Something to Remember: A City Streets, Country Roads Novella

Her perfect Christmas is missing just one thing...

Skyscraper trees and gravel paths have replaced the city skyline view out Ava’s window. The quintessential inn she now calls home is serenely perfect and a fraction of the scale she’s used to renovating. The tiny timber town of Pine Grove, Oregon is filled with people who love her. It’s a picture perfect setting...but Ava doesn’t remember any of it.

When Ava wakes up in the hospital under the capable care of one strappingly good-looking doctor, Lane Hart, she waits for her fiancé, Ned - the last man she remembers being with - to whisk her back to the city. But her reality is nothing like what she remembers. The flannel-clad lumberjack doctor before her claims to be her fiancé, and insists the sparsely populated town of Pine Grove is home.

Meg Gray

Meg Gray uses a small world approach when crafting her contemporary romance novels, tying minor characters from one story into another—demonstrating how intertwined our human lives really are. The city streets and country roads she takes you down aren’t necessarily a structured series, but the stories are connected. Within the pages, her readers will catch glimpses of some of their favorite characters again and again. This is a concept that mirrors itself in our everyday lives. Our worlds are much smaller than we realize, often times we are unaware of the way our lives intersect with those around us.

The best part is Meg’s books keep readers inside the small world she has created so they can enjoy a completely different story with each read. Start with any one of them and be treated to repeat appearances from some of her colorful characters. To get a behind the scenes look at more of the links between her books join Meg’s Insider Club to read exclusive bonus chapters.

Ava wakes up in Pine Grove, Oregon to find herself in the hospital. After having been in a coma for several days, she finds that she's lost the last 2 years of her life.

She waits for her fiancee, Ned, to come take her home only to find that she's engaged to the hunky doctor, Lane Hart .. a man she doesn't recognize or know.

So begins her journey back into her past to find her way again. And what a journey it is! She's a big city girl .. not a country girl. Where are all her real clothes .. not all these flannels? Why has she not talked to her friend in 2 years? Who are all these people who profess to care about her.

This is a very sweet love story. A woman feeling so lost and who needs to know where she fits in this world.

This book has it all .. a little love and romance .. the mystery of her past .... and humor.

I cried a couple of tears and laughed a few tears. The characters are wonderful ... and I loved the thought of a country Christmas.

My thanks to the author who furnished a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I honestly have no idea how to start this review. Ava lost her memory because a pig trampled over her. She lost 2 years of her memory. I wanted to know if she let her fiancé (whom is a Dr) know she fell on ice the year before (while going to a Christmas Party with Ned who was her boyfriend at that time) and did Blair go to suite 202 and find her fiancé (Ned, yes Ava’s ex boyfriend) with the other woman. There’s just so many questions I have about this book. It was sweet but so many unanswered questions.

Is this part of a series that I missed?

Meg Gray, contemporary romance author, has given readers an entertaining novella with her new book, Something to Remember. Ava awakens in a hospital bed, to the unfamiliar faces and surroundings of people and places she cannot remember. She has lost the last two years of her life and is out of place and in an alternate reality she didn’t understand. A family who loves her and yet she has no knowledge of. Memories that make no sense, pieces that are missing. A trip to a life she remembers brings more heartache and confusion. Will the love of the man who Ava doesn’t remember loving be enough to make her want to stay? Can Ava quit chasing what may not want to be found? Easy to read, evocative characters and a few twists and turns to the plot make Something to Remember a sweet romance story not to be missed.
I received a copy of Something to Remember from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved this book! I don't know how Meg Gray packed so much information into this novella. I could not put it down. I cannot imagine losing the last 2 years of my memory like Ava did. Lane was so patient with her. Without giving spoilers, I was getting very nervous about how it might end. The characters are so well developed I felt like I knew them.
I was given a free digital copy of this book for an honest review. I will say it again I loved this book! Clean read, nothing offensive. Lane might have been just a little too good looking but hey, it is fiction.
I read a lot of historical fiction, it was very nice to read a good contemporary story.
I don't review all the books I read, but was very happy to leave a review for this one.

This is a clean, refreshing read with a number of twists and turns to keep the reader wanting to read on as we follow Ava through her attempt to "get back her life" after losing two years from her memory bank following an accident. Waking up to find out she is engaged to someone that she doesn't even remember and not knowing what happened in her past relationships creates a real mystery for Ava as well as for the readers. Her new "doctor friend" is someone that is very likable and his mother and two sons from a previous marriage also adds a whole new dimension to Ava's life. The author put a good twist near the end of the story which kept us guessing.
This is a story that could be recommended to any age.

Another great, heartwarming tale from Meg Gray. I fell in love with Ava (and Lane!) from the moment I met them.

As Ava struggled to regain her lost memories and reconcile the woman she had been with the woman she had become, I was cheering her on and hoping for a Christmas miracle. Ms. Gray didn't disappoint. If you love heartwarming, Christmas movies and books, you'll love this read!!

Fantastic read. I read it as a prerelease book. I found myself wanting to hurry through to find out the ending. If you are one of those readers that reads the last chapter first, DON'T do it with this book. Savor the twists and turns, you will be so glad you waited this time around. It is a very quick read, take your time and enjoy it.

A huge disappointment. Where is the rest of the story. Waste of time reading it.
