read the rest of this series. Seriously, if you want a fun, lighthearted story that makes you laugh and keeps you engaged, you want to pick up this book!
The Page Turners Book Club assists Zoey and Mac in their efforts to keep Zoey safe from the money launderers and their enforcement guys. Zoey's grandma is comically always ready to snoop out the bad guys and keep Zoey safe. This cozy mystery is well written, funny and suspenseful at the same time. The supporting characters are those that have been introduced earlier in the series and are still fun and entertaining. Intertwined in the story is the romance between Zoey and Mac who are both very loveable. This is a good page turner to read on a Saturday afternoon!
This is the first time that I have read one of Jennie Marts' books and I have to say that I have certainly been missing out. Witty, laugh-out loud mystery with a hunky police officer thrown in for Zoey to boot. I am a big fan of those types of mysteries versus the scary/crazy killer kind of stories. Even though this is the 4th book you do not have to have read the previous three to thoroughly enjoy this story. My next step is going to be buying the previous books to continue my binge reading of Marts. Wonderful story!
This is a fun read.. If you ever think Monday is a bad day.. Wake up on a Tuesday and begin an adventure of being shot at, running for your life and later finding a dead body in your home.. The tale of Zoey and her everything in order life to mishaps and mayhem.. Oh.. and finding the guy of your dreams to boot an accountant is supposed to have a regular job When the number don't add up and you lose your job and find someone is out to hurt you or worse.. It should have been a Monday ... Loved this book..
Cute story. Little bit of humor. Little bit of suspense. Little bit of romance. Not a lot to keep me interested however. I felt like the author was talking down to me as her reader. I was bashed over the head continuously with the drawn out details. Like I wasn't given any credit for having a mind of my own; I couldn't possibly read between the lines of anything. I did finish the book, but it was a struggle.
Thanks to the publisher for the ARC from NetGalley.com
I rated books 1 and 2 very highly because they were fun. I found this one to be more cheesy than fun. The police were amateur and unrealistic. You would think that Mac was the only one on the force. The sexy scenes weren't done very well and it might have been better to keep that behind closed doors instead of attempting to narrate it. I was a little disappointed because I was looking forward to Mac's story. I'll try another book by this author since I enjoyed the first two.
I haven't read any of her books but I must go back to read the rest in this series. Zoey is an accountant who likes everything in its place. Only she has made the mistake of pissing of the mob and they want her dead. She escapes and ends up at Edna's house. From there a call goes out to the Page Turners book club. The antics of these ladies had me laughing. Only Officer Mac is trying to stop them from getting into trouble and falling for Zoey. He of course fails. Loved the ending.
